What I saw out of all of this was her offering reward money for her dogs with no questions asked but not no questions asked about the shooting. They were mutual removed from each other. I don’t like this trend of stealing dogs. My dogs are my kids, as I don’t have any biological ones and I would defend them as much as I defend myself or other people.

Lady Gaga's dogs recovered safely

Associated Press release

A woman brought the dogs to the LAPD’s Olympic Community Police Station, just northwest of downtown, around 6 p.m, said Capt. Jonathan Tippett, commanding officer of the elite Robbery-Homicide Division.

Lady Gaga’s representative and detectives went to the station and confirmed that they were the dogs.

The singer is currently in Rome to film a movie.

The woman who dropped off the dogs appears to be “”uninvolved and unassociated” with Wednesday night’s attack, Tippett said.

It wasn’t immediately clear how she obtained the dogs.


As a WSer, if I saw dogs that looked like them I'd be calling police, taking pics and telling police how to do touch DNA on the dogs collars etc. And of course, telling Gaga to give that 500K to a charity or turn it into a reward for arrest and conviction for Ryan's shooting when LE says that can/should be done.

What a relief that the dogs are safe. As a former dog owner this was my biggest fear, have my furbaby stolen. Now we need justice and a speedy recovery for RF.

Based on the shape of the headlights and the tail lights in the video, it looks to me like a white Dodge Neon. If police could cross reference that vehicle with all armed robberies in the area they could find potential suspects or find a radius in which to increase patrols and possibly locate the vehicle. JMO.

Just wondering where the sympathy is for the poor man who was shot. Has the dogs owner mentioned him. If so I haven't heard it, but then again I haven't been following that closely.

Anyway to me it seems the dog walker hardly gets a mention.

Yes, Gaga released a statement saying Ryan (dog walker) is a hero for risking his life trying to fight for the dogs.

MOO. The police weren't saying anything about the status of the woman and the award, it was MOO a statement that they (the police) don't know about the award and the woman, it is between Gaga and the woman.
If she is uninvolved or even was involved enough to grab the dogs and run, MOO she will get the money.
Rewards are meant to loosen confederate criminals.
The men attempted murder during a robbery, that's the police focus.

We don’t know that Lady Gaga is not doing something to help her dog walker and friend. We just know she offered a large sum of money for the dogs. It is not mutually exclusive.

I agree with you. Its.... possible that Gaga is doing any number of things in apparent secrecy (press coverage seems pretty extensive and has many sources).

Likewise, its possible that Gaga is currently say, developing comprehensive plans to do any number of things in the near future.

In the end, given Gaga's wealth, she has a lot of "possibles" regarding a lot of things. But...... from what is known, Gaga's focus seems to be far more on the dogs than the human element.

Then again, we are different people and have a different perspective.

If it were me, I would certainly deny that large reward, and to ask her to give it to animal charities or LE charities or ???. LE not involved so he cannot speak to it?

The dogs were perhaps released due to unexpected focus and outrage of the shooting, so there is that good that came out of such that folks may have been giving tips to catch the shooters.

In the end, the "no questions" element is probably based on:

- No questions from Gaga. But.... Gaga and the police are separate entities- and the police may well have questions.

I think the statement is the police stating that the reward is a private matter and that they are not involved in it.

I am vaguely aware that rewards that are affirmed by the police are verified and placed in the custody of a third party for potential payment. An independent reviewer approved by the police then determines if the conditions for the reward have been met. Likewise, the reviewer can determine if the reward is to be shared etc.

But.... rewards not affirmed by the police for what ever reason (potentially disruptive or in one case involving a cave diving accident body recovery- risking the lives of collectors) are purely private matters.
