Maybe BS was supposed to go home earlier that night because it was the start of Hanukkah, although it would have been later than sunset, the time when the first candle is usually lit, imo, speculation. rbbm.

Hannukah began at sunset on Dec 12th as per your notes above, but the meeting with the architects took place on Dec 13th - the evening on which one of them thought for some reason H had wanted B to come home early (which apparently he did not do, unless she meant.. no stopping afterward, but... did B have a habit of stopping off somewhere on his way home?? I doubt it, considering he was said to have been a bit of a klutz socially, he didn't drink and frequent bars, etc?).

One other possibility I've wondered about is if they needed to get the house ready on Tuesday night. There was a showing on the Wednesday at some point. It's a lot of work to keep a house looking good when it is up for sale.

Probably not so much work when there are only two seniors living there (who maybe likely didn't do a lot of home cooking??? (Just a guess!!))?

Just a thought. We know Honey missed her meeting at Baycrest the night before. Is it possible something spooked Honey that night? Was she afraid to be alone at the house the next night and asking Barry to come home early for that reason? Maybe he wasn't cooperating, and so she stopped at the mall to make sure they would be home around the same time?

Another thought:
Had they a visitor in their guest room since Tuesday? The visitor maybe getting a visitor himself in person of NW?

Honey missed her Charity appointment on Tuesday. "Stuff to be dealt with."
Honey wanted no appointment in her home on Wednesday, but at Apotex instead. (The architects/builders.)
Honey asked for the Hanukkah evening on Friday instead of Thursday. (At daughter's home.)

From Tuesday to Thursday there was no time for events/meetings/dates except the meeting re the new home. And visitors were unwanted for, it seems.

Yes, you are right... I'm mixing things up now. I was thinking Honey canceling things on the Tuesday might have been because there was a showing the next day and she wanted to work on tidying up the house.

When you are that rich and have personal assistants, a housekeeper, plant watering person, personal trainer etc, I doubt that they would need to get anything ready. They had staff to do all of this for them.

Also, if they were expecting company that evening, or were having a virtual meeting (via zoom for example) it would not be any of the several people people that I have in my mind as suspects because they all had alibis. But that could of been a cover for the NW to kill them. For example, they needed to be home to meet with someone, but that someone never shows up but instead they were murdered by the hit man? JMO

Even with staff, there's still a lot of day-to-day stuff to attend to. I don't think their assistants were doing daily household chores, though I may be wrong. I picture HS and BS as pretty down-to-earth.

As I recall, the statement did not mention HS. They said Barry said he had "a reason to be home early." Also - I recall someone saying that they would often see Honey out alone, but never Barry out without Honey. So if he was stopping on the way home, it wasn't to socialize.

From what I understand, having grown up a few streets away from the Sherman's, Barry was a workaholic only. No stopping at bars-straight home.

Now i wonder if the Shermans would even light candles at home without the family, but if they did, it would have been interesting if the perp adjusted the Menorah in some way . imo, speculation.

There was a weak spot in the fence, imo. The exterior door to the basement was down the outside steps, close to the circular staircase. (Underground.)

I thought of any room, which could have been used for a guest. There must have been some rooms, that were once inhabited by the now adult children.

I think that was part of my confusion regarding the pool being underground because they had said there was an exterior door in the basement. Was there a retaining wall on that side? The landscape of the house confuses me.
