BS just needs a narrow black mustache, and guess who he looks like?
Yeah, and just add the suit he bought/brought with him, and an armband...

ETA: IIRC there was a suit in the RAV4, bu it crossed my mind that suit could've been LD's, not BS's...

The RCMP with the assistance of the Australian police have done a fantastic job so far. Withholding evidence from the public is critical to the case. They should not be underestimated as such.
I feel people get confused with what the Australian Police role was. It was NOT to 'assist' the RCMP. They came with Mr. Fowler as liaisons btwn the RCMP and support to Mr. Fowler and not to be a part of the actual official investigation.

At least one of the two people I know to have seen them alerted the RCMP but I believe the keys are still there.

In your opinion, why do you think the keys are still there? Are they just not considered as important evidence? Seems strange, no?

My guess is Youtube took the channel down if they knew about it...can't be getting that bad press now can we?

I don't think it can be ruled out as a possibility, either that the video games they played were a reflection of their long-standing interest in this topic, or that these video games were an "inspiration" to them with the details of how they carried this whole thing out. JMO.

Also noticed on Bryer's Steam account it lists his location as "Atemar, Mordovia, Russian Federation." Now that is weirdly specific.

From Wikipedia:
Mordovia - Wikipedia
"The Republic of Mordovia is a federal subject of Russia (a republic)."

Saransk - Wikipedia
"The Russian fortress Atemar, founded in 1641, took its name from a nearby Mordvin village; at the time the fortress stood on the southeastern frontier of the Tsardom of Russia."

I guess that kind of answers our question to if either of these two read and what they might have been reading. Like...who just randomly knows about that kind of thing?
...just sayin'': But how long did it take YOU to find that info on Saransk? Does that mean you now know about it?
I can't tell you how many times I've looked something (like how to say "voyager" in Cree so that I could name my jump drive something cool.

Seriously? I think many people would look like The Evil One with a thin, black moustache.

Just to be clear, LD's family is just as much in the dark about his cause of death as the public, according to an interview yesterday with his cousin, Eric Friesen. Friesen is running a fundraiser for LD's widow and sons.

Their privacy is of such grave concern that they are not allowed to know the cause of their loved one's death? I hope that they are not forced to file a FOI request, because that would be downright cruel, IMHO.

But these 2 were only charged with the death of the Professor. They now can't lay charges against dead guys for Lucas and Chynna murders can they?

No and the charges previously laid for the murder of LD will be withdrawn because as the suspects are dead, so there can be no arrest.

Charges are unproven allegations and the accused has the right of a fair trial. In this case the two chose to flee, avoid arrest and not defend themselves against the allegations. They cannot be convicted of any murder postmortem, somewhat similar to domestic murder/suicides which we hear about on the news.

The family does not want the cause of death released, and because of privacy law the RCMP cannot release that information without their consent.

Is it a privacy law or is it out of respect to the family at this time?

I do think eventually we will know more if anyone cares to get the reports. This case will not have a publication ban since there will be no trial now. I know that when the Crown decided not to charge Pickton with more murders and stayed the charges, it gave the green light to release information, like his interviews.

Yes, I apologize. I should not have worded it the way I did. I was writing quickly and did not mean to imply that the Australian police were assisting with the investigation, but merely assisting with the families. Sorry for any misunderstandings to posters who replied to my comment.

I guess, but given that his friends/family said that he had an interest in Russia and Communism (to an extent that some found baffling), and that he also had a big interest in history and politics, it seems like it was probably based on more information than that. Plus it does still seem like a totally random thing to know about in general. JMO.

So far north Otto, I'm assuming visibility would still be fairly decent, at that hour in July.
If Kam was the Caucasian guy, then their truck with camper top would be parked up close-by, no?
I've been trying to reconcile that aspect of the truck/camper near the Fowler/Deese blue van. I am feeling they may have hidden it in the trees and snuck up on Lucas and Chynna.

The question is: did Picton's victims families have any say in whether that info was released? I don't know...

Narrow, as in "width", is what I meant, not height.

Also, I am not aware of a "publication ban", which is a very specific thing, invoked for very specific reasons. This is not that.

Some of what we don't know is policing best practices of preserving the integrity of the investigation. Some of it is people putting out information without checking the dates of info they are using to support their positions.

The investigation continues, things change, dates and times are important...

Unless the coroner chooses to reveal it, placing public interest ahead of the family's wants. This is what happened in the case of Ben Kilmer. The coroner chose to release the cause because it had been a very public case with many hundreds of volunteers searching. It was left up to the media to decide if they would broadcast it. Wife seeks to stop release of details of Vancouver Island man Ben Kilmer’s death. “The brief summary of findings contained in a coroner’s report serves to establish the facts, address speculation, and quiet the public imagination.” 'Public interest' prompts B.C. coroner to release details in death of Ben Kilmer

I guess the question is, was a coroner involved here?

I watched that video and read the article and the fellow said the police only haven't spoken to how exactly how he died "violently, and murdered in cold blood" but I am certain that they have the cause of death. It's exactly what went down that is a mystery and LE will not be releasing the results of their investigation publicly for some time. Cause of death is released to the family and it is their privacy that is being protected. The family would not be a victim of privacy laws designed to protect them.

I don't know if that's true, that they don't know how he was murdered. In an interview, his cousin said:

“We haven’t heard anything from the police… The way that he died — violently and murdered in cold blood — makes it very difficult to process any thoughts at this moment,” Friesen said.

He did say this though too...

He said there is some relief but there are still many unanswered questions. As for a motive, police have not shared any details with the family about why Dyck was killed.
