British Bella May Culley 18, missing from Thailand, arrested in Georgia, May 2025

I am conflicted about this. I do not want a baby born and live behind bars, even if it's for a short while.

But, the mom committed a crime and that doesn't go away just because she's pregnant.

She brought in a large amount of cannabis.

She should not get a slap on the wrist and have her parents bail her out.

Pregnant drugs mule suspect Bella Culley's distraught mother was seen visiting her daughter in Georgian prison today as lawyers say she may have to find £100,000 to free her.

Go Fund Me coming up very shortly .....
[Her mother] was spotted making animated gestures as she walked out of the gates beside the Teesside teenager's grandfather, William Culley, 82.

Ugh, I always cringe when elderly family members are affected by a crime. It's a shame their elder years cannot be peaceful.

Somehow I missed this family detail about the father until now, bbm

Lyanne [the mother] does not own a home in the UK while Bella's father Niel Culley, 49, lives in Vietnam meaning they are likely unable to remortgage or sell a property to raise the required funds.

I can't see anyone would want to contribute hard earned money to a drug mule's fund but I expect we'll see one announced shortly. JMO

I'll probably be wrong, but I don't think they'd dare start a Go Fund Me. Although I'm sure there'd be plenty of fools who'd contribute.

I actually think they will try and start one. They will make it about her being innocent and please think of the baby !

I seem to recall when this all originally blew up that the family was reported to live in Billingham, which is essentially the poorer end of Stockton. A lot of the housing stock there is ex-council property, either sold off in the 1980s under the Right to Buy scheme of the Thatcher government or transferred en masse to another not for profit social landlord. Some formerly sold individual properties have since found their way into the hands of private landlords, so they may be renting from a private landlord rather than a social housing organisation.

All of this is to say that even if the family owned the house they live in outright, it probably wouldn't be worth much more than £100k and possibly significantly less.

Come to think of it, do Go Fund Me's T&Cs permit raising funds to pay fines arising from criminal activity?

Do we know how much she was paid to run this drug smuggling errand?

I don't think that has been revealed. I think anything she says will be the complete truth.

Yes I agree

Fate is so fickle 😁

Instead of riches
she will get bankruptcy.
(dragging her family down with her)

Instead of being a famous SM diva
she has become infamous greedy "mule".

Let's hope it will be a well learnt life lesson.
For the sake of the innocent (alleged) baby boy.

If a person is not taught moral values,
It is usually for strangers to teach this person in a hard way

Let this case be a warning for others!

Not just a mule, but a donkey as well.

"Georgian lawyer Anna Putkaradze said:

'If the prosecution is calculating the fine based on the estimated street value of the drugs in Britain, rather than in Georgia.
I would estimate it at around £100,000.

The law does not literally say ‘exactly half,’
but according to the Customs Code and the practice of the Revenue Service,
when contraband goods are discovered, the fine is usually set at roughly 50%'.

She was arrested and held in May with £200,000 worth of drugs in the country after a flight from Thailand."

"Bella Culley's lawyer
criticises British embassy.

Malakhaz Salakaia, who specialises in juvenile law, said
he was 'dissatisfied' with the British authorities for not supporting his client.

The Foreign Office said
it was speaking to the 19-year-old's family
but confirmed only one in-person visit had been made to the prison, on 16 May.

The teenager is about five months pregnant
and Mr Salakaia said the embassy had not checked on her health."
