I would think the call the family made to authorities was recorded. If it was and the videos referenced, LE blew it off. I would be in a rage if I found out after my child was killed

I do not think they blew it off BUT if there are ref to blogs in the call then LE ..............

was er small in stature. what was his height and weight, if we know it. thanks

Yes. He was short and that seem to upset him greatly. He was even jealous of his little half brother because the boy was tall for his age.

I stayed up half the night reading the manifesto and by the time I finished reading it, I was too mentally exhausted, angry, and horrified to post my opinions on it until I got my mind together and slept on it.

First and foremost, I do want to say this. I don't care if ER claims to be a virgin, if I was LE, I would be looking into every and all unsolved sexual assault cases in the areas he lived since High School.

Now, onto the manifesto. Warning: These are my opinions. They may not be very popular.

Elementary Age 5-10

ER was a hateful little boy. I didn't see a boy being viciously teased or even bullied. I seen a young boy who thought he was above anything and anybody. Nobody was ever good enough for HIM! Nothing was ever good enough for HIM. Including his parents and his sister. His treatment and opinions of his little sister during this time in his life disturb me the most. She was beneath him even as a young boy. I question whether or not she was the victim of hidden abuse at the hands of her brother, both verbal and physical, during this timeframe.

And the tantrums!?!?!?! My God!! This would be a constant his entire life!! And they were tantrums!!

I'm not going to go through every single incident I found disturbing because there are way too many. I will say what I did take from this period in his life... He was evil to the core. Yes, even as a child. The film "Bad Seed" immediately came to mind.

Middle School 11-13

Again, he HAD friends and girls were even talking to him and hugging him. Oh, but that wasn't good enough for him!! Nope! He expected more! He should have been treated like a KING by any and all!! He deserved it!

This is also the age where he became so involved with video games. His step-mother was the ONLY one to see an issue with his online gaming and put a stop to it when he was staying at their house and boy did he HATE her for it! She was the only adult in his life who made consequences a reality in his world and I'll give the father credit for backing up his wife, but that is all I will give him credit for in this period of ER's life. When he was staying with his mother, he talked about staying out until 3am with friends playing video games at a store down the street.

I won't get into all the disturbing moments during this part of his life because again, there are just too many. What I came away with was that he was a SOCIOPATH and a dangerous one!

High School 14-18

Sex. Sex. Sex. I am OWED sex!! Oh, he can't fool me with that talk of "love" because I see right through his own words. He didn't want love! He wanted girls to do what he expected of them! To desire HIM and have sex with HIM and only HIM! He didn't have a hard time making friends! He simply didn't want friends! He wanted slaves! He wanted people to serve him! And he hated that they didn't.

Money. Money. Money. Although he lived a far more opulent lifestyle than 98% of Americans, it still wasn't good enough for him. He deserved more! His father going through a financial crisis... he took it as his father being selfish, a bum, and idiot. His mother not marrying that rich man with a house in Malibu... he took it as a personal insult to HIM because HE deserved to live the life of another man worked for.

Every house. Every bedroom. Every apartment. Every condo. Every neighborhood. Every car. Every vacation. Nothing was good enough for him!

I was so flipping happy when the Step-Mother kicked him out of her home when he turned 18!! And I am happy that the father backed his wife up. However... by this time I was NOT shocked by ER's reaction to this. In his mind, HE was entitled to that HOME as the first born SON! It was HIS! Not some lowly woman (he used a lot worse words to describe the step mother) who was below him!!

Again, I will not get into every single disturbing moment, but I stand by my statement about LE checking into any unsolved sexual assaults! I don't care if he says he was a virgin! I don't put it past him raping a woman and still considering himself a virgin because a girl didn't willingly give it up.

College - 18-22

I'm going to have to take a break.

Clicking the thanks button was not enough. Thank you so much for this post! I felt the exact same things when I read his "manifesto". Sick, twisted boy that grew up to be a sick twisted young man. Thank goodness he died as well. Yes, I know, that sounds harsh but in today's world had he lived I do believe he would have gotten off for his crimes.

I am glad as well. He could have gotten off on not guilty by reason of insanity. And he could have gotten a girlfriend he always wanted (or at least claimed to have wanted). No kidding.

I hope we don't learn that police blew this off, but I think this will be the case.

I think they need to explore a second form of Aspberger's. Kinda like diabetes mellitus type 1 and type 2.

Or call it Asperger's and A$$buggers....
I have never seen an aspie that wasn't a nurturer, or malignant narcisst with a comorbid diagnosis of Asperger's...

Yes, he did. Lichin is ER's mom, looks like she kept the last name after divorcing. Eta- Jenni- who you quoted, is another relative, not the step mom.
Picture of mom.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...revealed-investigators-search-moms-house.html

Adding:

Ok, wait. Is the dad remarried?

From article:

"Ms Rodger said she had only met Elliot three times, and the last time 'a few years ago and only for a few minutes."

I guess Ms. Rodger is Jenni Rodger, not ER's mother. A relative? But the photo is of his mother, Lichin.

If so I think I found a photo of his biological mom and sister but not sure if it is ok to post that?

And according to the article, it says that ER was a very mentally sick boy and had been to a therapist since the age of 8 (almost daily at times). It says that he had been diagnosed with Asperger's as well.

The article claims that his father is blaming it on guns (I feel worth mentioning the father's validity in the easy accessibility for obtaining guns-and of course the article is a UK paper) yet I also feel the father should be mindful and cautious about throwing blame around.

Afterall, the father did allow a very mentally unstable young man to move out of his house with very little support. It almost feels like his parents couldn't deal with his anger and pathology any longer so they tossed their hands up, let the dice roll, and society as a whole is the unsuspecting victim.

I understand parent's denial about their children but seriously, this has to stop. ER was never going to be a self-supporting, functioning part of our society. The symptoms of the gravity of his illness appeared a long time ago.

Considering parents have been divorced for a long time, I don't think this young man has been living with his father in a long time.
From the manifesto, ER took the divorce very hard.

Sheriffs never saw menacing videos before California rampage

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/05/25/sheriffs-never-saw-menacing-videos-before-california-rampage/

"The sheriff's office "was not aware of any videos until after the shooting rampage occurred," Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kelly Hoover told The Associated Press."

This is confusing to me...

even if the mom had not mentioned the videos when she asked LE to make a welfare check on ER....

Didn't we read/hear that a social worker (or mental health person) alerted LE regarding the videos between the days that mom alerted LE ... And Friday's rampage?

She might have not even realized he had a youtube with these videos.

Is thought the you tube videos were what prompted her to call LE to make a welfare check on ER... But do we know if she mentioned the videos?

Or did she just mention she was worried about him?

quite confusing...

I haven't read that. Also ER took all the videos from youtube after police visited him. So seems unlikely somebody could have alerted police about the videos after police visited him, since the videos were no longer on-line. He then posted them back right before the rampage.
