Given the silence, I believe there is a foul play investigation ongoing. This is the way cps operates. Don't be surprised if out of the blue there are arrests.

I have to agree, reluctantly…I was hoping this wasn't the case, but I think the silence from MSM and LE speaks volumes. Something is going on behind closed doors.

Not to sound too cliché, but does anyone know if she was emotionally fragile, had any mental health issues or depression or anything? Sometimes people can have breaks from reality and might not even know they're missing if they've detached.

I know for missing Emma Fillipoff, there are theories she might have suffered a psychotic break and not know she's lost so to speak. Just brainstorming...

Thanks for the update, this looks promising, fingers crossed!
Lots and lots of snow in Toronto at the moment, so will be a little hard to spot her with everyone all covered up, but hoping everyone will keep eyes open for her!!

Yes it would be wonderful news!! Fingers crossed from BC!

I wonder what information led them to think she could be in BC or ON? How would she get there? If anyone picked her up and she didnt have any backpack or something to carry a change of clothes in wouldnt that raise a red flag to the driver and come up in conversation?? Or why she didnt have any money to buy something to eat along the way on their stops?? Sorry, I'm not feeling like thats a possibility. JMO

Unless of course, it is her estranged husband providing that info to take the heat off.

It just seems odd that she would go anywhere, especially accross the country, without her phone, without telling family that she had made plans with, and for this long without ANY word given then press coverage. Not to mention without using ANY money.

Something abouy this "tip" seems fishy and a bit too convenient, IMHO.

It almost seems they are grasping at straws. Barring some kind of drug induced situation or mental illness she has no reason to go into hiding in this way. If she has made such an elaborate escape plan she may never be found. This is highly unlikely.

Unless there is solid information indicating she is in either City, the cps would likely be better served focusing closer to home.

I totally agree with you - this 'tip' is far too convenient! I wonder if it has come from the estranged husband? Barring a mental break, I just cannot fathom Shannon being happy with her family worrying themselves stupid over her disappearance if she was just holed up somewhere.

What about, the small chance, she may have planned this? So her name gets out there?! I very much doubt this is what she has done but it is another angle to consider. She is a struggling actress, stand up - she may think getting her name in the media will improve her career options.

I would say there's a remote possibility this could actually be the case. May not end up doing alot for her career though.

Totally! Definitely fishy. My fingers are still crossed for a spontaneous trip, but does seem far fetched in respects to dropping off the grid with money/family.

If investigators rule out foul play does that mean they stop looking and now rely on tips and leads to determine a missing person's wherabouts?

Did the rule out foul play? I don't think the can technically rule it out, without confirmation of proof of life.

I should have said it the way the release read. When LE states they have no indications of foul play will they now wait for tips to come in to take any further action?

This is a part of what the release states:
"Although there are no indications of foul play, it is out of character for her to not be in touch with family and friends, and police are concerned for her welfare. Shannon frequently travels to Edmonton to visit friends and for work as a performance artist and standup comedian. Investigators have received information indicating she may be in either Vancouver or Toronto, Ontario."

I always love interpreting LE statements... It is an exercise in semantics.

My guess as to what they are *really* saying is - While they have no crime scene, no witnesses stating she was scared for her life, no reason to doubt potential suspects, no signs of a struggle or abduction... they are still proceeding as if any scenario is possible until such time one proves probable. IOW, they have no friggin clue what happened to her either way.

Someone mentioned Lolita's Lounge upthread.

Perhaps Shannon decided to see if anyone was at Lolita's ... is there a comedy night?

This looks like a plausible walking path, and it wasn't cold that night. When is last call ... 2AM, drink until 3AM?

Thanks for the map as always Otto.

The area certainly has some remote areas good for many dubious things to occur. The train track area alone is sketchy and not well populated.

Would they not have bank records showing how much cash she would have on hand, if she spent any on debit or credit and witnesses at the bar?

I am surprised that family or friends have not organized a search of the area. Given that there are some potentially ominous places nearby to dump a body, I would think that an area search would be justified... Unless of course they suspect something worse.

During the press conference, Shannon's sister said that they had been looking in areas where they might expect to find her, so perhaps they searched between the house and 9Ave, where all the action happens. If police were asking if any saw her near Lolita's Lounge, perhaps there was some video sighting of her somewhere near the intersection, and the guess is that she was heading to Lolitas.

What bothers me is the phone. If she were going to meet someone, she would bring her phone. Everyone brings a phone if they're meeting someone simply because one might be delayed. Did she forget it? Sure, she would have noticed during the walk, but perhaps it was better to keep going anyway.

Did something happen to her on the way to the Inglewood Pub district? In the map, where would you look first? If she is found nearby, it says to me that something happened to her when they were both on foot ... if someone with a car harmed her, she won't be found nearby.
