Live coverage. Apparently Billy Crystal and Larry David were on scene crying.
They just did a reboot of Spinal Tap.I don't know any recent movie news about him (honestly, I love him but I'm the last person to ask about current stuff coming out of Hollywood) but I can't help but think of Gene and Betsy Hackman. Not sure if something medical would be any easier to accept than any other scenario, though. 78 is not 95, for one thing.
I was just thinking the same thing. When Spinal Tap 2 came out this fall, I was telling my adult son that way-back-when, Rob Reiner played Meathead - and I remember being a kid and my dad laughing at the show All in the Family. I mentioned how Rob Reiner's career has essentially spanned my life. Talented, creative, funny man.He has made me laugh, most of my life. What on earth happened?
I missed it in the theater, and I saw in a TV listing today that HBO Max was going to show it tonight. (I don't have that channel.) I had not been able to watch the first movie ever since Tony Hendra's daughter made very credible accusations that he SA'ed her. They just did a reboot of Spinal Tap.
I will forever remember him (fondly!) as Meathead.I was just thinking the same thing. Upsetting news.
Rest in peace.
He tried to use his son’s experience to help others, this is one of many interviews from that time. They have a very troubled son.. hope he didn’t/doesn’t relapse.
You're right he spanned my life also! He will always be Meathead but he became and contributed so much more in his lifetime. I'm sure his wife did also. I'll have to Google her.I was just thinking the same thing. All in a weekend and here we are so extra aware of it all. What a tragic week this has been.
What is it actually, a three-day span in which there was a mass murder at Brown, a horrific targeted mass murder of Jews in Australia, and now Rob Reiner and wife are stabbed to death in their home?
Lord this world is berserk sometimes.
JMO and feeling very heartbroken.
American tragedy.![]()
