I visited Andamooka and went out to Blue Dam, last weekend (which was a long weekend, here in SA). Pretty familiar with the area as I used to drive out to Lake Torrens and Stuarts Creek frequently, when I worked in Roxby around 2020-21.
The position of her car, as it was found, is very strange. I can't fathom what the driver of the car was trying to do, aside from maybe trying to get it stuck on purpose.
Just short of where the car was stuck, there's heaps of room to turn around if that's what you needed to do - but no, they chose to drive it between some bushes over the steepest part of a grader mound, over the top of a pipe that ends approx 10 metres away. So, so weird.
Also, it takes longer to get to Blue Dam than Google Maps estimates - particularly in a Ford Territory. That track is fine up until the dump turnoff, but from there it is and has always has been slow going, all the way out to Lake Torrens. It crosses what is essentially a gibber plain - great at shredding tyres. There are also washouts and uneven sections that have been that way for years. It's very bad at the moment with some boggy spots because they've had some rain, but would have been drier when Trisha disappeared.
I was talking with a worker at the cafe in town who indicated that SAPOL and everyone in town knows what happened to Trisha, but they wouldn't elaborate. Insufficient material evidence to arrest/charge, obviously.
