Hhmmm, link didn't work for me, weird. I got an Error 400 not found.
Do you have Google+ because it works for me and I have it. Maybe you have to in order for it to show?

In the article, it states that the face was obscured by flowers. Did you run accross any of her performance pictures that were of the macabre variety? The only one I found was a zombie like Halloween costume.

She was recently in a 2014 production called 'Scared Stiff' which has a zombie theme, here's some info:

Is one of the alliance members responsible for this? Sounds like something that would follow their mindset. is Shannon involved?

I would think not Alliance as it was more pagan/sci-fi themed and story related, this seems more like that new brand of horror movies and grotesque TV shows out these days - sick and twisted for shock value and in bad taste. JMO of course!

How " messy" can a divorce be when there are no kids and little assets in a marriage that didn't last a year? The relationship almost seemed to me was "contrived". I mean there wasn't any photos of them together or any kind of romantic connection, imo. If I didn't know he was a citizen I'd say it was an arranged marriage. What we don't know is if the neighbors heard any arguments in the days leading up to her disappearance. Also was there a mention of some personal "issues" stated by her sister early on? Were these issues the marriage or were they a mental health problem? Just throwing stuff out there to ponder..

Any relationship can become 'messy' if one person wants out of it and the other doesn't or is possessive, controlling, abusive and the other partner feels trapped by manipulation from the other. I'm not saying this is the case with SB, but it's surprising how bad and messy things can get between two people emotionally.

I'm not so sure this isn't even a hoax of some kind. This case gets progressively weirder and almost does seem like something you'd see on investigation discovery

Not much new information other than the fact that the link to this case is attributed to investigators:

CALGARY – Police are investigating a bizarre discovery in Fish Creek Park to see if it could be connected to the disappearance of a missing Calgary woman.

Photos of a woman with her face masked were discovered attached to trees in the provincial park earlier this week.

Hhmmm, face hidden or masked? This wording can mean either. Was an actual mask involved I'm wondering? Ugh.

http://metronews.ca/news/calgary/12...-burgess-notified-after-photos-found-in-park/

On Tuesday, police searched Fish Creek Park, where they found photos posted on trees, said sister Erin Madill. A family member was told the photos had a resemblance to Burgess, but could not be linked directly to her because hair and flowers obscured the woman’s face. The family has not seen the photos as police are running facial recognition in order to determine whether or not it’s a match.

One of the readers of the Sun article comments about a game called Slenderman...photos attached to trees... You have to find pages of whatever attached to various things including trees and not cross paths with Slenderman.

memorial photos??? Bizarre

Bizarre is right. If this is her, either the person who did something to her knows her and this is a bizarre homage/sense of weird remorse or it could be someone obsessed with her by creating this shrine of sorts.

Weird, I just recently watched a Law & Order SVU episode based on this Slenderman character thing. Someone involved in this is a TV/movie fan, this whole set up is propped beyond a normal crime in my opinion.

P.S: good catch LL on the Slenderman comments!

...Sources said a person in the photos appears to have similarities to Burgess, but the subject’s face is obscured by hair and flowers in at least one of the pictures.

“We really don’t know what we’re dealing with at the moment,” said a source.

“This is just all very creepy.”

It’s believed the photos have been in the park less than two weeks.

I can't believe Shannon is still missing - I must admit I was hoping she had took off - an over-dramatic flounce sort of thing! That is looking unlikely now. Her case has really caught my attention, she looks like one of my friends and it makes you realise people can be walking around one minute and then just gone, vanished without a trace!

And this development with the pictures stuck to trees, gives me the shivers. Someone further up the thread said something about serial killers - it is serial killer behaviour isn't it? I hope it turns out NOT to be Shannon and something totally innocent and unrelated.

crossing the bow on 22x today I noticed a cop car down by the fake lake at fish creek,, didn't think much of it till I got home and read this new news. That's a very big park and I'm more than sure there is cctv at the entrance after Canyon Meadows. I never fish, Fish Creek Park alone, I either bring a friends dog or go with someone. What's interesting though and noted on the Nathan O'Brien thread, is if CPS go up in a chopper now, they will see relatively fresh prints, even two weeks later. We had cold, then a long Chinook which actually thawed ground up until last Tuesday (quite uncommon for this time of year). Today I went ice fishing, due to the fog and cooler overnights my old tracks were as discernible - if not more - than when I last made them, as Hoar frost has made them somewhat permanent sculptures (so hard to explain). We're not supposed to get snow for another week, so any activity in the park since her disappearance until now will be quite easy to see.

The wishful optimist in me hopes that the flowers in her hair (if her) means that she went to San Francisco.

The family says it is out of character for her to just leave without contact with anyone, yet, her husband apparently didn't think much of her being gone without contact for 4 to 5 days before someone finally contacted LE... such a glaring inconsistency. Which is it? It's out of character, or something he's used to?

Is there a local search and information effort in Calgary by anyone?

My question is what makes them think these two pictures are worthy of such a heavy police effort? Aside from the person having red hair, what makes them think is it related to this case?

There must be something else we are not being told... Why bring in a cadaver dog for a two pictures nailed to a tree? What don't we know?

Generally, if foul play is truly not suspected and the missing person is an adult, police tend to allow things to play out while they follow protocol and make inquiries. If the Homicide team is involved, perhaps they have evidence to support the effort.
