Prosecution Deputy DA Beth Silverman keeps going for hours. Here, she is pointing out everybody's role in the murder, and how Monica aided and abetted. Okay, lunch now, but Silverman already said she'd be continuing after lunch.

Someone in the chat mentioned "this is a master class from Ms. Silverman" during closing arguments

Deputy DA Silverman is not going to leave a shred of doubt in the Juror's minds that Monica aided & abetted, and was a ringleader in the planning of the murder of her own husband. I have to agree with some on that chat that Silverman's voice can get too much after the first hour. However, she's remarkable. I understand that she's paid a bit higher in salary than most in her position. I also found an article about her fearlessly filing a civil suit taking her former supervisor to court for sexual harassments.

Back finally. DA Silverman gets right up to the Jury Box and presents the Jurors with her facts & logic tying Monica to the surveillance of Fabio and in-depth planning to kill him. Reminding Jurors of Monica's secret behavior, the sneaking around with Baker, and how they were in constant, constant, constant communication. And then, the meet-up at the Target parking lot.

Bringing up Sal, from Wella, getting a call from the defendant, and also Obad, pestering him to get info to do with the life insurance. A co-worker of Fabio's, Sam Polaris, became aware how Monica knew plenty about Fabio's assets, what numerous financial elements including the stock options, etc., Fabio, in front of defendant, said all the stock, etc., would go to Monica. She boasted she managed and handled the family's finances. Monica even said Fabio was worth more dead to her than alive.

From my understanding--
Going over all the assets and the miscalculations Henry had to correct against Monica's estimates. Monica lied saying Fabio took care of all the financials and their assets. The opposite of what she boasted to Sam and the Wella crowd.

Oh, goody, recess for 15 minutes!

I'm barely hanging on by a thread. Four plus hours of straight listening for Jurors might be enough to think about now.

People who tried to help Monica while she was whining about money troubles. She bugged everyone about why her insurance money was NOT being released to her. Monica even made obsessive contact to Wella about wanting to obtain Fabio's frequent flying mileage!

1743722168370.webp Moving onto a related topic, but I see Silverman still has a lot of pages left to go over in her notebook. I'm tired, she is not.

Oh boy, Monica finds out she may actually get the insurance money. She doesn't call her daughters, or her sister, or any of the people trying to help her. She immediately calls Robert Baker!!!

ETA-- Court over for the day! Back 9 a.m. tomorrow.

For anyone that has not been able to follow the trial like they would like too .. I went back and listened to Mitzi Roberts testimony and filled in a few things from Sy Ray's testimony and made a time line of the day of Fabios murder. Thanks so much for this. TBH, I find the most damning part of this entire timeline to be the IM that Monica sent her daughter saying don’t be late. It seems quite obvious she wanted to be certain that her daughter left the house when she was supposed to leave.

Well that… and the fact that she and Baker were at the same Target, at the same time, immediately before Baker traveled to her house to commit the crime.

If the jury doesn’t find her guilty, something is way wrong.

I agree those circumstances are damning and also what shocked me and convinced me of her guilt early on was the fact that she was viewing the home security cameras while she was at Target after Baker left, so she would have been watching when Baker arrived at her home to kill Fabio.

I found it chilling when Silverman pointed out to the Jury that if Monica's daughter had arrived home just 5 minutes earlier than she did, then she would likely have also been murdered.

I feel the defense’s ONLY chance will be to highlight this. AND the thought that there’s literally no way Monica would give up her pretty posh life for the likes of a Rob Baker.
But, she did. She got caught up in the lust and thrill (ugh…vomit) of Rob Baker and must have experienced a thrill she’d never had before.

I saw something pop up the other day regarding Chris Watts (killed wife and daughters in 2018) and realized Monica and Chris are the same person. Both killed their spouses over a new highly charged relationship.
