He's wearing different clothing, and apparently different backpacks, in these two videos.

The video in @Cindizzi's post, from the New York Post, appears to be at just after midnight Sunday, if the cctv clock is correct.
I think I had read earlier that the gas station video was an hour off.
Sorry I don’t have the link handy.

I’m wondering if the change in backpacks is because he has bloody clothes in one of them and is either walking around with them or they were disposed of in the black backpack.

I wonder how NYP could possibly determine the identity of a man walking down the street at night.

But why stick around to torment your parents? If you want to prove you’re “better” than them, leave and make your own way in the world. If you resent being dependent on them, go out and prove you can do it.

In a way, this horrible incident reminds me of Tarzan actor Ron Ely’s son Cameron who became angry and killed his mother. Police responding to the 911 call killed the son in self defense.

Cameron also had problems with drug addiction and was still living at home despite graduating from Harvard. In the 911 call, he tried to blame his father for the murder. His father later sued the city and police for killing his son.
Was he successful? In suing city & police.

That’s their job ma’am.

I wonder if he had an app on his phone that shared his location with family.

I just don’t get it, this is very sad to read on so many levels. (sorry, cant seem to fix the line strokes???)

Rob Reiner’s son Nick issued an eerie warning years before his parents’ brutal murders.

The 32-year-old told “Access Hollywood” viewers in a 2016 sitdown that he “get crazy,” adding, “You don’t want to set me off.”

His dad burst into laughter at the quip…..

…….Rob was asked whether he ever worried his son’s own substance abuse struggles would “shine poorly on [is] career.”

The director insisted, “That never crossed my mind. In my opinion, the reason they’re taking — whether it’s drugs or alcohol or gambling, whatever — they’re doing what they’re doing because there’s a pain.

“There’s something inside,” the “All in the Family” alum continued. “They don’t feel good. They don’t feel good about themselves when they’re self-medicating. So [it’s important to] try to understand why they’re self-medicating.”

He noted that Nick is “more important than anything that could happen” to him.

On Sunday, Nick was arrested on murder charges after Rob and wife Michele Reiner were stabbed to death in their Brentwood, Calif., home.

Their job? I don’t think so, news stories do not come with accuracy guarantees. LAPD already forewarned the public about unofficial sources of information.

So, who could be the anonymous friend? That report of the daughter mentioning her brother as "dangerous" was in the very first reports

This is the NYT from last night, without the paywall. So, who could be the anonymous friend? That report of the daughter mentioning her brother as "dangerous" was in the very first reports on Sunday.

Paywall. :(

I guess the poor parents had no idea how far he could really go with his anger.:(

It's unfortunate that Nick's behaviour affected so many others. Bill Hader has mentioned on Conan's podcast that he's struggled with depression in the past. I can't imagine how this has affected him. I hope he finds a way to cope with it.

Hader calmly responded to Nick that he was engaged in a private conversation, according to someone with knowledge of the situation. Nick glared at him for what felt like an uncomfortable amount of time.

Some time later, shouts echoed. All conversations stopped and turned toward the racket. Two men, arguing. It was Rob and his son, having it out over Nick’s asocial and unsettling behavior.

Minutes later, the Reiners, mortified, apologized to O’Brien and left the party. It has not been determined if Nick left with them.

Conan O’Brien Threw a Holiday Party to Forget a Bad Year. Then Nick Reiner Arrived.

Thank you for the advice, that worked, must’ve hit the strike icon by mistake.

I was recalling another article where the parents disputed professional advice that N was manipulative and lies. If ‘self-medicating’ is a means of dealing with pain, then is the burden of removing that pain placed on the shoulders of the parents? I can see how manipulation would be a huge risk. To an addict there’s always something that can be blamed, shifting responsibility for their bad choices.

It’s truly unfortunate the family didn’t give professional intervention another chance.

Some of the many replays of Rob talking about Nick and in some cases with Nick did indicate he thought the advice of the professionals made the situation worse. Got me to thinking if those professionals were warning about the escalating mental crisis and Rob kept thinking it was just a drug addiction. Often people criticize professionals including therapists and MDs is because they are telling them things they don't want to hear. The fact that the daughter who found them put LE onto her brother instantly told me there were signs before this that he was dangerous.
