If they don't believe this was cruel then they don't deserve 90 minute lunches!

State only needs jury to find 1 agg factor to push forward w/death, irrelevant if hang on the other @hlnonthecase #MarissaDevault

There's some excellent "eateries" downtown there in Phoenix

Was this posted? I did not see it but I am running back and forth trying to cook and watch tweets :scared:

In a question to Judge, #MarissaDevault jury said they've reached a unanimous decision on 1 aggravator. The 2nd may be hung...only 1 needed

Weren't the aggragators especially cruel and financial gain?

Honestly, these days just getting a M1 verdict for a female defendant is a miracle in and of itself. A woman can duct-tape her own little baby, murder the sweet thing and get away with murder. Women can slice and dice men any which they want and wiggle their way out of the death penalty. And ruin the victims' reputation while at it! :scared:

Yes so I can't imagine they don't find it cruel. Can you?

The Trial DivaS

Airtight Divas and Divos here's the lowdown in Marissa Devault. The jury only needs to accept one factor unanimously in order to move forward. Right now it appears they are unanimous in one factor, however we must remember it does not mean that they are unanimously accepting the factor. This means they would have to move to second factor. If they are hung on that 2nd factor, it would be hung and they are done as judge said. So we need to wait and see what they are in agreement on and see if they can unanimously accept one of them so they can proceed to mitigation phase. They continue deliberations until 4 pm today and return on Monday at 10:30 am. Hope this helps and makes sense.

It's highly unlikely that this jury is hung on the cruelty factor. It would shock me to no end if that is indeed the case. .

  • #392
I wish we could have watched the entire trial, then MAYBE we might have an idea of what the "hold up" is!!!!!!

But you already figured out what the hold up was..another hand of " Texas Hold Em" :floorlaugh:

I can't imagine they could find it anything but cruel. With the added bonus of how much the insurance would pay her. How they could be having a difficult time with this is beyond me.

I would hope they weren't hung on the financial gain factor, either. jmo

Imagine how long the penalty phase will be! Or they could do like Arias' jury and decide in a matter of hours that they cannot reach a unanimous decision. Case closed. Urgh...

  • #397
Maybe they just want to make sure they're hung on the "other" factor, and have already agreed on the one as "Guilty".:please:

I could see that over the cruelty. The defense made a big deal about how she didn't gain anything monetarily. They may have tuned out the prosecutions explanation. I don't know.
