Yes, it does. But it would be treated as if he was entirely on his own that morning, by the investigating police. They would find out where everyone was, and verify that as best they could. The focus would have been on the last people (other than the abductor) to see him initially. Then they would have worked outwards from there.
That is why the parents would have been the first ones to be cleared.
The police always work from the inside, the people closest at the time, then outwards.
Wonder what it was that they were able to produce to clear them from having anything to do with WT's disappearance, within the first few days of the investigation?
