I thought about the delay and without a paternal ID, maybe they are waiting and waiting for the right one?... They can identify Sylar without that though. Very odd, but I guess they do have to send DNA to a place in Utah. There are extensive test that can be done from the condition Sylar was found in. Feels like they want to come back and nail them good with one slam dunk.

I also let the best of me get to me last night with a crazy theory. What if Sylar wasn't even CN's child to make a match?. Nah.

Snipped
A search warrant shows campers staying near where Sylar Newton and his custodial mother, Christina Priem, were camping said they saw Priem or her mother being verbally abusive to Sylar. They said one of the women even pushed the toddler to the ground the evening before he went missing.

Isn't it illegal to witness a crime ( and last I heard child abuse was a crime) and NOT report it? I wonder what, if anything, will happen to the witnesses. I doubt anything will come of it. Just throwing it out there.

From what I recall in my years of paralegal classes, no, it is not.
I don't know if having a child involved would change that or not.

Can anyone recall a case where it took this long?

I'm praying for that slam dunk...

That's a good point too Sleuth! No one has stepped forward to say that he is Sylar's father...:cursing:

What I was thinking though was something along the lines of CPS asking CP about the father and CPS not being able to give the name of a father that had SN with CP.

Hopefully we will hear something soon, and there will be a good reason for the delay. Hang in there until then

possible answers to paternity

(a) she didn't catch his name
(b) he gave her a false name
(c) she doesn't remember
(d) he doesn't want to be named - maybe he's married or has his own reasons

all of the above submitted respectfully and I am not trying to be 'cute' here - just trying to be realistic.

Is there a lack of interest in this case? I would have thought reporters would be hanging out at the courthouse hopeful to catch any action that may be going on with this case. I have no contacts in the media so I am totally dumbfounded by the lack of information on this sad case.

Is there any legal way that the 'authorities' are able to limit reporting?

http://apps.supremecourt.az.gov/publicaccess/caselookup.aspx

there are numerous entries there for priem and collins (Nancy Kay)

using this link you can check the ''status'' of the investigation

shows the search warrants issued

shows the dates search warrants were issued

(I don't know what they mean when it says 'search warrant returned' on some dates )

There has been no update on Tina's court hearing today about custody of her two biological children.

Am I the only one who finds it quite sad, that WE know more about Sylar's case than his own biological mother???

Just wondering... anyway, now that she has been informed there was a hearing on Monday, she will see if she can find out what the outcome was.

There is an explanation of who Sylar's father might be from the bio mom located on the Find Syler Newton FB page (the original page that has his name spelled wrong). It is listed on the "Discussions" page under the topic "Things Found All Over". It is a post 6th up from the bottom.

After reading her explanation, I think the answer is (e) .... all of the above.

You can tell by looking at pictures and video's of charity with Sylar that she has that Amazed- awe look that mothers get when they see there baby for the first time, The in love look. I do not think Charity really would have left him there had she thought he was being abused.
I think she would have left him somewhere else.

I have to say Charity seems to hang in there and take alot of crap she could turn off her computer and walk away but she doesnt. She doesnt try to lie and cover up much. Not that she doesnt deserve it but some of it is really uncalled for.
The whole disclosure about Sylar possible father was something she could have kept to herself forever. Was she just defending herself?

There have been other things to she has said that makes me think she has some redeeming traits. I do tend to believe her when she says Tina appeared to be a good person or mother to her.

Do you guys think she is lying about being off of drugs before Sylar was born/ And being clean for year?
Do you guys think she is being honest about being decieved by Tina about the kind of person she was?

I think I am up in the air about how I feel about Charity ,in a way I can understand her plight to be able to chose a home for Sylar if she couldnt care for him herself.( although I think it was so she could come and go as she pleased) If I couldnt care for my children I would not want DSS placing my kid where I didnt know where or who they were with I would want to be parent still even if I couldnt parent them.
On the other hand I make better choices and I am not misguided so I would have not put my child in the deranged family knowing they had the interpersonal issues that Charity knew sandy and Tina had and Charity also said Nancy was not supposed to be arround Sylar. I would of had the forsight to know that it was a disfunctional family. The warning signs were there for Charity she failed to accept them for what they were.

Overall I do think she is being honest about her impressions of Tina before Sylar went missing.

I agree with you Soulmagent ~ and as the story goes, her other babies have been luckier than Sylar.

I believe that Charity loved Sylar, but she loved herself more. Going through the steps of giving up a child for adoption has got to be excruciating, and I do believe, for what ever reason, she did want involvement in Sylars life, but on her terms. Christine offered her that opportunity, and to most of us it seems obvious that Tina would not be a good choice. But everything is relative, to Charity, who abandons children, doesnt work, lives like a gypsy, and has had problems with meth-Tina seemed like an upstanding citizen. As for whether Charity was on drugs when Sylar was born I cant say for sure, but I thought I had read that one of her previous babies was born with pot in his system. That tells me that its not beyond the realm of possibilities, but knowing this, wouldnt the state have tested Sylar?

I agree Windersdawn, wonderfully put!

I would think that the state would have tested Sylar when he was born, but there are many things that the state should have done for Sylar that weren't.:moo:

Like everyone, I have assumed that Christina and her mom are guilty, and the latest info on the muscle relaxants and abuse have about sealed the deal for me, but I am bothered by one thing-where LE says Sylar was at. They believe his little body was about 5 miles away, and got washed down during the floods, right? That means that sometime after 9:30 pm (when the last witnesses heard him) he died, Christine or her mother, on foot (no one heard a car) carried him through the woods, uphill, approx. 5 miles and buried him:waitasec:. Now even without a shovel and believing that he weighed the 20 lbs they all say (which I doubt), thats got to be tough. Neither Christine or her mom seem up to it? I realize they would of had almost 4 hours but still, I dont see them being fit enough to pull it off withought leaving tons of evidence or being noticed....Do you think LE might be wrong on where he was, or that maybe someone else helped?

I glanced at a definition for search warrant returned.

I could be wrong but what I made out was that if items are seized it has something to do with an inventory being entered to the court. Something along those lines. I don't know.

Makes me think they found something they were looking for, hopefully, it will lead to justice for Sylar.

Thanks everyone for the welcome, I've been a lurker for years, but this case (maybe because its so close to home) has really been bothering me, so I figured I would take the leap and become a member.

I hope so too!

The first and only thing that comes to mind would be drugs and/or drug paraphernalia.

Wintersdawn, if you check this thread starting at about #135 forward, you will see that many posters on here were brainstorming on how this could have been achieved. There are culverts upstream (under roads etc) .... TexasLil especially helped with her knowledge of google topography maps etc. There has been no official mention of cars NOT being used, started up (pretense of errands etc)
