Jessica Lloyd was either brought back to her own home by force (not likely given that she texted a friend when she'd arrived), was followed and answered the door and was assaulted or thought she was home safe-and-sound before the boogey man popped out of the closet. Is any of these possibilities pschologically comprehensible?

Not to a normal person. I get the sweats just thinking about it. Jessica died knowing and feeling this fear.

I hope that RW (I can't even post his name) gets his fair trial and does his time and rots in hell afterwards.

They could well have been hanging out making sure that no one entered or exited the property. It seems prudent to me to be mindful of a suspects house, and since they didn't formally charge him until the Sunday they wouldn't have parked cruisers in front of his doorway until that time.

But that is just my opinion:)

I think it had to do with getting a DNA sample. Remember, getting one of those after an arrest means seeking the permission of the court. However, if they followed him around, and perhaps picked up a discarded napkin, or plastic fork from the cafeteria, no permission is required. Meanwhile, it is always prudent to keep a suspect under observation, for fear that more crimes may be committed before the arrest, or the suspect might go on the lam.

A judge can order the taking of DNA samples, but I also know for a fact that LE can get one with simply the permission of the suspect. If the suspect voluntarily agrees to it, no court order is necessary. Whether or not it can be used in the trial is another matter that I don't have the time to research right now. Here is more info on DNA testing and storing in Canada:

Thinking back to a fake chewing gum sample booth used by LE in one instance to obtain a DNA sample.

There are many good reasons LE might not ask a suspect for a DNA sample before the suspect has even been charged or arrested. There are many reasons it would be unwise to ask an accused for a DNA sample after the accused has been charged, but before the accused has hired a lawyer. And once a lawyer has been hired, there is virtually no chance the lawyer will allow such a thing without a battle.

There are very good reasons to obtain a DNA sample before the suspect has been charged or arrested.

Back in 2003 in Toronto the police obtained DNA from a pop can

that Michael Briere had discarded in a street thrash can.

He was subsequently arrested and convicted of the killing and

dismemberment of Holly Jones (10 years old) and received a life sentence

with no parole for 25 years

Uh...hello? This guy has now been linked to at least 48 (FORTY EIGHT) b&e's that involved panty/underwear thefts and the OPP have nothing to report? Uh. HELLO? Really? This was never reported in any way shape or form?

48 panty thefts and no one connects a single dot?

Currently kicking myself in the @$$ for canceling the satellite 6 weeks before moving.....hoping to catch it online later.....

I watched it and it was interesting. For the life of me, I can't imagine how there can be a question of guilt in this case when a book has already been commissioned and shows like this are aired. If he were to be found not guilty, would the writer have to refund his advance from the publisher? Would all the media responsible for the extensive coverage of his private life be vulnerable to libel suits? I have never in Canada (except for maybe PB) seen so much coverage about an accused person before a trial or a plea. It really makes me think that a conviction is a sure thing.

One thing stood out to me as new from last night's report on The National. That was the reporter's statement that Marie-France Comeau's body was laying in her house the morning before it was discovered. In other words, according to that, she was not killed during the lunch hour.

Yes, as I wrote in a previous post, I believe that the neighbour who claimed to see Marie returning home that day at lunchtime must have been thinking of the previous day. None of the other info fits with that. (Or it was a reporter error?) It seems unlikely that RW would take the risk of a daylight visit and had probably struck during the previous night, as per his usual MO.

Yes summer, we had come to that conclusion some time ago, based on a news article, all IMHO, or shall I say "in our opinion". Let me go retrieve those posts you, were we discussed that, which should include that "news" article. Give me a second :)

That's odd, it works for me. Did you try clicking the word HERE? Each individual post has its own link, so you need to click HERE on each one.
Didn't take me long to find those posts antiquegirl :) I'm getting the hand of using the "search" function here in WS. Just have to remember a few keywords, and I kinda have elephante memory, which is annoying sometimes, lol.

Haha, no, the links worked just fine. I meant that it's not enough for me to click the "thanks" button to show my appreciation for your hard work. :blowkiss:
