Sympathy should be reserved for victims of deadly addiction.
Addiction that robs people,
mainly young ones,
of dignity and the promise of happy & fulfilling life.

I am not excusing her actions, and am not arguing that she should not face the consequences of those actions. I can abhor the actions but still feel sympathy for all these young people who make horrible decisions that ruin their own lives and also hurt those who love them. The whole thing is just sad. I hope the ring leaders are found and prosecuted to the fullest.

Pregnant drug mule suspect tells mother she is expecting a baby boy

The teen, from Billingham Teesside, was stopped at Tbilisi airport back in May in a suspected sting operation and was found with drugs with a six-figure street value.

British teen drug mule suspect Bella Culley told her mother she is expecting a baby boy in a dramatic court hearing today.

The 19-year-old smiled at Lyanne Kennedy, 44, as she entered Tbilisi City Court in the Black Sea nation of Georgia where she is being held for allegedly smuggling 14kg of cannabis.

Bella, dressed in a grey turtleneck, was seen whispering to her lawyer, Malkhaz Salakaia, who then declared to Ms Kennedy: 'It's a boy!'



Ms Kennedy said outside court that she initially thought her daughter had been locked up in the American state of Georgia.

'It's been a pretty easy process, the solicitor is very good at what he does,' she said.

'I love Georgia, I love the buildings. It's a beautiful country, I've been here three times already, I'm going to visit Bella tomorrow. We initially thought it was Georgia in America.'

Asked how she felt on becoming a grandmother, she laughed and said: 'Not grandma - Nana!'

Why is that? I haven't seen a photo that looks as if she is pregnant. If she is 18 weeks as of early July, she would be obviously pregnant by now. I don't know what the laws are in Georgia with regard to privacy /medical disclosure. Meaning, while the court likely knows whether she is or isn't pregnant, are they able to release that information publicly? Could this be an attempt to sway public opinion and international influence upon the proceedings?

The teenager is pregnant and went through medical tests in recent days, with her mother becoming emotional in court after learning the gender of her unborn grandchild.

I don't understand her thinking in arriving in Thailand with £70? What was her plan for accommodation and food? Also, the juxtaposition of the "I don't do drugs" quote with the photo of her with a joint, in the Mail article! And her description of pregnancy as a labour of love.

Yeah, until I see an official press release from the Government of Georgia stating that she has had these medical tests and they have confirmed her pregnancy, I remain skeptical. Add to that all of the other pure BS coming from her legal team, I believe this could all be an attempt to leverage a plea deal.
