@ 13:15 RH and her lawyer leave room where she met with detectives.

I hope he told her to come clean, at least to where the baby is.

The suspect who talks first gets the better deal. imo (And, no, that doesn't mean I am defending her.)

Is that a fresh black eye at 13:15?

It looks like it might be...

I think it is still the old one - still healing, it appears to now be in the black and greenish phase to me (almost healed)

And AFTER LE shows them this video, they took cadaver dogs to the house, and they dug holes in the yard and dug under the flooring, looking for the baby.

go to 12:35 on the following link----to see the attorney say that^^^^ [interview with CBS local news]

How does police taking cadaver dogs to the house after showing the parents this video make the lawyer think the footage corroborated her story?
Same with how he asked why the police have not released a missing poster after it became known that the poster that was out, had the ph# from one of the parents on it (and since, not in service)

Does the lawyer think that she was hit by the invisible man??

I agree with you about the pictures. I saw one in particular where if I didn't know he was alive in that picture I would have thought he was dead.

Even if RH had "fallen" in the video, how does the attorney think the baby was kidnapped if there was no one else in the video?
That's the question, isn't it?

...any chance this is another language/translation barrier?

I think this is really a big deal, that LE has video of RH, in her parking spot by Big5. I am pretty certain there is no sign of an abduction or her baby boy in that video.

That viewing of the video, while police were interrogating her, must have been excruciatingly awkward. Suddenly she KNOWS that they know. Her immediate reaction was to stop the interview and leave. But this isn't over.

I hope she gets her own attorney because her husband's attorney is going to try and pin it all on her, like he did with the assault upon the 10 day old baby. IMO
Are they getting public defenders? If not where are they getting money? Do any of them work?

That's unlikely considering he was able to pass the notoriously difficult California bar exam. He must have a decent command of English and he sounded like a native English speaker to me.

His appears to be a private attorney who represented him previously. Unclear if she's got a PD or not.

Edit: wait, actually she definitely doesn't have a PD. They haven't been charged with anything yet. So, it definitely has to be a private attorney. You don't get a PD until you've actually been charged with something (at least in my jurisdiction--California is weird so I could be wrong. I'm also not a criminal lawyer.)

The lawyer said that the video 'shows something falling down, then getting up.' And he then says that corroborates Rebecca's story. >>> NO, sorry it doesn't.

This is what confuses me. If she fell down and got up right away, although I know she said “everything went white,” wouldn’t she still be within sight and earshot to know at least SOMETHING about which direction the “kidnapper” fled? Or any detail at all? She wasn’t unconscious.

And yes, that black eye would not have looked like that immediately.

But IMO, her vile husband probably battered this poor baby for his whole life, and RH was probably beaten as well. So she goes along with him like many battered partners do.

I feel terrible for RH if she is, as is possible, a victim of DV. I understand women in these situations feel trapped and afraid to leave. That black eye is not new.

BUT your child in danger should be the inflection point. Scary as it is if you’re a victim of DV, she was capable of making choices. Especially since she was now freely able to tell LE.

Emmanuel could not make choices. Neither could his ten-week old half sister.

This as I understand is often the point when a battered woman, if she is, draws the line if her children are being assaulted. This baby had absolutely no means of defense.

Frankly I don’t care at this point. Her kids are safe and she’s still not speaking up

But also there nothing that says this wasn’t more or equally her so can’t figure out why we are defending her already
I don't see anyone defending her. I certainly don't.

Wrong use of words maybe so apologies to you and others who may be in that boat.

Someone needs to give it up. Worst knowing sweet baby is out there somewhere and not saying anything. My own opinion.

This poor sweet baby.

Agreed. If the video the police showed them was the one where "something falls and gets back up," they had to know the jig was up at that point. Dragging it out is doing to make it worse.

It bothers me that his little fists are always clinched as if frozen.
