In JM's own words, she wants nothing from the house, is waiting for her father to return and has no real knowlege of the items being distributed.

Oh, but-a slew of items on the memorabilia list "belong" to her and to the other JM, she left it open to accumulate yet more and I suspect there are ROS's (return of service, multiples) for any action that has been taken, agreed on and litigated to date.

I mean really. It would be humerous if this were not about a missing presumed dead man. :(

Agreed, and even since that post, she has promoted a 'community awareness' campaign about the value of RotW, and has appealed for a 'community effort'. She's run some numbers on how small donations could accumulate into a meaningful amount. Even talk about cashing in on recyclables. Where was all of this effort, thought, and passion with regard to solving the 'mystery' of her father's disappearance, when last seen by her husband? Where was the fund-raising for search efforts, a publicity campaign, or a reward? What are the priorities, and why?

Compare those efforts with this example of awareness campaign from August 11, 2009:

Thanks Dave, Jeff has been canvasing OC and posting fliers, I believe the PD has been also doing this as well. I will let you know if we need assistance. The best thing to do is to look out for him, memorize his face; if you believe you have possibly sighted him, call the PD ASAP and do not allow him out of your sight.

The owner of the community forum where daughter JM posts advised they were going to shut the website down. JM was quick to post that she:
  • Is willing to help with a fund raising campaign.
  • Knows all of the Office software. Will do spreadsheets, emails, follow-ups, anything to help.
  • Wants to make higher payments to the site just to make a better dent in aiding the site.
IMO, this is the kind of urgency and action one would hope to see about her missing father, not about a website that is going to be shut down.

I shouldn't be dumbfounded. I really shouldn't be.

Her posts speak to her priorities.

Okay I had to pop in again.

"Do not let him out of your sight"

My god, she is talking about her missing father.

Surely, Angelo, if you read between the lines, you can read the subtext present about wishing for help in finding her missing father (or his killer). Or perhaps not -- to do so you might need the kind of literary skills that would confuse 'Joe Vs. the Volcano' with 'Rashomon'.

Hands up if you have ever heard of the police department posting flyers? Instead of investigating the case? I mean really.

I keep repeating myself. My needle is stuck, lol.

:silly:

That was funny.

Just bumping to get this thread back on page 1.
Still reading here every day, hoping for justice for Bob and Fontelle.

I know! This man deserves to be brought home to those that love him. :-(

Anyone but me find the lawsuit against JP absurd but concerning given that it involves a material witness to Bob's disppearance?

Let's think this through, shall we...Hypothetically speaking...we have a man in full control of his faculties distributing his own money how and where he pleased...perhaps two figures to this daughter, that daughter, and the other. Perhaps a man who just wanted to spread some happieness because he could. He owned his GS home, the home another daughter lived in, and if I were a betting person I would suspect he had a lot to do with another daughter's spacious house that would be tough to maintain on disability. ;)

So I have to ask myself who would have the stones to pursue those outside of the immediate family for monies given freely, yet there doesnt seem to be the same appetite for pursuing one of their own who has a legitimate contract with the trust to return money that was borrowed. Money that was not given freely, but was loaned. I wonder how many loans have actually been paid back to the Harrod Family Trust.

Undoubtedly the audit meticulously spells all of that out.

Absurd isn't the word for it. Perhaps a practise run for when the estate must seek the funds owed by immediate family members? I see this being about as succesful for Bobs daughters as trying to throw say a nearby mountain.

I would say the JM and JM were the most successful of the three girls and spouses if you base that upon the size of their home and their other possessions. Self proclaimed, of course. So I have to ask myself what kind of work did the two of them do that allowed the purchase of the home, plus any renovation and maitenance of it? What if, for example, the seed money was loaned out of the trust...was it paid back?

Ah well, just speculation. I am looking forward to the next set of docs available to the public that include the completed audit. Crickets are chirping, I noticed, regarding the ex parte motion.

So we wait and wonder where poor Bob is. Hats off to Fontelle for staying so strong.

I think it is manipulative and reprehensible. I think if Bob were here to call ALL his markers in, it would be VERY interesting!

I am saddened and outraged for Bob and Fontelle and Bob's friends. I cant help but feel some compassion for RB given the distasteful task she was given of denuding her fathers home....regardless of her desire on paper to do it. Clearly she was troubled by it given her significant outbursts....perhaps in the end she is the one with the most conscience. Again, pure speculation given the behaviors I have read and seen since the disappearance/death of their father.

Just reading item # 66 on Julie's long list of items she wants from her father's house:

66. Give us a chance to go through the house and take items we cannot recall until we see.

I keep reading all the comments about what was in Bob’s house and who wants what…. then request #66 about needing to “go though the house…” The following may give some insight: :twocents:
J&J M used to live next door to their father, Bob, and their ill mother here on
Carnation Street in Placentia. B&G had moved next door to J&J to be close to
them in the early 90’s. I am trying to remember when J&J moved, must have been 2005-6 sometime. Back then, none of us could figure out why J&J moved, especially since her mother was sick and their only son and only grandchildren lived just around the corner.
Bob took care of Georgia the whole time during her illness and she passed away in 2008. Where were the girls to help? The girls lived close by, but their cars were seldom seen in front of B&G’s house during Georgia’s illness. If one came to visit and B&G were not home, they had to get a key to their parent’s home from a neighbor.
Bob and Georgia provided all their girls and grandson with homes and paid many of their bills. Not many parents are able to do that for their children. So, now, Bob is missing! And again, not one in the family is stepping forward to help with the truth… not even one…

Respectfully snipped. Agreed. The only efforts Bobs daughters have put forth in the search for their missing father is to twist the truth as they see it - justify the actions of the person responsible for disappearing their father and to try and influence the public their missing father is not worth finding.

So the daughters didn't think enough of their mom to visit much when she was sick. I'm going to bet that after Georgia died, Bob witnessed his daughters acting like vultures trying to get their mothers things and money. Much like we have seen the daughters go after Bob's possesions and money. I wonder if they gave Bob a list as well? I bet there was alot of yelling, threats and temper tantrums like there is now. That family meeting the night before Bob was murdered must have been a doozey.

I am confused. This is the mother that they have put on a pedestal, right? The one that they post so warmly about on the www. She is actively dying and no one comes to help care for her?

I guess it isnt any wonder that Bob possibly invested in someone who actually cared enough to come to the house and do Georgia's hair while she was failing.

How incredibly sad :(

It's possible that she was put on a pedestal posthumously as a counterpoint to the image of Bob that the daughters put forward after he was murdered. Not being there for their mother when her health was failing is inexcusable.

And I think it ties into one of Teamer's points -- had they been there for Georgia, they would have been very familiar with the household items in general, and that they considered mementos of her, and hence would not needed to include a catch-all request, and repeat it at the end of the list.
