Maybe BS was supposed to go home earlier that night because it was the start of Hanukkah, although it would have been later than sunset, the time when the first candle is usually lit, imo, speculation. rbbm.
The bit about giving to charity jumped out at me...

When Does Hanukkah 2017 Start and End? Dates and Facts About the Jewish Holiday (newsweek.com)
''In 2017, Hanukkah begins at sundown on Tuesday, December 12, and ends with nightfall on Wednesday, December 20. The candles are lit for eight consecutive nights starting on December 12 and continuing through December 19. In Judaism, each day begins at sundown the evening prior, which is why the first candle lighting takes place on the 12th and none takes place on the 20th.''
''Antiochus abolished Judaismthe penalty for refusing to convert was death—and the Syrians desecrated the Temple, putting up an altar to the Greek god Zeus in the Jews' holiest place''.

''The holiday in general is one where Jews are meant to give extra to charity''
Hannukah began at sunset on Dec 12th as per your notes above, but the meeting with the architects took place on Dec 13th - the evening on which one of them thought for some reason H had wanted B to come home early (which apparently he did not do, unless she meant.. no stopping afterward, but... did B have a habit of stopping off somewhere on his way home?? I doubt it, considering he was said to have been a bit of a klutz socially, he didn't drink and frequent bars, etc?).

One other possibility I've wondered about is if they needed to get the house ready on Tuesday night. There was a showing on the Wednesday at some point. It's a lot of work to keep a house looking good when it is up for sale.
Probably not so much work when there are only two seniors living there (who maybe likely didn't do a lot of home cooking??? (Just a guess!!))?

Just a thought. We know Honey missed her meeting at Baycrest the night before. Is it possible something spooked Honey that night? Was she afraid to be alone at the house the next night and asking Barry to come home early for that reason? Maybe he wasn't cooperating, and so she stopped at the mall to make sure they would be home around the same time?
Another thought:
Had they a visitor in their guest room since Tuesday? The visitor maybe getting a visitor himself in person of NW?

Honey missed her Charity appointment on Tuesday. "Stuff to be dealt with."
Honey wanted no appointment in her home on Wednesday, but at Apotex instead. (The architects/builders.)
Honey asked for the Hanukkah evening on Friday instead of Thursday. (At daughter's home.)

From Tuesday to Thursday there was no time for events/meetings/dates except the meeting re the new home. And visitors were unwanted for, it seems.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't we talking about the 'Wednesday' evening.. which was when reportedly, one of the architects thought there was a reason why H wanted B home early?

Anyway, if we're talking about the Wednesday.. could it be so simple as... since B came home with the Colony Rd home inspection, could it be that B was going to explain the important sections to H so they could make a plan of action to deal with the items on the list, and perhaps H likes to go to bed on the early side??

Yes, you are right... I'm mixing things up now. I was thinking Honey canceling things on the Tuesday might have been because there was a showing the next day and she wanted to work on tidying up the house.

When you are that rich and have personal assistants, a housekeeper, plant watering person, personal trainer etc, I doubt that they would need to get anything ready. They had staff to do all of this for them.

Also, if they were expecting company that evening, or were having a virtual meeting (via zoom for example) it would not be any of the several people people that I have in my mind as suspects because they all had alibis. But that could of been a cover for the NW to kill them. For example, they needed to be home to meet with someone, but that someone never shows up but instead they were murdered by the hit man? JMO

Even with staff, there's still a lot of day-to-day stuff to attend to. I don't think their assistants were doing daily household chores, though I may be wrong. I picture HS and BS as pretty down-to-earth.

Given that nothing has been solved in 3 years, everything is still a theory.

I am unsure if the exact words the builder heard were to be home early, we do not read a written word for word statement from that person so it could be that HS did not want BS to stay past his regular time of 8 pm, since they had the meeting at 6pm, they were taking an hour out of his workday, she could have been asking that he not stay at the office until 9 pm (making up the hour they took of his regular workday)?

As I recall, the statement did not mention HS. They said Barry said he had "a reason to be home early." Also - I recall someone saying that they would often see Honey out alone, but never Barry out without Honey. So if he was stopping on the way home, it wasn't to socialize.

Some articles are more vague, but others attribute the statement to Honey:

“Joe Brennan, one of the contractors who was building their home, was also at the meeting and told police he remembered Honey saying something that made him think she wanted Barry home earlier than usual that evening but he could not remember exactly what was said.”
It's been 3 years since Barry and Honey Sherman were found dead. Court documents reveal what we know so far

There’s a KD article that quotes Joe Brennan directly, iirc, from his police statement.

From what I understand, having grown up a few streets away from the Sherman's, Barry was a workaholic only. No stopping at bars-straight home.

Toronto Star investigative journalist to talk about murders of billionaires Barry and Honey Sherman | wellandtribune.ca
''Toronto Star investigative journalist Kevin Donovan will talk about his book “The Billionaire Murders: The Mysterious Deaths of Barry and Honey Sherman” Thursday as part of the Canadian Author Series.
In late 2017, Apotex Inc. founder Barry Sherman and his wife were found dead inside their Toronto home. The pair were found seated beside their basement swimming pool, belts looped around their necks.
Police ruled the case a staged, targeted double murder.
Donovan’s book chronicles the story from the beginning, interviewing family members, friends and colleagues, and it sheds new light on the Shermans’ lives and deaths.''

''To register for the readings, which get underway at 7 p.m., people must send an email with their full name, phone number and email address to [email protected]. There are a limited number of spots available for each reading.''

Wasn't the guest room painted recently and the window was left open to air it? Thus, the painter(s) knew that this window was left slightly open.

Thanks for catching the correct Dec 13th meeting date!
Now i wonder if the Shermans would even light candles at home without the family, but if they did, it would have been interesting if the perp adjusted the Menorah in some way . imo, speculation.

WARMINGTON: 'Window was left open' as Sherman home painted | Toronto Sun

Barry and Honey Sherman's bodies discovered in 'creepy' pose, reporter says | CTV News
''The realtors and prospective buyers found Honey Sherman’s cellphone in a powder room which friends say she never used.

“Speculation of mine is that that is where she ran to and then was taken out of and taken downstairs,” Donovan explained.

What’s more, Barry Sherman’s gloves and papers relating to a home inspection for the house were found on the floor just outside the garage door on the way to the pool in the basement.

While police officers have said there were no signs of forced entry into the home, the Star’s investigation revealed that a window was left open in a basement room that was being painted in order to air out the smell. A door leading outside from the basement was also left unlocked when police arrived at the scene, according to the paper.

Donovan speculated that someone with knowledge of the home’s layout and who knew the door was often left unlocked would have been able to enter and exit the home undetected and leave through the neighbour’s yard.''

KD said this was the basement with at the front that had the open window.

There was a weak spot in the fence, imo. The exterior door to the basement was down the outside steps, close to the circular staircase. (Underground.)

I thought of any room, which could have been used for a guest. There must have been some rooms, that were once inhabited by the now adult children.

I think that was part of my confusion regarding the pool being underground because they had said there was an exterior door in the basement. Was there a retaining wall on that side? The landscape of the house confuses me.
