I have just noted that people are now commenting on Rebecca's murder? suicide? on the funeral home "memorial page" for her. I have emailed that funeral home and suggested the inappropriateness of that and suggested they do something about it. Hopefully they will.

No,LE said it was carpeted but there was a concrete floor underneath.

It was the tremendous force that bent his head back when he hit the floor head first that caused his death.

IMO

Thanks Ocean!

In addition, there usually is a layer of padding between the concrete pad and the carpet as well.

In any case, much different scenario than marble flooring as suggest by the poster that I had questioned.

In the PC they said they found no other DNA but Rebecca's on the rope or the knife that was used.

IMO

I was just listening to a good interview with the family lawyer that I will post as soon as the podcast is available. but one thing she mentioned was that LE did not consider gloves being used or comparing fingerprints to other people. something like that.
She also said there is no case of a suicide this way by a woman and rarely it has been done by men.

Is the reenactment posted on here? I am really anxious to see that.
thanks.

YW.

We had the photos here of the staircase at one time. I put up the link myself one time and it shows very thick carpeting and also the chandelier.

IMO

In the pictures posted here previously the entry floors looked like marble.

Nope - old pictures that we've seen showed carpet.

And, as Ocean just reminded me, LE stated carpet on concrete in this mornings press conf.

I dont really know. That is just what they said.

Maybe the steps had been rebuilt and were higher than normal and then the carpeting was very thick which would also raise the steps up.

IMO

Oh, I understand, and I wasn't implicating the validity of your post at all. And your thoughts are good on rebuilding the steps on an old home - however, permitting processes in a renovation would not allow the rail to be below 42" at least in the last 30 years or so............but 20" is ridiculously low so I think it's the interpretation that is at issue here. (or they didn't get a permit).

Now, after a long day of staying on the wonderful WS.....I must shower and go with my husband and meet friends for dinner! Goodness, this this so absorbing but I can't leave it now!! Just so very sorry for these victims.

I find it surprising to hear this staircase described as dangerous, when it's typical of many staircases in many houses.
Less than two minutes until Dr. Drew starts.

Maybe I missed it but has it been established that the mansion flooring in the foyer/grand staircase area was marble or any type of stone?

TIA

In the presser today, it was stated that the floor was concrete covered with carpet.

I don't think it is posted on here yet. JBean.

I am sure they did compare prints and that is how they knew no other prints but Rebecca's was on the ropes or knife.

I don't think it is as rare as Anne is trying to say. Women do hang themselves and they do commit suicide when naked. Maybe Anne is talking about it being done outside.

IMO

This link to the NBC affiliate in San Diego has the rope tying re-enactment, as well as most of the photos from the press conference.

Gonna take another look at the PC and photos, etc. Be back later!

Does anyone have a decent link of the press conference handy? I still can't find one. TIA

Okay, I give up. In my gut I feel that she felt guilty about his accidental death, and she was angry that JS was seeming to blame her. I think her suicide was done in pain and anger and meant to hurt JS as well. But it is hard to share those opinions here without feeling attacked.

That seals it for me. It was just confirmed that Rebecca's sister was at the residence, injuried herself from cleaning the glass from the chandelier. I did not know Rebecca, but I don't think she would ever commit suicide leaving her sister behind like that. That's not her MO.

There are portions of it in the NBC San Diego link above. Haven't found a full one yet.
