There is obviously something I have not considered so far, or completely missed. Why on earth would one of Bob's daughters threaten PE the former neighbour? All he said was nice or fair things about everyone! I must have missed something. He must have said something that made someone really angry. I bet everyone on this thread already knows the answers and this stupid newbie is still huffing and puffing trying to catch up..........

I suppose if I were drifting away from sweet and heading back to cynical, I would assume that there is/was something(s) that CA Exile knows that might be very very threatening to the person who attacked him. Financial woes might be enough to fit the bill...perhaps he has a much better idea of what the year between Georgia's death and Bob's marriage might have actually been like for Bob. Who spent time with Bob and who was noticeably absent.

I think that is the difficulty when you have someone like him drift in to a conversation about a disappearance-he brought some of the real with him. He helped all of us to flesh out the real Bob. He helped us understand the man who was brought back to life by the woman he had never forgotten for so many years.

Another post from that same former WS member:

ShowMe

Mr Harrod was going to 'take it out on the world'?

What does that mean? Posted by one of his own daughters, when he had just gone missing?

Surely not? Could this be a mistake? She is making him sound like my uncle, a psychopathic murderer, not the victim he surely is. I hate to query but is this really, really, a post from a relative of Bob? What on earth can it mean?

I'm a bit upset now.

I cant and wont speak for CL, of course, but I get that kind of fear. I mean in all of the time she had been working for him, it seems that it was pretty much same old, same old.

Until that day, when absolutely nothing was the same.

It would unnerve me. I am willing to give her a pass on not calling LE because a family member was in the house and apparently unconcerned. Perhaps she figured he knew something she didnt know.

But this was an elderly man.

You raise a good point about GrainneDhu-why didnt everyone leap to the possibility that Bob was injured? Why didnt someone, oh like AH who was a block away, go over and break a window to try and get in just in case Bob couldnt speak for himself?

My personal belief is that the black SUV stuff is pure nonsense-in any case, if this was a 10 minute event, clearly JeM would have been able to record the license plate and LE would have known out of the gate whether or not it was BL. The Lic number wasnt given to Fontelle-It isnt on the MP report. It isnt on the police report of the well being check.

It's because it wasnt BL or her family-in fact, I seriously doubt it existed at all. JMO.

Seems there were some back-up theories as well. Just in case the "barber did it" theory didn't pan out.

"After Bob disappeared, someone -- police won't say who -- told officers he might have regretted the decision to marry. For three days police thought they were dealing with a case of cold feet."

OMGosh-I completely forgot about the line up.

The dementia comment made me sad. I mean this is a double edged sword for JuM-if Bob had been showing signs of this, they should be ashamed of themselves for not taking care of the well being check and searching for him themselves much much earlier. This would be an endangered elder-it would be just about abusive of them to have left him twisting in the wind for 10-12 hours before they got around to having PD meet them at the house.

Let's get back to the key thing-surely those who were physically closest to Bob had sets of keys to his house, right? They could have checked his home themselves, especially AH given his proximity. :banghead:

Sorry Angelo, I am not doubting you, that bumped post just caught me completely by surprise.

Aaaahhh, I'm cross now! So Bob had bad knees, dementia (this is a clinical condition not forgetfulness) but a family member? told LE it was probably a case of cold feet and he had taken off on his own violition?
Like where? Where did Mr Harrod usually 'take off' to?
And if he didn't usually take off then the person who suggested he had and caused a vital, three-day delay should hang their head in shame.
Bet my bottom dollar it wasn't Fontelle.
Okay, over to the keys now........just thinking.

help me ponder the key thing, zwiebel-this is where I get stuck every time. Was the house locked up after the last person left, and if so did it require keys to lock the house?

If the house was locked, didnt those who lived close to Bob have copies of the keys to the house? Surely AH did. He was the family member who was physically closest-it makes the most sense.

JuM and JeM used to live next door to Bob, AND SIL was (possibly) the last person in the house. They must have had keys-right?

Those of you with better memories might be able to tell me if the house was locked when the well being check was done. If it was, who provided the keys to PPD to get it open?

ETA: I keep hitting on the key thing because Bob didnt leave CL keys the day he disappeared even though he knew she would be coming. So, he didnt expect to be gone when she arrived I would think.

We know Bob had keys on him, at least it is fair to assume he did.

Wait a minute-in the Disappeared teaser, JeM indicated to CL that he left the backdoor open, and it took him a while to get to the front door to let her in.

So I guess he didnt have keys because otherwise he would have simply unlocked the front door while she was standing there, right?

Maybe he forgot to bring his set with him that day.

It appears that these backup theories are being attributed to the daughters. Is there any information from LE to suggest that this was from them?

Perhaps it was LE themselves which thought this.

IIRC he had to get the keys from the neighbor.

I will refer you back to AH's depo which he states under oath whether he did or did not.

For anyone that watched any of the video regarding Bob, not only was it stated that he had difficulty walking even in his own home/backyard but as well as the walks he took.

Has no one paid any attention to the information in these videos?

There are not many that once you hit certain ages that you can become "forgetful". I am "forgetful" and I am not even close to that age.

Some may refer to it as "dementia". I put it down to being "blonde" and wearing a "straight jacket in MY asylum" (need to TM spelling of Straight Jacket.

'someone...told officers' is highly suggestive that this wasn't a theory LE thought up by themselves.

The dementia theory is attributed to JuM.

"Michaels says her father had been showing signs of dementia and can hardly walk two blocks because of his bad knees."

As for the "cold feet" theory I am not sure, but I have pulled up some postings daughter RB posted on the WWW after her father disappeared.

(8/6/2009) "Who really knows -- I guess he could have become leary that this time he bit off more than he could chew and did it too quickly. We just do not know what to think."

(8/16/2009) "Good, Bad, or indifferent, we are a family and he is OUR father! He abandoned us too and this is not like him!"

(8/14/2009) "POI statement that daughters are hiding D - I don't think so! We would so gladly return him home to F, instead of hiding him. Get real POI! He will have to face up to what he has done to Fontelle and make a decision whether he wants to stay married or not, whatever that decision might be, his daughters will have to accept it, period!"

(8/14/2009) "We don't mean to be non supportive but we really do not know why he left the house two days before she returned. They got married 6/29, she returned to MO 7/7, and came back to CA 7/29. They had only 8 days of marital bliss together. They spent eight days of "marital bliss" and then poof, he takes off with no explanation."

(8/21/2009) "I cannot understand who our Dad turned out to be and why he would just walk away from everything he worked so hard for, when he was fully aware F would be back in less than two days. Who is this stranger who gave up the chance for a new life with a new wife? Perhaps we never knew him or he had a problem he told nobody about...."

Just to close the loop on CA Exile being threatened by one of Bob's daughters:

shana's link

It certainly did not stop him from posting further did it? I have reviewed his posts and it did not appear to me that was the reason he discontinued posting here.

Maybe instead it should be asked why so many that are here no longer post in this thread.

Since when can a crime only be committed by individuals not working? I simply have to ask as it totally blows my mind away?

We know the BL received funds not only from Bob but as well as from another male gentleman.

We know she was not the only person to be on the receiving end. Her daughter was as well.

This is an article with respect to JuM donating a kidney. <modsnip>...

Donating a Miracle

Julie Michaels had only a passing acquaintance with Carrie Mehdi. But that didn't stop her from giving Mehdi a lifesaving gift--a kidney

Perhaps he had a set of keys but did not want the CL to know that. Hence the "unlocked" back door.

If Mr. Harrod was home when JeM went on his errand why the need to leave the back door unlocked?
