''One of the four children of slain billionaires Barry and Honey Sherman issued an emotional plea for help in solving her parents’ murder.

“Five years ago, on Dec. 13, 2017, my beloved parents, Honey and Barry Sherman, were brutally murdered in their Toronto home,” Alexandra Krawczyk said in a written statement. “So far there has been no justice for them and no closure for me and my family.”

“My heart is broken. My loss is immeasurable. My children have lost their grandparents. We miss their guidance, love, and wisdom,” Krawczyk said in her statement.''

In her statement, Krawczyk noted that the Sherman family’s $10 million reward “for information leading to a conviction” remains “available and is still unclaimed.”

The Star checked in with the police homicide unit this week to see if there were any plans to issue a statement on the fifth anniversary. Police said there are no plans but that “could change.”

''As the Star has previously reported, the Shermans’ son Jonathon said that his sister Alexandra believes he has something to do with the murders.
“I can tell you I was not involved,” Jonathon told the Star. He has hired a New York lawyer to help him search for clues leading to his parents’ killer or killers.''

What I find very curious is her careful selection of words. Everything is "my"-" my loss, my children, my family". She seems to deliberately NOT mention her siblings in these interviews. Perhaps she thinks that her brother isn't feeling the same loss as her? MOO

I picked up on the same. Like you I understand if she was not including her brother but her sisters either? Maybe the sisters are not interested in any interviews or publicity and she was just respecting their privacy but she went to a We in the next statement.

Not that it is any of my business but I often wonder if she and her husband got back together or not, I know they separated after the deaths.

He is close to Jon so another question comes to mind, when did she separate? was it around the time she suspected her brothers involvement?

It was mentioned on Global's 5:30 pm news. I *think* they said "WE" in their story about the daughter asking for help in finding the killer. There's a 10 million dollar reward.

The yearning and pain came straight from AK's heart, her words are sharp and poignant particularly because it is her own deeply personal experience. imo, speculation.

“My heart is broken. My loss is immeasurable. My children have lost their grandparents,” said Krawczyk. “We miss their guidance, love, and wisdom.”

''While not considered a cold case, it’s not a case that is considered hot. Comments from the Sherman children have been rare. This is the first time one of them have commented since the selling of their father’s giant generic pharmaceutical firm Apotex to SK Capital Partners for an undisclosed sum in September.''

''Along with releasing new pictures of her parents, Krawczyk is calling for renewed attention in trying to solve the slayings.

“We cannot let another year pass without justice being done,” wrote Krawczyk in her statement. “Toronto Police Service Homicide Unit continues to pursue its ongoing and active investigation.“

If you read the quote carefully I believe the “we” refers to her and her children, as referenced specifically in the preceding sentence

It was on TV, I didn’t read anything from the Global news. I was relying on my hearing.

LE usually keeps the family of the victims informed about any progress in the case. The fact that their daughter has issued a public plea for help as 5 years approach, in this case, seems to indicate that maybe things are not progressing as well as or as fast as is expected and hoped by them. At this point, they should raise the reward and hire professional detective help, both of which they can afford. However, LE may be onto something that they can't even tell the victims' family members.

''The daughter of two Toronto billionaires who were slain in their home five years ago in a murder that remains unsolved is speaking out ahead of the anniversary of the crime, imploring anyone with information to help solve the killings.''

For those who weren't on this thread from the beginning...our own WS dotr was the FIRST person to post about how the Sherman bodies were positioned and the possible similarities to the sculptures. It was obvious that KD read dotr's post and then ran with the story. No way he will admit to reading WS, or give dotr credit. That's ok dotr, we know.

''Dec. 13, 2017 - Barry and Honey Sherman are last seen alive.

Dec. 15, 2017 - The bodies of the Shermans are discovered in their Toronto mansion. Their remains are found in the property’s basement pool room, approximately 36 hours after they were killed. Their deaths are considered “suspicious” by police.

Dec. 17, 2017: After an autopsy is completed, police determine the Shermans died from “ligature neck compression.” The investigation is handed over to homicide detectives. Reports quote police sources as saying they suspect the case to be a murder-suicide.

Dec. 21, 2017: A memorial service is held for the Shermans.

Dec. 23, 2017: A second autopsy is conducted by a pathologist hired by the Sherman family.

Dec. 28, 2017: A private investigator is hired by the Shermans' family lawyer to further investigate suspects and the possible cause of their deaths.

Jan. 26, 2018: The Shermans' death is determined by police to be a double-homicide and a targeted attack.

Oct. 26, 2018: A $10-million reward is offered by the Sherman family for any tips that lead to the arrest and prosecution of a suspect in the murders.''

Dec. 16, 2019: The private investigation into the Shermans’ death, headed by their family lawyer, is closed. The police appeal to the public for more information.

Nov 25, 2020: Police say a person of interest has been identified but not arrested.

Feb 3, 2021: A report reveals that the Shermans' son Jonathan has hired a retired Toronto police officer to further investigate his parents' death.

December 14, 2021: Police release a video of a suspect in the murder case. The short video shows a person walking near the neighbourhood of the Shermans' estate around the same timespan when they were murdered.''

Jan 14, 2022: Unsealed documents into the investigation of the Shermans deaths reveal Honey Sherman’s sister, Mary Shechtman, believed “someone was making a statement” in their murders. "The Shermans were strong supporters of Israel and Honey was very vocal about being Jewish,” she said. “There were a lot of people of a certain ethnicity going through the house at a certain time and Honey would use phrases that were not politically correct."

Oct 28., 2022: In an exclusive, The Toronto Star reports that a homicide detective in the case says it is taking an “international flair”.

''A study detailing a Jewish professor's personal experiences with antisemitism was published soon after the dean apologized for 20th-century quotas on Jewish med school applicants.''

''As generous and visionary supporters of the University of Toronto, Honey and Barry Sherman donated millions of dollars to support education and research at the faculties of medicine and pharmacy, helping build state-of-the-art facilities and prepare future generations of innovators in those disciplines.''

Thanks so much for the timeline. It helps a lot. :)

Have all of the people who were in the house, including those who heard H uttering non politically correct phrases, interrogated? And also including house hunters. Potential buyers.

Another likeness to the statues -> the statues were housed in the basement. Their bodies were found in the basement. All of this is far too much to be "coincidence". JMO

Why were they hanging over the pool? From wiki about Jewish beliefs:

Israel's birth is closely linked with water. God parted the Red sea and the Israelites walked safely to dry land on their exodus from Egypt, while the Egyptians drowned as the sea came together again. In this story, water is an instrument of God – for blessing and punishment.

Rbbm. Of the many quotes listed at link, these ones caught my eye, fwiw, imo.

''John E. Douglas > Quotes''

“Behavior reflects personality. The best indicator of future violence is past violence. To understand the "artist," you must study his "art." The crime must be evaluated in its totality. There is no substitute for experience, and if you want to understand the criminal mind, you must go directly to the source and learn to decipher what he tells you. And, above all: Why + How = Who.”
― John E. Douglas, Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit''

“Dennis Rader quoted Harvey Glatman as saying, 'It was all about the rope.' What exactly does that mean? The rope symbolized total control. The ultimate fantasy would be to keep these victims alive and dominated indefinitely, although both men knew that wasn't possible.”
― John E. Douglas, Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit''

The pool area and its water, temperature, and atmosphere would help in reducing any temporary evidence clues.

"Any temporary evidence" - but they were discovered a few days later. Wouldn't MUCH evidence be long gone by then?

I looked up crime scenes.
