I don't believe there is any evidence as to who bought the phone.

Good questions. He bought it in March - so a full two months before Tim Bosma's murder he was in possession of a phone that he registered a fake name & address for.

There is no evidence who bought the phone. Maybe some evidence as to who did will come out at trial, but I believe they said they couldn't pull the video from the store that sold the phone IIRC

We just know that DM was seen using it to talk to TB at a time when phone records show the Lucas Bate phone was calling TB, as witnessed as well by SB and WdB.

So, I think we can say it's DM's phone.

I don't think who bought the phone matters as much as who was using it.

It has been implied that he was talking to TB. It is possible that it's his phone or he was using MS phone or even that he was using a phone because it had the number stored in it.

I think it does matter who bought the phone. Maybe someone bought it to keep private phone private. I always block outgoing calls to people I don't know, but a phone without my details on it would be easier.

If someone were to kill someone else with a kitchen knife, does it matter who owned the knife, or just who used it?

Is the person who owned the knife guilty of murder, and the killer innocent because he only used but not owned the knife?

Just prior to TB's disappearance, there was still regular deliveries to MillardAir.....what would be delivered on a regular basis?

Video evidence tracing the truck's path, or next first person witness, e.g. MB and neighbours that saw the truck in MB's driveway, or more from DM's personal circle of associates?

It was an Etobicoke high school, not a strip mall.

It hasn't been proven who was using the phone or if they were using anothers phone, why? Not enough evidence to make a firm determination for me.

I don't think it matters the name or the address of the phone owner, it could have been lost and found a few times before it landed in DM's hands. I don't think it matters how the phone landed in his hands, either he purchased it under a false name/address or he found it, or someone gave it to him....the point is DM used it while walking up TB's driveway. JMO

It does not. For the purposes of this trial, which is what we are supposed to be discussing I believe, direct witness evidence has already been presented that DM was using the phone to set up test drives.
