CaseyAnthony upended the system and justice, I think, for all of us, but I think LVD isn't walking away from this trial without a life sentence. Even if the entire jury fell asleep during the State's closing  repetition recitation, LVD's closing was short and I'm positive the jury will have heard every wird of it, especially the part where she said she "wasn't mad" that CV changed the beneficiary of his life insurance to not-her. Because they'll also remember her reaction on the phone -- she was anything but pleased. And they may note that LVD doesn't blow up when she's angry, she conspires. Bottom line, she lied to the jury.

She lied to the jury in an attempt to erase her motive for murder.

I hope the jurors stick around for a nice lunch and then return the verdict LVD deserves.

That woman is a death trap.

it's funny, Magnut but your posts are starting to sound a lot like mine, I have to check sometimes and make sure I didn't write it..lol. mOO

If it was self-defense, why wait 47 minutes?

And if it's not self-defense, it's murder.

And if it's murder, who benefits?

The hard part will be filling out the paperwork.

They got this.

Is it wrong to hope that whoever reads the verdict does so in a baby voice?

While waiting for a verdict, here's a preview of the next trial, if they still hold it.

He starts talking about the shooting at about 44 minutes in both videos.

What if you were on this jury and you did not find LVD guilty of conspiracy to commit murder, and then you learn out about her prior bad act for which she has been convicted? Can you imagine what a horrible feeling that would be? I’m not sure I could forgive myself. 😢
Great point @MySharoanah, I can understand why Lori's prior bad acts were way too prejudicial to reveal, but if your scenario happened, I would be so upset that this information was kept from me.

Duh!
I just dawned on me the jurors aren't supposed to know that LVD was involved with the killing of her 2 children.
Your original post still made sense to me.

I’d think parents and grandparents would see some of the contradictions - the wiping of tears when talking about Tylee’s alleged part in the encounter and the exaggerated claims to having to care for five kids once widowed against the nonchalance of driving away with the two kids, CV’s phone in hand, hitting the drive-up window for greasy chicken fries and Sprite for breakfast, making a quick stop at Walgreen’s to get some leopard-spot flip-flops for herself and some ugly neon-green ones for Tylee, a couple quick time-outs from all that nurturing-mothering to take AC’s calls, dropping off JJ without mention to the school staff of the horror he’d just been in the vicinity of and would surely find devastating later, and then returning to the scene to flip her hair at the officer while chatting about new neighbors, her daughter standing nearby without so much as an arm around her shoulders.

I was slightly concerned about the blonde "halo effect" (attractive people = good) when the jury was first selected, seeing that there were so many men chosen, but TBH, I would be shocked if any of them were at all "smitten" (or even slightly attracted to) LVD at this point.

IMO, LVD could have come into this trial and played the frightened-for-my-life damsel-in-distress role and garnered far more sympathy. She could emphasized the power dynamics between the non-working stay-at-home mom struggling to raise an autistic kid vs the muscular semi-pro athlete jet-setting breadwinner and the social dynamics of how the word of a male "priesthood holder" has more pull and influence within the LDS community. She could have suggested that the "nonchalance" others perceived was really just relief at being free from this constant threat to herself and her kids. She could have expressed regret over what happened, over what had become of their once-happy marriage, over the end result. But she didn't.

Not saying most of the jury would have bought it, but you may have had the chance of pulling in one or two men who'd make it their business to try to "rescue" her.

Instead, her cross-examinations alone came off as bitter, vindictive, jealous, and more concerned about protecting her own Ego than anything else. There was no warmth, no softness, no vulnerability in her demeanor. Just ugly, bitter anger and annoyance.

Same with her closing. I wish we could see her notes. I'm positive her insertion of emotion was annotated in the margins. "Fake cry here."

watching convicted murderer Lori Vallow cross examine the woman he had dinner with literally terrified me...you could just feel the hatred and self righteousness coming off Lori. I felt like she might levitate and start spinning around the room like Bettlejuice! mOO

No more wrong than my secret wish that Treena had curled her hair for the closing. I know, petty. I’ll let myself out.

And all she cared about is how much she assumed they talked about her.

Don’t you think she was hoping to motivate the witness to give forbidden testimony? In the hope of a mistrial followed by complaints about the next trial violating her speedy trial rights?

whatever happened to baby Lori ? she is literally unhinged and scary. mOO
Jekyll and Hyde. Imagine your mother turning into a monster in front of you. She told Audrey B that she could get into a headspace where she was capable of murder.

I really do hope they hold the Bourdeaux trial because I think it will be an easy one, they have a very strong case. Here's a police report with some of the evidence. They have a traffic cam photo of the jeep en route, Alex's burner phone data at the scene, and they have video of LVD at a storage unit storing the spare wheel taken off the jeep. There is much more than that.

Here's a police report about it.

I definitely see her as that wily.

IMO as the majority on the jury are men, I think they’ll have lunch first :)

Given how long anything “court-related” takes (it’s like football time), I’d want lunch first too and I’m female.
