Thanks for this. A very interesting interview and a reminder how this all started. I do wonder though, if BB hadn’t engaged RR whether there would ever have been any accountability for LVD and CD and whether we would have found that Tammy had in fact, been murdered. Kudos to BB for not letting this go.

I need to find that video. I sure didn’t know that. Thanks so much. I know that was traumatic. I grew up in Texas and it felt too close to home for me. I always say I do not understand being persuaded by a personality to do what he/she tells you. I’ve always had a voice inside me that told me to run.
His followers were mostly poor people. Some, I guess most, sold everything they had to leave CA with him and go with him.

I don’t understand the whole process but Brandon has said they had a mediator and in talks with Melanie he has forgiven her. Her new husband, Ian, may have had something to do with her future stability. I take it that Brandon is a trusting guy and believes Lori led Melanie down a very dark path and she fell for it.

Thanks. i will go check her out. I appreciate you. Some of it I would like to not remember. I just cannot imagine how she felt knowing her friends, co-workers, were being murdered and she somehow survivied.

MB actually had some level of love for her children which is probably what LD, who had no lasting love for her own, leveraged against MB. If she turned, she'd lose her children. What MB didn't know is, successful in eliminating BB (and cashing in on his life insurance), how quickly LD would have labeled the children as dark, properly insured of course.

LD, all about the love. Of money. Power.

Frankly I think she gets off on controlling people.

If I were the judge, I would reconsider her movement about the courtroom. Much as I'm willing to let her earn the lightning belt/bolt, I don't trust her. No one in that courtroom should relax.

Melani's g'friend Jess who did an interview with Lauren@ Hidden True Crime told Lauren that Melanie told her that 2 of her children were dark.

The group had already declared 2 of the Boudreaux children "dark" (from Annie's timeline), and MBP knew about it and (as of 7/26/19) was "taking it well." --

She also references the Boudreaux son, Blake, who Lori, Melani, and Chad thought was evil. (He was estimated to be 3 or 4 at this time.) Chad also tells her about other evil spirits they needed to rid the world of (source).

Chad: There are 272 3s left, and none of them have occupied a body before. They are down to their last reserves. I’m glad I caught Elroy. I feel he was aiming to hide out and then get into JJ.

Lori: Good morning missing you. Didn’t sleep much. Need you to check jj. Weird stuff happened in the middle of the night. It’s like they distracted us with Blake.

Lori: Mel knew. She called me. She felt the real Brighton last night and knew she was different. She was told I didn’t want to tell her. She is taking well and knowing it is part of a big plan. She is amazing!

Not to excuse Melani's actions, but a lot might be explained by her early upbringing with her mother Stacey, LD's older sister. Stacey had challenging medical and mental issues, going by her husband's court filing in their divorce. Stacey had a lot of delusional beliefs about health and nutrition that she also imposed upon Melani. And after Stacey's death (which was under suspicious circumstances), LD would have had a lot of unfortunate influence in her life.

The harrowing details can be read below (17 pages). It's a divorce filing, but comes across very credible.

I ask because if so a woman's place in the world/church is becoming a mother and a stay at home one to boot.

This was the court appearance 4 yrs ago where BB & MB agreed to 50-50 decision making for the 4 children and come the following January MB would get visitation rights.
I don't know if MB went back to court since then and got some kind of custody?

She was warned by the court not to state that she was a good person because that would allow the prosecution to bring up her murder convictions. She doesn't seem to accept it and claims that the prosecution gave up that right before the trial. Two separate rules are at play (Lori is referring to 404 and the prosecution to 405).
