Australia Australia - William Tyrrell Disappeared While Playing in Yard - Kendall (NSW) 12 Sept 2014 #79

“When I took over the investigation, she had been eliminated as a person of interest by Inspector Rupp. In the four years I ran the investigation she was again eliminated.”
_______________________________________
Has Gary Jubelin published his evidence that, by process of elimination, led him to arrive at his conclusion that the FM was in no way involved in the vanishing of William?

JMO – Surely how he really did arrive at that conclusion has to be laid out and explained.

Somewhere back in these threads is an interview with Hans Rupp. He explained his process of elimination.

Rupp, of course, followed the traditional police pattern of looking at those closest first, then working his way out. He retired after he initiated the investigation into, and searches of, Bill Spedding.

William had been missing for about 5 months when Rupp retired.

Thankyou SA
I am focussing on Gary's process of elimination.

No worries. It is helpful to hear from more than one investigator, I think.
They all use the same pattern. Start with those closest, and work their way out.
Eg: Rupp was the one who took the family's devices and vehicles for forensic examination. When the case was brand new.

Not one of the lead investigators was called to testify at the inquest.

The coroner had seen their reports and they were so far off the mark, there was little point in airing what was a 'fairytale'. Opinion is not evidence and the coroner clearly stated that they were interested only in evidence.

The Coroner's attorney said that Laidlaw's submission was entirely opinion (just about). Which is why they weren't interested in his submission. Not factual.

I think that "major" was an adjective inserted by the previous poster. Jubes has said (a lot) that he would like to see an inquiry, that he owns his mistakes, that all the investigators should own their mistakes, so the same kind of mistakes are not made again.

A lot of money has been spent on this investigation. By all of the lead investigators. With no result. The Big Dig (for example) must have cost a small fortune.

Once the inquest report is published, I think that we may see another lawsuit. So far, there have been two lawsuits that we know of.

Prosecuting Jubes was also a waste of taxpayer money. They could have easily used internal disciplinary measures instead.

imo
Tall Poppy syndrome. SA

Have a read about Operation Prospect, Operation Florida, Task Force Volta, "Strike Force Emblems" ( you won't find much it's all hidden from the public )

Good honest officers targeted. Over 100 police, including high ranking ones such as Nick Kaldas & Clive Small

The Greens have slammed the New South Wales Government's decision not to release the Strikeforce Emblems report into a controversial police phone tapping operation.

The report was written eight years ago after it emerged that an internal police unit had obtained warrants to secretly record more than 100 past and present police officers.

The NSW government will not release a report into a high-level internal police surveillance operation, saying the police integrity watchdog has found the investigation unsatisfactory.
Police Integrity Commission (PIC) Inspector David Levine warned that releasing the Strike Force Emblems report would be "dangerous" and damage the reputation of NSW police.
Strike Force Emblems was established to investigate the propriety of an internal police operation in 2000, which put 114 people, including police and lawyers, under surveillance.

Some of those police are now in the top ranks of the force, including deputy commissioner Nick Kaldas.

Kinda ironic that these warrants were suspect at best, when there was a legal warrant for PS , but it had expired & NSWPF took their chance to very publicly prosecute Gary Jubelin IMO

Nick Kaldas's book Behind The Badge & Clive Small & tom Gillings book Betrayed are a good read about how the NSWPF treat their own.

Sadly Clive Small died a couple of months ago

Now if we are talking wild conspiracy theories, than I have to wonder if GJ was set up by members of his team?? Revenge & grudges maybe??

From what I read in the earlier days, there were conflicts within the ranks. I believe Jubes was prosecuted to make an example out of him. He'd gone a bit rouge. MOO

Dan Box certainly discusses suppression orders on suppression orders in his podcast. Is there likely to be a media link if there is a suppression order? I don’t think so. I am certainly not going to break that order on this site.

I certainly have looked for the original. It was replaced in early 2025. You may have better luck finding it. How about you post it if you find it. I used the word ‘think’ because it is the only explanation that I can see for this.

Do you have the original. Have a close look. It is certainly revealing.

Victim friendly refers to the victim and associated family members.
Correct, both BS and PS were persons of interest to law enforcement. Case investigations into murders or disappearances have persons of interest or suspects, not all of whom turn out to be a perpetrator. It's part of law enforcement investigation, and with both those individuals there were valid reasons they were classified as POIs in William's case at the time. With any case as a POI or suspect, you are classified as such until you can be eliminated from that category.

Both matters are over and done with. The Spedding matter was settled with an award by the courts, and Savage was settled with Jubelin having been found guilty and fined $10,000. Gary Jubelin had an exemplary reputation prior to what was determined to be his illegal recording in William's case.

Neither finding by the courts in any way negates the years and exemplary work Jubelin did in total that gained him his reputation as a top-notch investigator.

Please move on from the old grudges that are not in any way helpful in finding William or determining what actually happened to him.

Thank you.

Does anyone who may have been at the last week of the inquest, where the NSW CC video was played to those in court, remember the date that NSWPF did a re-enactment video with the FFC??

How many POIs were there in 2021 (when the accusations started flying)? A few hundred, I think. And about 10 or 12 primary POIs - something like that.

It was in Dan's podcast, as stated by Mick Fuller.

ETA: I found one link - it was 'less than 10'.

The former NSW Police Commissioner Michael Fuller has confirmed detectives were looking at multiple “persons of interest” in the William Tyrrell investigation at a time police and media were saying publicly the focus was on only one - the boy’s foster mother.

Mr Fuller said he had his last briefing on the case shortly before leaving the force in January 2022, when “they still had around 10 persons of interest that they were looking at”.

In the aftermath of the recent revelations, he confirmed that, “at some point late 2021, I received a briefing and there were still a number of persons of interest. I believe that was down to single figures though.”

From what I re-call from the last week of the inquest the 2nd week was just reserved ( 16/12/2024 - 20/12/2024 ) & the police wanted to re-call the FFC & the Coroner said that she had already ruled on that ( that she was not going to re-call her ) but told the legal team to make a submission / application.
She obviously still decided not to call her.

There were no more witnesses, hence the week was vacated & the inquest closed.

I wasn't surprised it was ended when it did.

‘ Could be’ showed the photo earlier in the thread that has been cropped and re released. Work out which one shows the most detail.

Did you download these articles now or was it from your files?

A simple google search. All still active links, right now, today.

I don't believe any photos have been "suppressed " at all IMO

I looked at all your photos. They have all been cropped in way or another. You have not posted one photo of WT in the roar photo that is not cropped. I have that photo and was in my Coronial submission.
