I think that would be standard.Did LE take a blood sample from NR after being arrested?
New drugs or new drugs mixed with NR's un-prescribed cocktail of drugs?
imo

There definitely is in San Francisco as I have a friend who went through that process so I wouldn’t be surprised if that existed in the whole state but I can’t say for sure.Does anyone know if there is "mental health court" in California? when I worked in behavioral health in
AZ clients were processed through mental health court and often got lighter sentences. I personally prefer judges to be educated in Mental health over having a separate court program. I often felt justice was not served. I hope that any mental illness is taken into consideration but that it does not deflect from justice. Such as a short hospital stay and outpatient services would not satisfy me.

Hollywood nepo baby Nick Reiner 'volatile', 'violent', 'egomaniacal'
The double murder of a famed director and his wife, allegedly at the hands of their spoiled son, has the elements of a low-rent TV movie.torontosun.com
This article was pretty enlightening - and gave quite the chill.
His attorney is placing a lot of those stories but he had a history of violence for decades, also a factor. If the adjustment in his medication caused a meltdown this will be a mitigating factor:

Anyone know how/where to read this article? Tx
When I read this article a few days ago... I was wondering if they really had the facts right.
But I do not think I have seen this statement elsewhere...
Nick Reiner had moved back into his parents’ home just days before.
Where was he staying before he came home??/
I do remain confused about how so much blood showed up inside the hotel room. Wouldn't he be a bloody mess when registering for the room...
IMO, blood in hotel room is one subject that seems to have been exaggerated over time. For example, initial reports were blood was found on the bedding and in the shower of the rented hotel room. And now I'm seeing headlines describe a bloody mess and blood-spattered walls! I'm wondering if info about the Brentwood residence (crime scene) is being conflated with the hotel. JMOWhen I read this article a few days ago... I was wondering if they really had the facts right.

I agree-- especially given the delayed diagnosis for NR's age.Well….thats coincidental.![]()
I think he got the room, then committed the murders, then returned to hotel. When I read this article a few days ago... I was wondering if they really had the facts right.

Yes, there are "mental health courts" in CA. Here's some info on them and how they work:Does anyone know if there is "mental health court" in California? when I worked in behavioral health in

Sorry about the mixed-up post aboveFrom the quoted MSM link dated 12/19/25:
LOS ANGELES — Nick Reiner was diagnosed with schizophrenia several years ago and his medication was changed or adjusted at some point before the killings of his parents, according to three sources with direct knowledge of the case.
A sealed medical order was signed Friday by the judge overseeing the case's initial stages. Nick Reiner, 32, is charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of his parents, renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner, 78, and Michele Singer Reiner, 70.
That sealed order may have to deal with Reiner’s mental health condition and treatment. The sources declined to discuss the contents of the order.
Reiner was being treated for a serious psychiatric disorder at the time of his parents’ murder, the three sources said.
