Such an amazing night. As I went to bed last night, one of the last posts I read was about the lack of family or media. I said a little prayer, but went to bed a little worried. So glad things turned out so well!
The photos really help those of us who can't be there to better understand the whole area. I'm more convinced now than ever that she wasn't taking a slow walk in the rain. To cover that much ground in approximately 20 minutes AND in the pouring rain?! If she were trying to leave voluntarily in a prearranged meeting with someone, why would she spend so much of her route out in the open where she would get soaking wet? The mass majority of girls/women would never do that - especially those who worry about their hair, clothes, and make up. We instead would have someone pull up to a protected area right outside the door and pick us up there so we wouldn't get wet at all - or as little as possible.
As far as the detective and the media comment, I would take that with a grain of salt and not let it worry or stop your efforts for one second. Like code4sar, sirenriot, elle*bee, budgiebee, and others have said it sounds like a hollow threat (for lack of a better suited word) - especially when it contradicts their own classification of her disappearance. My suspicion is the LAPD has suddenly been in the media, both local and national, over abducted women a lot lately. I'm sure it's attention they aren't real excited about especially since they haven't solved any of these crimes. I can't imagine that makes them look good and tensions for them internally have to be running high because they haven't stopped or solved these abductions.
Just focus on this - in two of the abductions, Papini and Stacy, where there was high profile and wide scale media attention both of those women came home alive. So don't let up for a second.
