Thanks dotr, had totally missed that. I wonder what Fred's issue is, exactly?? From same linked article:

Fred later told police that it was often difficult for him to be at Sherman events and during dinners at Old Colony he would often go to the basement to “get away from people during family dinners.”
FM and HS had issues. Or rather HS had issues with FM

''Police interviewed Jonathon’s husband Fred, and Jonathon’s previous boyfriend Andrew Liss. Fred told police that Barry was a “nice person” but Honey was harder to read and he felt she did not like him at first but that their relationship was improving. He said that the Shermans once toured his family through the basement, showing off their pool, and Fred said he would “go downstairs when he wanted to get away from people during family dinners.”

''Andrew Liss told police that he started dating Jonathon when Andrew was 14 (Jonathon would have been 18 at the time) and that Barry invested $50 million in a house “building and selling” business Andrew founded in his early 20s. Barry’s condition, Andrew told police, was that Jonathon sign a document agreeing to work at Apotex and have nothing to do with Andrew’s business.''

“It was Barry’s dream that Jonathon would take over Apotex but Jonathon had his own dreams,” Liss told police. As with many parts of these search warrant documents, police do not explain why these statements are included. Neither Liss nor Mercure have responded to interview requests from the Star over the past several years.

As to his relationship with Barry and Honey, Andrew told police he respected Barry but “Honey did not like him because Honey thought Andrew made Jonathon gay.” The business collapsed, Jonathon and Andrew broke up, Andrew recalled and he felt “betrayed because he considered (the Shermans) as family.”

''In a previous interview with the Star, Jonathon said his being gay was something that upset Honey in earlier days but she and Barry made Fred “feel welcome.” He said Barry, whose best friend and first business partner from the 1960s is gay, was more accepting, but once told him that his would be a “harder life.”

That image of the realtor in the pool room makes my hair stand on end.

(Screenshot of image in attached post.)

I noticed something because of this post and the screenshot of the suspect. See how dark his image is and it’s brighter across the street? He’s walking on the north side of Bannatyne walking south-east. The street lights on Bannatyne are on the south side.

KD believes he went through the Shermans’ backyard neighbour’s property and they also do not have streetlights on their side. There are two neighbours behind the Shermans’ backyard that adjoin the property. The street light is far from the middle of both properties and is on the other side of the street.

Go to 48 Old Colony (formerly 50), the street light is right in front of the former Sherman home.

So he knew the neighbourhood well enough to avoid the lights, imo. And the space between the properties in the back of the Shermans’ home had a wide gap because both properties adjoined the Shermans’.

ETA: notice the numbering on the Forest Heights & Old Colony homes. Most of them are double lots, but the numbers are sometimes not in a predictable order. If someone on Forest Heights or Old Colony made that 911 call that the officers responded to on Thursday, they may have guessed the wrong street number because of the unpredictable pattern, imo. (IMO I think it’s possible the call was related to the WM tripping off an alarm notification.)
The word "male" stands out here since LE originally said when they publicly showed the video that they didn't know the sex of the NW.

Wondering what changed in order for LE to definitively say that the NW is male, maybe around that time the NW started to be referred to as WM? imo.

I wonder if there is more footage that showed he was a male, but then again wouldn't they release it to the public?

Wondering if JS is going ahead with this idea now or not (premium” hockey rink) could the desired location for such a facility be in the east end of Toronto, could it be built on repurposed G.Storage property?
speculation, imo.
''Jonathon and one of his business partners, Jonathan Tkatch, had to build a “premium” hockey rink. (Jonathon Sherman and Tkatch have a mortgage company called Harlo Financial, set up just before the murders. Jonathon said in an interview he and partner Adam Paulin “had some cash sitting around for projects.”)

According to emails between Jonathon and Tkatch in April 2019, Jonathon said the hockey rink idea was a plan to build a “premium facility with additional features like training gyms and rehab in order to attract the premium customers to use the facility during the ‘downtime’ (like summer when the leagues are off).” Under the plan, Tkatch wrote, a new Sherman charity would be created to own the rink and Jonathon would have “long-term oversight of the facility.

This doesn't entirely square with the saying that AP couldn't do anything about the mortgages that BS wanted JS and AP to obtain to pay him back due to the end of the year holiday season excuse. Did BS know about their new mortgage company?

No disrespect intended, but does it take much business acumen to operate a storage facility? Maybe that’s your answer.
It's also a great place to hide things in different lockers as is shown in different crime related TV shows.

Det. Sargeant Price also smirks when saying that walking was the "general" mode of travel "to and from *the defined area*". Again, think about logistics here. NW has to get to the subdivision somehow. He isn't walking all over Toronto and so had to be dropped off somewhere. You'd want somewhere close without cameras to pick up the quick exit from the murder team's drop off vehicle. The getaway vehicle would be waiting in some parking lot off the bus or subway route. They did not want NW on camera getting into some vehicle. They want a vehicle, with a driver, without a cell phone, or using a communication method not traceable (radio, special phone set up, etc.) who does a benign drive by off the 401 to a dead camera zone close to the estate. Then they continue on, the vehicle need not even stop to let NW out in the camera dead zone. Then continue on in your untraceable and benign vehicle.

One has to think, from the perspective of the murder team, better to be on some public camera that's scrubbed in 72 h as opposed to a bunch of private home cameras who could have the tape for a week and likely longer. Recall that KD believes that its likely Wednesday was specific. Thursday would have been logistically easier and less risky given less chance of anyone else at the house, etc. That timeline, and the correct assumption that no one would be alert to nefarious actions. It is still mind boggling how long they were staged before anyone suspected anything. But, as KD says, a perfect storm. Major players were out of town during that precise 36-48 hour time period. It goes beyond a stroke of luck, playing into the deep planning the murder team engaged in. This may have been their first time, but they were prepared and got lucky, too.

If one was going to do this, they planned and deliberated. Their success for 60 months shows this. It wasn't *just
* TPS mistakes. They planned a lot. I suspect if it wasn't done something like this, this was a very viable and attractive option considered by the murder team.

imo, speculation
If this was the case, they would have also needed deep pockets too to put this all together.

Based on the Kimel family’s wealth and sophistication, I don’t think JS has changed the trajectory of Harlo. As far as we know, he’s not involved with Harlo Capital at all. He’s not on the website or identified openly anywhere as being affiliated, is he? I don’t know the scope or scale of Harlo Financial or the extent of its links (if any) to Harlo Capital. But I’m inclined this is more like JS wanting to roll with the upper echelon now that he has more independent wealth. MOO.

Agreed. When I Google, I can’t find any connection between Harlo and JS/AP except on here and a couple of KD articles.

JS loves saying “we had some money laying around” to sound like a wheel. The money he had was from over borrowing from the Bank of Dad against his property, and ignoring demands to reduce the debt by getting the money for a real lender. He and AP had no expertise in finance. They don’t even borrow money like a normal business, and they treat a loan like a gift.

Posers. Not serious people, no matter how much money they have.

The information linking AP and JS to Harlo comes from the Harlo past leadership pages that some of us have posted. It’s not our opinion or view—it’s what Harlo has stated. KD has made several references to them and JS himself confirmed it. KD recently said JS is working on Harlo projects.

I’m not sure why JS and AP are currently not visible on their leadership pages at the moment. My guess is it’s due to the bad press they’ve received.

But I agree with your impression of JS & AP’s involvement and lack of expertise. I think the executives at Sherfam and the three sisters hold the same views, imo. I think they both borrowed money from BS and created the impression that they earned that money with their business acumen and investments.

Sorry, I don't know how to officially link from within this thread

Interesting that JS 'set up' a mortgage company just before the murders (in the fall of 2017 according to KD's book), (which mortgage business also lists AP as a 'director and partner'), AND had some cash 'sitting around for projects', but yet they weren't paying much attention to BS's urgent request that same fall, to mortgage their own assets to allow repayment of a portion of the funds owed to him. It's not like they didn't have those types of resources at their very fingertips, it seems!

From today's article:
(Jonathon Sherman and Tkatch have a mortgage company called Harlo Financial, set up just before the murders. Jonathon said in an interview he and partner Adam Paulin “had some cash sitting around for projects.”)
---
From KD's ebook:
Jonathon is busy with Green Storage and a new business (Harlo Capital, a secondary market mortgage provider) he started in the fall of 2017. (ebook pg 272)
---
It seems Harlo Capital is known by other names (ie Harlo Financial).

Website for Harlo Capital, same photos, email, address, etc. as Harlo Financial.
'Leadership' tab lists 'Adam Paulin'. (The same AP as JS's Paulin):

Adam Paulin
DIRECTOR & PARTNER

Adam Paulin is the President of Green Storage, a Self-Storage Development, Operating, Construction and Management Company. Adam also runs the Hour Group of Companies, which has investments in multiple classes of real estate. Prior to co-founding Green Storage and the Hour Group of Companies, Adam was the COO of Northern International, a CPG company. Adam helped grow the business from $30M in sales to over $150M in sales and ensured overseas manufacturing was completed in a productive and timely manner.

Adam graduated the Richard Ivey School of Business and studied International business at the University of Hong Kong. While working at Northern International, Adam completed his MBA at the Schulich School of Business focusing on Real Estate and Operations.
