I think I see six or eight keys. A couple look like filing cabinet keys. What about the others? Is there a RAV key in the mix?
Asked my partner who is a mechanic and he says the keys look like toyota keys but for older generations (although the plastic would have melted off so it's hard to tell.)

Possible sighting of murder suspects in Kapuskasking investigated
Const. Michelle Coulombe told CBC that a flag person observed a white vehicle carrying two individuals who “had similar descriptions” to Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky, the suspects wanted in the B.C. murders.

At this time, however, “the OPP cannot confirm the identity of the people in the vehicle that was occupied by two males,” according to the release. “The OPP is continuing to investigate this incident and is actively looking for the vehicle.”

If you observe any suspicious vehicles or activity, do not approach,” the OPP advises. “Contact 911 or the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Please don’t report suspicious activity through social media — call the police directly.”

Can you show him this photo where you can see the keys better?

The gentleman who runs that Gillam tour operation is Manitoba Hydro electrician Clint Sawchuk, who has been interviewed by the CBC and the NY Times on conditions in the bush.

He runs a 21’ jet boat 145km/90 miles up the Nelson to Hudson Bay. If you look at his site, you’ll find a link to text and photos from someone who has done the trip with him. Looks like the Nelson is easily passable from Gillam to Hudson Bay, and you’d be going with the current.
Thank you very much for the information I will go back and have another look. Just busy right now and didn't get to go through it quite thoroughly. But the river seems like the way to go.

I'm of the same mind set. I think that Kam and Bryer did leave looking for work, things didn't go as they wanted and they veered off path. Seriously off path...
I tend to agree ... This is where my mind is going.
Got on the road was going to go up north to look for work or even to Alberta. Crap happened &
More crap happened.

This story refers to James Bay OPP. James Bay is a bit north of Cochrane, and is the southernmost section of Hudson Bay. It’s part of the same body of water, just given a separate name.

When the father was interviewed, July 24th media report, he predicted his son would die in a police confrontation “today or tomorrow” and he was tearfully offering his goodbyes. That didn’t occur so I don’t think there’s any reason whatsoever to put heavy weight on “a blaze of glory”. What he’s referring to is plain and simple “suicide by cop”. How death through that means involves any association to “glory”, I guess only the father can say.

Father of suspect in 3 B.C. deaths expects son will go out in 'blaze of glory'
“....Alan Schmegelsky said he expects his son will die in a confrontation with police.

“He's on a suicide mission. He wants his pain to end,” he said, breaking down into tears. “Basically, he's going to be dead today or tomorrow. I know that. Rest in peace, Bryer. I love you. I'm so sorry all this had to happen.”...”

Yeah I do agree that dad is probably a bit hyperbolic. He also may be projecting. And I truly dislike the term "Blaze of glory" in this context.

There's nothing glorious about murder, suicide or attempted murder. But dad seems to think there is. It almost seems like a suggestion from him.

Is this something he's felt like doing in the past?

He never said he thought his son would die in a blaze of glory. The media put that spin on his words.
For whatever reason that’s his alone Alan Schmegelsky doesn’t seem to have much faith in the “system”, knowing that his son is accused of murdering three people it seems to me that his lack of faith prompted his comments as to why his son would be dead tomorrow. He doesn’t seem to believe that they could remain at large, instead believing the police would have them with a day and because his son and Kam are accused of such brutality AS seems to believe that police would not be at all hesitant to shoot. As to the mention of a suicide mission maybe the father thinks it was sheer stupidity of his son to run instead of staying to deal with whatever happened.

This is why the media needs to pick there headlines more carefully. Watching the videos a few times Alan Schmegelsky did not say blaze of glory, the media used that term to paraphrase how they saw fit, but that term seems to be what people form their opinion on.

Just hours ago, I posted a direct quote. He said "blaze of glory" in one of his interviews.

he did say it
he is quoted in print as saying it
what probably happened is they edited it out of the video

I agree, as the Yukon borders the coast the climate and topography are night and day different to northern Manitoba. It’s vast, almost a half million square kms. Police can conduct air searches virtually anywhere but if wilderness survival was planned, they must’ve not had any clue about where they were headed.
Yukon doesn't border the coast, except a small tiny part of the north. The climate and topography for the most part are not that different from northern Manitoba, they're both boreal forest. Manitoba likely has more muskeg (not a lot of that in Yukon, it's so dry) but the remoteness is similar as is the lack of people, wildlife, forest, etc.

Those small keys look just like the ones that came with my RV. They open the outer compartments (storage, access to dump valve, water heater, etc.) The smaller key with some plastic still apparent is similar to a key that might power a scooter. The two large "car keys"(if they did not originally have plastic on them), look very much like spare car keys. . . the type used on older model cars. JMO, from my experience. YMMV

And I posted the full video of his interview in which he nowhere says those words.

ETA: The reason this is an issue to Me is because if the 'spree killer' narrative was not out there LE probably wouldn't be receiving so many of these tips. That narrative was set by the media in my opinion and everyone is just running with it.

They're prolly down in Acapulco smoking big fat cigars, drinking iced orange juice on the beach, and watching the muy simpatico senoritas. And chortling at all the huffing and puffing of the Mounties.

I wouldn't put anything past these guys at this point but what are the chances they could drive all the way from northern MB to eastern Ontario (around 2000km) without being seen even once along the way, at a gas station or on the road or anything.. They were spotted several times on their first journey to Gillam - The Cold Lake incident, the Co-op surveillance, the checkstop guys, the gas station in Split Lake.. I think the "sighting" by the construction worker is very likely false. Why would they be driving around in plain sight during the day & flashing guns at people when they're on the run/in hiding
jmo
