Well, I hope someone reminds the judges that technically, no one (ie, SWM) could tell HM what to do anyway.

She is an adult. SWM couldn't tell her where to live, who to marry, whose baby to have. If HM didn't like the rules and conditions required to live at home off her mother, she was free at any time to move out, get a job and do whatever she wanted.

Someone should remind HM of that tweet. No, no one could stop her from doing what she wanted to do, kill her mother. Unfortunately she forgot about consequences.

It sounds to me like she is saying her mother is trying to tell her what to do and HM wants her money so she is going to let her rage take care of business so she can get her way. (Sounds like premeditated murder to me).

  • #923
I think she is a sociopath and will do and say whatever she needs to in order to get a lighter sentence.

I have also wondered if the things HM was saying .. she loves Bali, loves rice, wants to live there .. were sweetly-said sarcastic comments. Not sure how many, if any, of the reporters present that day were Anglo, but I do know that sarcasm is truly lost on Balinese people, in my experience. Especially when said with a smile on your face.

 How could HM and TS fall in love with Bali from being locked up in a jail? Gosh, they haven't been outside the jail in months, but they fell in love with everything including the rice.

Oh yes, we love the beautiful jails and prisons. :jester::clown: We want our baby to grow up here.

I think we all get the drift of the tweet. It was a threat. My issue is how it is translated to someone unfamiliar with the English language, especially slang or ghetto speak. This is an evidentiary issue. In my practice, I often have to hire translators to draft certified translations of text for use in court. How can that be exactly translated.

That sounds like Scott Peterson being "jazzed" about his Historic building new home- Death Row in San Quentin.

Well, you know me, I'd use emoticons to translate it. If only I could find just the right emoticons it might tell what "it" is talking about in that text.

... ... ... ...

I don't think the US government should get involved. If anyone should be involved, it should be family. I realize SWM's family has reason not to, but what about friends and family of TS? Why shouldn't they provide for the unborn child?
I'd rather see Sheila's family get custody of the child and rename it after her, than TS's family. After all, they've done such a good job of raising him right, NOT!!!

I am seriously shaking my head at the campaign to collect money to basically sponser a baby so she can STAY in prison. Get her out of there and away from her murderous violent "mother". HM has NO business raising a child.

[Sarcasm on] She was such a great daughter, why wouldn't she make a good mother? [/Sarcasm off]

If these two really love this baby, and are facing a long sentence, maybe they need to consider allowing the baby to be adopted by some unrelated couple and brought up not knowing what occurred. I feel sorry for this baby having to carry the taint and stain of the nightmarish crimes of the parents. After all, it's quite horrific that grandmother ended up murdered, and stuffed in a suitcase by these two. I certainly don't think being raised for two years in a prison is a great start for a baby either. What is best for their child is most important, but they're young and dreamy, and perhaps being advised by greedy, unrealistic US attorneys.

For the heck of it, I put HM's 'i refuse to let someone say what i can do, gettin money my attitude you know what it do' into Google translate, and translated it into Indonesia.

The result was ...'saya menolak untuk membiarkan orang mengatakan apa yang bisa saya lakukan, gettin uang sikap saya Anda tahu apa yang ia lakukan'

Then I took the Indonesian translation, and translated it back into English ... the result was 'I refuse to let people say what can I do, my attitude gettin money you know what he was doing'

I guess my point is that it will be a pretty close translation. The 'he' won't be taken as he, I think they know enough to make that 'she/I' ... considering the difficulty with translation of he/she/I. And they will probably (imo) presume that Heather was giving Sheila a hard time in Bali about money ... seeing that the tweet happened while they were in Bali, and seeing that they were arguing in the lobby about who was paying for Tommy's room.

Now, if the FBI (or reading western MSM) has provided info about potential inheritance/the lawsuit, that may heighten things even further.

My Bold...
Heathers Tweet:
"i refuse to let someone say what i can do, gettin (sic) money my attitude you know what it do #bali,"

I have a feeling that there maybe evidence in the form of the past reports (80+) given to LE by Sheila regarding HM's 'attitude' on 'discipline and money' that correlate 'you know what it do '.
If the reports to LE show, as a precursor to the many assaults by HM inflicted on Sheila, that they had any relation to conflict caused by HM's attitude on discipline, money and an attempt of getting her own way through violence towards Sheila - I'd say the tweet can be self evident.
If HM has gone off the rails before over these things - and in the same manner, then the tweet is also saying that she's about to inflict the same again. She's also aware of her behaviour and what type of response she dishes out when someone restricts her from doing what she wants and wont provide her with means at her demand.

IMHO, it reinforces her control of the situation that night - further from the Tweet - that if this is her attitude then Heather knows how to fix it so she has money and she can do what she wants by controlling others - including TS.

ETA: I wonder if there are other Tweets or Social media evidence prior to other attacks on Sheila from HM regarding HM's 'attitude'.

Good thinking SA.
That's a close translation - even from Google.
I hope the Tweet is used in court to show intent.

I think this girl planned the murder and told anyone she knew about it (in various words) because she is so deluded and arrogant that she believes she will get her way and get away with murder. I even suspect the baby could have been part of her master plan. As for him, I tend to think he was a lost boy who still doesn't understand the manipulation he experienced.

Whether or not she participated in the actual murder or if she hid in the bathroom, I believe she and she alone is the master planner/architect of the death of her mother.

Regarding the "...you know what it do" from my experience that phrase is used within the Black culture as slang to denote familiarity as in "you know what/how I react in this kind of a situation". I really don't think it is that deep.

To date I haven't really posted anything about it but I thought would because of something that just happened a few minutes ago, and aptly demonstrates it's use. I'm watching an episode of "Girlfriends" on TV1 (Their slogan is "Where Black Life Unfolds"). Girlfriends was a long running sitcom about 5 Black women, their friendship and careers and their lives in Calif. Think Sex and the City for Black girls. Anyway, in this eppie, 2 of the main characters, female and male, who are the only attorneys of color at the same law firm and vie for senior partner status. They have also been longtime platonic friends and are co-owners in a joint business. It is Christmas time and they decide to go to a tropical destination for the holidays only to have their flight grounded at a layover/ airport in the Midwest which has to shutdown because of a snowstorm. They seek lodging but because everything is filled they end up in a sh****, unclean motel in the middle of no where, without heat and later power. Hours later William, a tall, big man is so tired he finally decides to sleep on the dirty mattress that has no linen on it. He attempts to coax Joan into bed with him so they can cuddle for warmth but she tells him she can't bear to lie on the mattress because it is so dirty. He in turn lies flat on his back and tells her she can lie on top of him so she won't have to touch the mattress at all. She does and settles in and says "Oh William, thank you, you are so gallant" to which he responds "You know how I do". I have long thought HM meant that she was going to act out or get pissed as she was wont to do in the past when she did not get her way. To what degree I have no idea but clearly one can infer based on her past, it would be more than just a brief pouting period.

ETA: So the word s*h*a*b*b*y must be a banned word?? Why I wonder...what am I missing?

I wonder how they're dealing with the idea of their first Christmas in Keroboken? It would be better if they were in different facilities and couldn't see each other. I'd imagine that they can spend all day with each other, or at least during the visiting hours, which is every day.

That place really is more like a poor village. It's probably nicer than a lot of them actually.

I've been wondering if they can see each other during visiting hours. Maybe. But it seems to me that you would have to have visitors to be brought to the visiting area, where they could then see one another. I have been trying to find info about how men and women are segregated at the prison ... and how they may end up in the same area at the same time .. no luck, so far.

I wonder if Tommy's mother has planned to spend her donated dollars to visit Tommy at Christmas, seeing that the charges should happen right after Christmas, and the court case commence in January.

As an aside, there are some other issues with Christmas in Indonesia.

"In India and Indonesia already this month, religious extremists attacked Christians for caroling and protested against store owners for selling and displaying Christmas
decorations."

Here's a pretty in depth story on Kerobokan from 2012. Not the hellhole it's made out to be IMO.

http://www.phaseloop.com/foreignprisoners/prison-indonesia03.html

A link from that site..

http://www.smh.com.au/world/hard-hot-but-not-all-hell-20120616-20gk1.html#ixzz1yPLRysag

The 1000 inmates at Kerobokan have much more freedom than inmates elsewhere around the world. While they are locked in their cells from 5pm to 8am, most prisoners are free to do as they please during the day.

''If I had to go to jail, I would rather be here than in Australia,'' she says.

''The physical conditions are not great but, that said, it's a lot freer than a Western jail. There is a lot of interaction between the prisoners and there are a lot of programs they can do, which will improve their chances once they leave jail.''

There is definitely a women's block ... and at one time HM may have been able to keep her nails manicured, but maybe not now. Especially if she only has $50 to spend.

SCHAPELLE Corby's skill as a nail artist has earned her many customers among her fellow female prisoners at Bali's Kerobokan Jail.
Insiders at the jail .... say that her nail art is "very cool" and that she charges 20,000 rupiah or $2 to do the nails.
"Her nail art is very cool. Many women in the W block have become her nail art customers. Mostly the customers are the women who have money," one fellow prisoner said.

Corby has also become active in making wooden fans as part of a program run by the jail where a company in Denpasar supplies wood for the prisoners to make fans for them.
Corby is in cell number one in the overcrowded women's block where there are 105 inmates. The capacity is 52 prisoners. She is sharing currently with nine other prisoners. At times there have been up to 13 women in her cell.
