The facts will be presented during trial, but it's usually possible to figure out most of what happened well before trial.

I beg to differ. This case seems to have a lot of twists and turns. There are more unusual or extenuating circumstances in this case than what I would think is the norm.
Add to that, the fact that there are no bodies, and no "smoking" gun, and absolutely no disclosure of the tiniest bit of evidence, I highly doubt this is going to be figured out before the trial. JMO

Debated posting this but I am stumped and would love the expert sleuthers here to provide some input...

I was speaking with a SAR member and he divulged that LE and his unit had searched "THREE potential crime scenes." If we are exploring potential aspects if this case due to the lack of public information and we assume this to be a possibility rather than rumour, where could this additional crime scene be located and what was it's purpose?

I think they searched 3 areas: The Liknes residence, the Garland Acreage and the landfill. I don't think "crime" scenes was the proper thing to say maybe?

Yes, I think the same as you - the children are her biological children (I had thought from a previous marriage for some reason, I think I googled some stuff to make me believe that, nothing I read on MSM) and not ALJr's biological but likely step-kids, but I'm probably wrong, as maybe it wasn't the same PG.

If you have a look on KL's Facebook page at JO's wedding pics, there is a pic of PG sitting on a chair with all 3 kids around her. I don't know, but I think the ones whose faces you can see look like AL(jr). There's another group picture as well with AL(jr) and a young boy in it...that's definitely his child I would say. JMO

Just to clarify...
AL was born 1948...DG...1960...KL...1961...

So in 1992...DG was 32...not 22...
AL was 44...KL was 31

Not that it matters...all ages 'associate' as far as I know...
As a matter of fact...KL is even younger than DG *by about a year*...and obviously she and AL married.... JMOO

Well we know there was a sweep of the Agricultural Building, with that ominous sign "Post Mortem Only", by the abandoned (at the time) old Ford Dealership. Pardon my ignorance, what is SAR?

SAR = Search and Rescue

Does the fence actually look like a gate?

I think the short portion 90 degrees to the garage could be a gate.

Given that bail hasn't been requested after reviewing a substantial amount of the disclosure, I can only surmise that they have found *something* of significance, above the circumstantial small pieces that LE have alluded to. Since they cannot disclose anything they find after the arrest has taken place, I can't help but think there *is* the smoking gun that they didn't have in the beginning of the process.

I believe that KR and DG had not made the decision regarding requesting a bail hearing as of September 17th. KR mentioned wanting to go through the disclosure documents before discussing with DG. He had been through a large amount of the documentation as he stated at the Sept 17th court date. It's possible that DG does not want to be out on bail, as it is likely not safe for him outside of the Remand at the moment.

The word " usually" would be the disqualifier. No need to " beg to differ"

He did say they actively searched by the Parkhill home, specifically the river and Stanley Park but was specifically talking about searching the "three crime scenes" as separate entities - he mentioned the residence and acreage and when I asked about the third he clammed up, stating confidentiality.

I always go back to LE specifically asking businesses to check their well sites.

I seem to recall that it was reported LE was searching a neighbouring acreage, not owned by the Garlands. I was confused at the time I read that, not knowing for sure if they meant the Garland's acreage or another. I can try to dig that up. Does anyone else recall that? Is it possible that the truck could be considered a 'crme scene'? But even if so, then it wouldn't have required the services of SAR. Thinking out loud...

ok, I know we've seen all the chief hanson interviews but does he slip at the end of this interview on whether they are murdered or alive?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnOox1wWbIU

Yeah I find it odd that he said "missing people" and the reporter had to mention a funeral. Perhaps he was speaking about until they discovered they were dead? I still hold out hope that NO is out there somewhere either with his grandparents or not but that is JMO.

Hmm, I don't think so. They are still 'missing people', whether they are dead or alive. That is how I perceive what he said anyway, IMOO. What do you think?

good point, I like your take on it.

Do you mean the part of "we would like to have closure by locating the missing people". I brought that up before and it was suggested it was a gentle approach for the sake of the family.

What I have always had in the back of my mind is when Rick Hanson formally announced that the Amber Alert was called off and the missing persons investigation was now a homicide investigation was when he was explaining a couple examples of how they could determine that and it was said that when a missing person has not accessed bank accounts or credit cards within a certain period of time that they can be considered deceased. Those were not his exact words and I watched it live stream on I believe CTV's website. But I have never been able to find that comment on the various videos posted. Is it possible the press conference can be edited and the media complies?

It's funny though, I have to admit that ever since I became a 'walking dead' addict, the word 'people' kind of sticks out for me now.

good point, I like your take on it.

I also clearly remember those words that he spoke at that time, and I also have not been able to recently locate any video in which that is heard. Does anyone else remember that? Does anyone know where that video is? And is it possible that part of a previously published news video can be edited to cut parts out like that? And if so, why would that be done?

from 5:19 thru 5:35

This is what is said for anyone who would like to read it.

5:10 thru 5:48

Police Chief Rick Hanson
"These officers wanna do as much as they can to either at the time try to locate something some piece of evidence it either directs us towards where we could hopefully find the family at some point in time or now towards a piece of evidence that could help with the prosecution. So, they get tired but the commitment is that we have to move forward and we will continue to move forward we are not going to give up, we will continue to pursue every lead in every investigative avenues because at some point in time we would like to have closure by locating the missing people."
