Oh wowzers. They're trying to actually claim that this "was his plan all along!"

LOL. Really?? Quite the fictitious game of 4-D Chess he's "playing".

8.5 TRILLION lost on the American markets and 'We the People's' 401ks ... but this was 'the plan'.

If the 'plan' was about China, then Trump would have done this to China from the outset, but he didn't.

8.5 TRILLION lost FOR Americans. That was the plan. How brilliant. Yeah - "genious" move. 😆😆😆

NOT. IMO.

Probably was his plan if he thinks it will "own the libs" JMO

Is all this in an effort to manipulate the stock market for some peoples’ benefit ? I know nothing about any of this, but it’s odd.

  • #1,064

As he stood outside the White House with NASCAR drivers, one reporter asked him how he chooses what to do.

“Instinctively more than anything else,” Trump said. “You almost can’t take a pencil to paper. It’s really more of an instinct than anything else.”

So, what anyone else would call acting on impulse or on a whim. But with the wellbeing of billions of people in the balance.

Super.

MOO

Ugh. I can’t keep up! Does anyone know what is happening with the tariffs on prescriptions from Canada? I keep googling and apparently google can’t keep up with this admin either!

My asthmatic cat gets his inhaler from Canada because it’s $300 more expensive here in the US. He’s about due for another and I can’t tell if the pharmacy’s website is messed up or if they doubled the price of it with tariffs going into effect.

Really wish this would all chill out. I’m working and the world seems to be changing every five min.

Thanks!

It sure seems that way but it’s probably my TDS talking. JMO

What's the statute of limitations on 'insider trading'??

Trump tweets out just before he pauses the tarrifs for 90 days. By hook or by crook a Felon's going to Felon.

IMO Attorneys Generals within the states and Attorney General Pam Bondi need to investigate and prosecute regulations regarding ‘market manipulation’ as I understand.

This Cornell Law School site has some information on the matter of ‘7 U.S. Code § 9 - Prohibition regarding manipulation and false information:

This needs to be investigated and prosecuted fully. And one would hope that some state law might also be applicable and invokable. As any charges at the state level would not be pardonable like a federal offense. IANAL. MOO

And his business and economy instincts must be the greatest judging by the number of times he’s been in bankruptcy court. JMO

Agree. There are too many highly placed very wealthy acolytes that are hanging in there as if they know the market moves in advance.

The cynic in me would say that yesterday's "fake" news of a 90 day postponement was just a dry run to see it there would be a good enough market reaction to plan on shorting todays opening.

Sure looks like this is exactly what all that cadre of liars was planning on.

And yes, Trump was running really scared because a lot of important people where turning against him, strongly.

She’s too busy telling everyone she’s gonna release the full Epstein files and then instead releasing a document that is 95% redacted. Can’t have anyone seeing how many times DJT was on his plane.

I agree completely with you, I am not Sherlock H.

Except for the part about AG Bondi. She should really be up in the high Arctic far away from phone reach, watching out for polar bears for the net 4 years. She is a menace to the law and the rights of Americans.

I mean, how is this different at all to 'give us 30 percent of your take or we'll burn down your business'?

It isn't.

He's just threatening nukes and experimental weaponry rather than basic arson.

The scale is the only difference.

He truly is a New Yorker, of the worst kind.

It should be apparent to every country in the world that all you have to do is wait out Trump. He'll fold and call it a Beautiful Victory.

Indeed. The best thing to do is ignore him and quietly get on with damage limitation: no announcements, no negotiations, no media. He’s an absolute moron and his stupid misplaced pride is going to hurt everyday Americans for a long time to come.

I agree completely. He even went on Truth Social at market open to tell his followers to "buy."

IMO, such BS.

Just reading about 'the pause'. It sounds as if everyone is still getting whacked with 10%. The Reciprocal tariffs were the tariffs which are paused. And Canada and Mexico are still up for their 25% tariff.

Trump announced a complete three-month pause on all the “reciprocal” tariffs

All other countries that were subjected to reciprocal tariff rates Wednesday will see rates go back down to the universal 10% rate, he said.

Mexico and Canada won’t face the 10% tariffs, a White House official told CNN.
Almost every good coming from the two nations will continue to be tariffed at 25%, unless they are compliant with the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement, in which case they won’t face tariffs.
However, that does not apply to sector-specific tariffs Trump has imposed.

"China has made an offer to Australia in a bid to boost trade and growth between the two nations as the tit-for-tat tariff war continues with Donald Trump hitting Beijing with 125 per cent levies.

Chinese Ambassador to Australia Xiao Qian said Beijing and Canberra must maintain their "open and cooperative" trade relationship amid the unpredictability of the US.

Under the circumstances, China stands ready to join hands with Australia and the international community to jointly respond to the changes of the world," Mr Xiao said.

“In the meantime, China is also committed to working with Australia to implement the strategic consensus reached by the leaders of our two countries.”

In an opinion piece to the Sydney Morning Herald Mr Xiao also hit out at the US, saying "there is no winner in a trade or tariff war and protectionism leads nowhere". "

China wants to work with Australia to 'respond to the changes of the world' as Trump slaps Beijing with 125 per cent tariffs

President Trump announced Wednesday that his heightened “reciprocal” tariff scheme was being paused for 90 days in response to overtures from dozens of countries — but duties on Chinese imports would be ratcheted up to 125% due to a “lack of respect” from Beijing.

I hope that everyone understands what this tit-for-tat means.
China holds all the cards at the moment.

.... even a 54% hike on the price of an iPhone would propel it past $2,000.

About 30% of all U.S. textile imports come from China, which means that clothes could get a lot more expensive soon.

And sticker shock might be even worse for furniture, bedding, lamps, toys, games, sports equipment and paint — more than 50% of which originates in China.

On the flip side, the U.S. exports $24.65 billion in agricultural goods to China each year — all of which will now be taxed at 84%, likely dampening demand and damaging the American farm industry.

Yes in my opinion. He’s manipulating the market and openly (on his Truth social account) posting insider trading information. Telling people it’s a good time to buy stocks and then less than 2 hours later, pausing the tariffs??? Martha Stewart went to jail for less than that! Again MOO.

And I will add - the only people benefitting from the flip flop on the tariffs and the market taking a nose dive and then rebounding the next days are millionaires. They bought the dip and now are much richer than they were yesterday. While the average American is still just sitting there watching their 401K and wondering if they will have enough to retire. He only does things to benefit himself or his rich friends. Again IMO.
