I still often think back to when I first heard about JJ and Tylee missing and saw Kay's interview where she said Lori thought she was a Goddess and that her whole family followed her around like they believed she was one.

I thought to myself, that is crazy, I have to see what is up with this. And here I am, at the 3rd trial with the Goddess acting as her own attorney! It's been wild!

So 5/30 IS jury voir dire - and trial actually starts on 6/2 - what if the jury isn't picked on that Friday the 30th? I guess they would go into Monday the 2nd then & on...
and thanks for the response! :)

Voir dire is considered part of the trial by courts, so when they give a trial start date that includes voir dire.

Like this current trial on Charles Vallow had an official start date of March 31, and that's when they started voir dire. Opening arguments started on a later date.

On that note, they only took 2 days to select a jury for the current trial, but I am wondering whether the publicity of this trial will make it take longer to select a jury in the next one. The judge scheduled fewer trial dates for the next one because this one was finished so quickly. But I wonder if maybe they are going to need more days for the next one than the judge gave because of a longer jury selection.

Are we keeping Brandon's trial info here or are we moving to his own thread?

A defense attorney: "Lori's best defense would be that she's crazy." The second option would be to blame Alex.

<snipped> MBP saw with her own eyes that Tylee and JJ were nowhere to be seen for weeks when she lived nextdoor to Lori in Rexburg <snipped>
Just to clarify the MBP timeline here…

MBP moved to Rexburg after the trip to Hawaii with LVD & AB - on 10/31 - AC drove the moving truck on Halloween night. LVD went to Hawaii a few days later (on 11/3) to marry CD. LE located Tylee’s jeep the next day and knocked on MBP’s door asking her about who lived next door. I don’t recall exactly when CD & LVD returned from Hawaii but about a week after that MBP was in UT at BB’s parent’s home and arrested for trespassing. A few days after that she started dating IP & about a week later CD & LVD go to CA for Thanksgiving with the Daybell kids before traveling on to Hawaii.

So technically MBP did live next door to LVD for weeks but they really weren’t even in town at the same time for very much of those few weeks. So MBP actually would have had more of an opportunity to notice Tylee & JJ’s absence on her visits to Rexburg before moving there than she did after moving there.

Please do not wait another second. Go watch Colby Ryan's interview with Lt. Ray Hermosillo
Thanks Tricia,
Seeing that the saving grace for Colby throughout this unspeakable family tragedy was having Ray is heartwarming and that it formed a unique and close friendship for both men.
Both men are to be commended for their strength and courage.

Comic relief:
Colby: "even Dexter had empathy for his family"
and
@ 40:55 both men's reaction to LVD's attraction towards CD.
It was so good to hear their laughter especially about something we've all thought.

We will continue to discuss the attempted murder of Brandon B on this thread. That way, we can keep all the information in one place, along with keeping track of Lori's craziness.

For Brandon's case - I am guessing all the Status hearings for this case are to go along with the trial.

<modsnip - quoted post was snipped

@Izzylizzy - I would love to see Lori pressed to answer your question. Though I think I know what her answer would be - Lori is considered legally sane, but IMO- she suffers from a whole boatload of mental defects. Too many to list ...

Watching Colby's interview with Lt. RH where he is telling Colby that CD had a Pendulum that he would hold and swing to decide who was light and dark has just got me SMH.
I would like to take that Pendulum and smack CD in the head a few times while asking is that
LIGHT or DARK !!!!!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad:...JMO

Ahh yes, the old pendulum,
I saw it used over pregnant women's bellies, including mine.
I forget which motion was a girl and which was a boy.
Back and forth was one and circling was the other.
Chad was obviously confused on the pendulum's other worldly abilities. lol

Hopefully Treena Ray keeps driving home to the jury LVD's "callous indifference" to the death of CV and calls it just that.

Let me do the time math for you.
Court begins Monday, April 21st at:
10:30 AM Pacific
11:30 AM Mountain
12:30 PM Central
1:30 PM Eastern
Jury instructions begin at:
11:00 AM Pacific
Noon Mountain
1:00 PM Central
2:00 PM Eastern.
Break for lunch
Closing arguments begin at:
1:00 PM Pacific
2:00 PM Mountain
3:00 PM Central
4:00 PM Eastern.
The jury will begin deliberations after closing arguments.
Nate said closing arguments might take an hour to an hour and a half, which seems quick to me. I have no idea what time limit the court gives for deliberations.
Also, in other court cases, the prosecution goes first, then the defense, then the prosecution gets a rebuttal. I have no idea if that's how they handle it in Arizona.

Finally, is the court still delaying the livestream by 30 minutes? I think so, but I'm not sure

I think that means that the closing statements will remain on delay, then once a verdict is announced, the judge will give a 30-60 minute heads up for the media to reassemble and then the verdict will have a five-minute delay.

Balancing the public's interest against the risk of LVD circus monkeys getting loose.
