Ya, the choice of death, weapon and location breaks off from the whole "lead police to think it's cartel snitch execution" theory a bit to me at this moment (it might change as I flip flop a lot on this thread). That was one of my thoughts as I was running the theory through my head. I think the murder weapon may have been an attempt to confuse investigators. I think the entire scene was probably staged.
If the conspirators wanted police to think drug dealers did it - they would do it in drug world style, no? ie: drive by shooting, underground parking lot, ambush while exiting home, lure them somewhere remote and do somewhere isolated
So then we have to ask ourselves that question or do pros and cons... why a knife and not a gun?
It may be harder to get a gun in Canada, but that if it's done legally I'm guessing. Surely if it was a 'cartel' or a drug gang 'hit' they'd have underground/black market guns that can't be traced to use. If it was drug gang motivated, that'd be a hell of lot easier, less planning, less headaches, less messy and less risk.
Then we go back to something personal. Who had such contempt for Lindsay to make her suffer?
To me, I feel like that's something that happens over time. Like someone who had known her for a while and it built up and then a "how dare she" moment where that person then decided to hatch a plan to kill her. Almost like her murder was to "put her in her place" or something. Which seems like a woman thing to do or intimate relationship (friendship, business, lover, etc.) JMO MOO
