Stunning everyone seems to be alive, hope the 8 injured make a swift recovery.

How does one land a plane upside down so perfectly?

How does a plane go belly up without breaking apart or bursting into flames? Hopeful that the passengers remain only with minor injuries and nothing worse!

"Shocking images from the scene show the plane upside down on the ice-covered runway.

Emergency crews surrounded the plane after the crash landing and sprayed it with foam, preventing a potential deadly fire.

Passengers were seen exiting the aircraft and stepping onto the icy runway.

All operations at the Toronto airport have been shut down after the crash landing."

Ice, snow and hella gusty winds, combined with speed of landing, flipped that plane! My goodness! There is no wing on the right side! It's clipped right off from flipping over ! MOO

I had no idea planes still were allowed to land when the runway is icy! Seeing a plane upside down and basically intact is wild. It held together pretty well considering. The cabin where passengers were seems to have held together and for that I am thankful. If all have survived as we have been told so far, then this is certainly a miracle.

Hopefully there is some security camera footage that captured the landing to see just how the accident happened. I would suspect the plane ran off the side of the runway and then the wing caught the ground which caused the wing to be torn off and the plane to flip onto it's top.

I think the icy conditions allowed the plane to slide along the ground rather than being torn apart, sparing the lives of all those on board.

Thankfully each survivor was more than likely buckled in, saving them from being thrown about.

The flight originated from Minneapolis. ABC News has learned that at least 8 people were injured in the crash. Of those injuries, one is said to be critical.

According to the FAA, Delta Flight 4819 was operated by Endeavor Air and crashed at the airport around 2:45 p.m.

The flight had 80 people on board and all were evacuated. Toronto Airport is closed until at least 4:30 p.m.

The airport confirmed on X that an “incident” occurred with the Delta flight from Minneapolis and that all passengers and crew are accounted for. Video from the scene showed the plane upside down on the snowy tarmac as emergency workers hose it down.

“Emergency teams are responding,” the airport said in a post on the social platform X. “All passengers and crew are accounted for.”

Peel Regional Paramedic Services confirmed to CBS News that 15 patients had been transported to the hospital. Of those, two were transported via air ambulance. One patient was taken to a children's hospital. All injuries were said to be non-life threatening

Sorry for those who were injured !
What a scary sight.
Looking at the ground and sky it was icy on the runway and maybe snow/sleet in the air ?

Thanks for the footage, @Vern .

Breaking News reporting here in Canada is currently stating at least 8 injured. Two critically injured - with one of them being a pediatric patient.

Will post a print-link when available. All on TV thus far.

I live in Toronto on the east side and it’s super windy today. Very gusty. Not snowing right now but blowing snow could be an issue.
