When did Fowler and Deese camp at Pink Mountain?
July 13. And, if BS and KM left early on the 12th to catch the first ferry (which is almost half price btw) and drove straight through it’s possible the could have reached Pink Mountain for the 13th as well. IMO

Note to self: don't do crime (I'm the kind of person who gets paranoid in a store that the employees might wrongly accuse me of shoplifting, so I don't think crime was in my future anyway....)
SBM

For the first time in forever, when I read that Dog Day Afternoon came to mind :)
LOL

Full disclosure: My knowledge is solely secondhand from working on an unpublished manuscript co-written by a former armed robber. That tidbit was in there, and it was expanded on in some length through phone conversations. I just filed that away as some interesting career advice and an indication that as much of a nervous nellie as I am, I would not be suited to a life of armed robbery. :)

The road worker said something about bubbles / foam near her mouth. I was curious about that, and it sounds like it can be from something like a shot to the lung area.

There were other injuries - no clue why she needed a closed casket funeral.
a shot to the head could have a bullet tumbling around in the head that took moments and blood could have been from the mouth area. a bullet could also have tumbled and broke bones in the head face area that prevented viewing at funeral.

Or beat up, not necessarily a gunshot wound. Sorry for it sounding ugly.

With the greatest respect to the gentleman from Cold Lake, he adds to his story every time he tells it. Surely one of the lessons of this case is that the “eyewitness” accounts, especially to journalists, are not reliable.

I’m not saying that anyone is lying, only that people have a tendency to say what they think the listener wants to hear, or what an interviewer leads them into.

Unfortunately, we don’t have the RCMP statements taken from all these people, but I suspect that they read rather differently.

When did Fowler and Deese camp at Pink Mountain?
Early interviews mentioned that they stopped at Pink Mountain. Perhaps they sent photos via social media. It would have been during the afternoon of July 13 since they purchased gas that evening at Fort Nelson.

Certainly, if aimed right. Lucas' wound description by Trevor Pierre could be from a .22 low energy bullet or high energy deer hunting pellet.

People do not use a 22 cal to hunt deer. It’s actually illegal to hunt deer with a 22 in BC because it’s not considered a capable enough caliber. It’s for mall game animals like grouse, pigeons and fox perhaps.

I don't know as much about what caused the foam or bubbles except to say it sounds like she did not die instantly. I suspect she had some additional head trauma, though, based on some gesturing the man did when he was being interviewed. He motioned toward his jaw, which made me think she had a significant injury there, and his reluctance to talk about it also indicated to me it was a pretty nasty injury and one he didn't want to talk about publicly.

Lucas and Chynna worked minimum wage jobs with all kinds of young men and women. This scenario is very unlikely.

Based on all available reports, KM/BS were far more likely to stop at any roadside vehicle at night, with bad intentions.

It is far less likely that they somehow met, and KM/BS started stalking Lucas/Chynna. Such meeting could have taken place anywhere, from Hudson's Hope on July 13 to Fort Nelson on July 14.
Pink Mountain.

You don't know they committed 3 murders. What you hear is just that; hearsay.
Unless you can provide specific names of any other suspects in the murders - I choose to go by what the countless RCMP statements have said - they are the only murder suspects.

Do you have a link to the interviews? Was it camping or a picnic?

This is pretty much the theory I’ve been running with as well.

I’d go a step further and suggest that the trigger to burn their camper and find another vehicle might have been either seeing one of those roadside signs asking for anyone with dash cam footage for the time period around LF and CD’s murders or they saw that news article with a photo of that sign when they stopped at the Jade City store and got the free coffee. They had been camping in that area for a few days, according the store owner in the the interview she did, and they thought they were home free.

They panicked. They hitched a ride with LD (since the two were seen hitchhiking bear Dease Lake), they killed him and took his Rav4, burned their own vehicle and took off eastwards.

They would have to have been complete morons to burn their camper without another ride to get away. Anyone could have come running with the sight of the smoke/flames from their camper. I’m certain they had the Rav first.

I’m also pretty certain that by the time they had become really big news and named as suspects, they were already dead. I can’t remember exact dates at the moment, but seems to me they had been named suspects on the Tuesday when they were already in Gillam and the Rav was on fire.

JMO of course.

The timing is perfect given that the story was international on July 18 and they stole the Rav4 the following day.

I think they drove North to leave the area after murdering Dyck, but Dyck's body was 2 km South of the burning truck.

I'm thinking they murdered Dyck, stole his car, one drove the car, the other drove the truck North, they burned the camper truck and continued through Liard Hot Springs to leave BC. I think there was a panic.

As for the reason they shot the tourists, I half think they were curious to see what it felt like, but there must have been something more to it.

July 21 - CCTV buying gas Meadow Lake BC/AB border
July 22 - burned Rav4
July 23 - named suspects in all 3 murders
July 24 - Dyck identified

I wish people would stop the ridiculous arguments that seemed to have festered on this thread from late last night, it seems that people are searching posts and making argumentative replies just for the sake of it. To be arguing about whether Port Alberni can be called a port is just not needed. There is no need for someone to make a rue reply and then continue to argue a pointless reason for it. I was relieved to see someone post that they were not biting, but was shocked that the argumentative attitude was continued anyway!
Since they are off topic, why aren’t the posts removed? I posted a comment about swapping the tracking dogs for cadaver dogs and it was removed. Seems way more relevant to me?

I think this all makes a lot of sense.

And I share your suspicion that they were dead before they were even named suspects. The Rav4 was abandoned on Monday, July 22, and the announcement of them as suspects was that following day on a Tuesday. I think they were officially announced missing that previous Sunday, July 21--the same day that they were helped out of the mud hole they were stuck in.

The were considered missing on July 19 when the truck was found burned, if I remember correctly.

I wrote ".22 low energy bullet OR high energy deer hunting pellet" but you are right about .22 bullet.

YouTube has DIY plans to make PCP air rifles. Custom pellets for deer or wild boar hunting are not regulated like bullets.
How To Obtain The Maximum Power from a PCP Air Rifle

But we are all speculating about their murder weapons. RCMP will know.

Okay I have a Huge problem with Mr. Ste. Croix from Cold Lake's comments in the Aug 10 article. Go back and read the first interview with him in which he says there was barely any communication btwn him and Bryer & Kam. Basically he had said he pulled them out, and that was that. Now suddenly on Aug 10....he has a whole huge expansion on his encounter including his assessment of them. He never even heard of the case in BC, and it was his wife the next morning who directed him to a photo of the two guys. Now suddenly he's followed this case and become an expert on the boys? Sorry I don't buy it. I'll stick to the very first public statement from him where he claims they didn't exchange much words. Also he has no clue whether they had a cellphone on them or not. This is why it is always said that witnesses aren't always reliable - which is something that has prevailed throughout in this whole spree from start to end.

I have no idea if Ste-Croix account is true but I believe it's easier to speak now that the teens are deceased.

I think it's possible he was advised not to speak during the live investigation. He also strikes me as somebody that would contact his lawyer before going to report the incident at RCMP. MOO

Oh that's right. I don't know where I got the 21st from. Maybe it's when I first saw coverage of it?
