Just looking at the photo, it appears it could very well have been taken on KM's parent's property. JMO

Yes. Good catch.
Something else about the truck in that pic; part of the front plate is visible. The first two letters are LW, the same as the first two letters of the plate reported by RCMP for that truck. IMHO, it's the same truck.

WOW, thanks @Arizona123. You did a great job! I think the one on the left is Kam.
Thanks! Looks like him to me, but what really sold me is the shirt; it's either incredibly similar to, or identical to, the one K wears in the Meadow Lake vid. That, plus the confirmation they were seen it that town, plus that being a RAV4, makes me pretty sure now that that's K.

The male in this picture doesn't really appear to be 6'4"" when standing beside that vehicle and in reference to the open door. JMO

Hrmmm. Interesting. I can't quite tell how far he is from that door. Looks to me like he's more than half a head taller than the vehicle though, and the 2011 RAV4 was 69" with roof racks. 69" is 5'9", so that puts him at 6' or more. He looks a bit shorter than B in the meadow lake vid, so my guess is 6' or a bit more, B at 6'4. I've long suspected that the identical height and weight reported for those two was inaccurate for at least one of them. (IMHO, no way are those two the exact same height, build, and weight).

He's wearing that "Cat-hulhu" shirt as well. (He must have a thing for Cthulhu, Cats and Pokemon.)
SBM

I'm starting to get the impression that Kam was maybe as attached to that shirt as Bryer was his camo outfits.

I've always thought that they wanted to engage LE, or else it's like playing a video game alone.
It's like they were mocking LE and the public......Catch Us If You Can. Thing about the fires is they always had some lead time - enough to get to the next step in their plan.

Their "Signature" clothing line.

black stripes was seen with the early sketch I think. was there also a bulbar and something about lights? I see some stripes, but not a bulbar or special lights.

I agree they weren't the same height, but I think Kam was taller than 6'. Witnesses who saw them in stores made a point of saying both teens stood out and were memorable by being so tall. A man who is 6-feet tall in North America is not strikingly tall, IMO.

short version: folie a deux

Longer version:
I wonder though if their thought process was less connected to the reality most of us share. Either from the getgo or somewhere along the line, IMO, they saw themselves, to some degree or degrees, in a game. I don't play video games, but I imagine that part of the thrill of playing is the chase. and I also think that in a game-reality the time between action and response can be quick. I think they thought LE would catch them while they were in northern BC. And the rest was wingin' it. Not tauntingly, per se, IMO, but they were lost in their delusion. And whatever their motivation, what they did pissed us off, it scared us.

It is possible there might be photo enhancers in this thread. ;)

I kept the processing minimal; just a contrast brightening shift plus a little depixilation.
I think that is K. It's either him, or that look-alike from the social media post.

Edit to add; the subject who looks like K also appears to be wearing the shirt K was wearing in the Meadow Lake vid.
It's definitely him I compared that photo to the one of him in the Meadow Lake Coop with the same direction his face is point,,,definitely him and he's wearing that same shirt.

I think so too. The first photo is from video at Meadow Lake Co-op and the second pic is a closeup from the Fairview, Alberta gas station.

Maybe you’re thinking of the older model grey Jeep Cherokee described by police pertaining to the 11:30pm sighting of the man reportedly stopped at the van talking to L&C, as that was the description provided.

The 2011 RAV4 had no bull bar. This photo was released by the RCMP confirming the two were sighted in Meadow Lake on July 21st driving this 2011 RAV4.

Burned-out vehicle linked to fugitives Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky found in northern Manitoba

There are reports of a confirmed sighting in Fairview, Ab and this article says the sighting wasn’t reported until one day after the burned RAV4 was found in Gillam. This story was never carried by MSN though, so I’m not sure it’s considered factual.

“Officials have confirmed to MyGrandePrairieNow.com that 18-year-old Bryer Schmegelsky and 19-year-old Kam McLeod were spotted filling up their vehicle sometime on July 20th. The two men are facing charges in the death of Vancouver man Leonard Dyck and are suspects in the deaths of Lucas Fowler and Chynna Deese, found dead in northern B.C.”
Manhunt suspects previously spotted in Fairview: RCMP

I wonder if the RCMP were able to identify KM and BS as suspects sooner would this have prompted the gas station to review their camera footage sooner? I imagine that was a lot of footage to sift through, if the gas station employees didn’t have a memory of the transaction day and time.. but went through the footage anyways.

Awesome!

@SovereignSnake posted this earlier, someone else posted about wording and I wonder if this image helps?

Google satellite map of where Leonard Dyck's body was found. I estimated Kam and Bryer were camped at that next bend in the road heading back up 37 towards the Stikine Bridge.

I also just happened to find a map released by the RCMP during one of their press conferences that includes the location of the burning truck and where the professors body was found.

Yes @Kubirai I also feel that's the routes they took, thanks for putting them on the maps.

+1.

Thanks for the visual @Kubirai. From what I've read, it seems so obvious to me that that would be the logical route to go.

But that's JMO.

We discussed their probable route after Meadow Lake sighting. This was my marked up map of BC and AB. My hunch is that they continued south on Highway 37 after Stikine River, BC where the truck was burnt, then crossed into AB as quickly as possible.

Are the dashed lines on the map ice roads?

The reason I ask is there's one on your third map, from Gillam into northern Ontario. What if the suspects had this kind of map, showing that, and had no clue it was an ice road? Could that be an explanation of why they headed for the Gillam area - thinking there was a way to head further East?

Does anyone here have the link to Bryer and Kam's Steam accounts again? I've tried looking but can't find them. Thanks!
