Not that I mind, but I was certainly surprised as were we all. But the GJ's next date is next Monday, the 3rd. Must have been pretty compelling evidence!
Are the ME notes sent to the CPD or the DA, or WCSO? Do they have to be requested? Can they be used as evidence?
I was not surprised in a significant way since K & B requested the files and started blabbing
Not I; I remained completely clueless and after hearing Wade Smith's comment that the train was coming...maybe next year...maybe in 2 years...I figured we were in for a very long wait and I'm ashamed to admit I thought they might not have enough for Willoughby to charge him (no fault of the CPD, just that there might not have been enough to take the DA over the line). However, I'm very happy I was wrong on all accounts!

Hope he handles the case personally or at least closely supervises every step--we don't want this one getting away from them.
I was shocked he was arrested in the way he was. I expected him to be named a suspect first. But maybe they thought he was a flight risk or possibly suicidal.
Wonder what his mom is doing?
Oh, yes! I completely forgot about Dudley Dooright!! (We're aging ourselves, Cyber) I stand corrected!RD,
Don't be ridiculous! Of course there are bad guys in Canada! I mean, look they have the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, who "Always get their man!" and as a kid I used to watch Dudley Doright, I cannot count the number of times that he had to save Nell from the evil intentions of Snidely Whiplash....
J/K of course... I do know a few folk from Canada, and even had to make a trip to Nova Scotia late last year, very friendly folks as far as I have been able to tell.
CyberPro
BTW, did you happen to notice who signed the arrest warrant after it's completion (I uploaded the document into the legal folder above)?? Bet that was one arrest that was relished.
It's not too late! I should try to vote this weekend and get it out of the way to avoid the crush on Tues. As for the judges, I'm sure the prosecutors have mentally scoped out who they would prefer, but as long as the evidence is solid, it really shouldn't matter. Thank goodness there's no Ito here!Somehow I think it will be handled carefully, thoroughly, and agressively. I was wondering about the judges, but think we'll have to wait a couple of weeks for that speculation. Dang, I'm a bad citizen. Haven't voted yet, and can't remember who all is unopposed.
Actually in this county, the DA and police generally do not name the folks they're investigating. They say nothing publicly, do not refer to them publicly as either POI or suspects, and arrest when they're ready, without having 'named' them anything in the meantime.
I found it interesting that it was another female Magistrate - Brad has got be not liking all these female judges ruining his parade.
I know!! Not to mention he was sunk in the custody case by a female lawyer. Poetic, really.
It may be next year or two years before a trial yet. Once LE got the search warrants for Nancy's phone - to over ride the password and the FBI doing the computer forensics and MH trying to imply coercion - it made sense to me that LE was very very close to turning the case over to the DA even before the custody hearing.
