remains found in fish creek park, forensics determining what type
Even though the police stated that the photos found in Fish Creek, were not related to SB'S disappearance, it would certainly be interesting, but sad, if this turned out to be her.
...Calgary Police Spokesperson Emma Poole explained the pictures appear to be of a red headed woman, but they are obscured so you can’t tell who she is.
...UPDATE: Dec. 18, 10:00 a.m. – Police have concluded their investigation, after it was found the photos were part of an art project, and not linked to Burgess's disappearance.
About those pictures, do any of you know how the police came to the conclusion that they were only part of an art project and not related to Shannon?
I looked for information online again and it seems like all media sources just repeated the same thing. And there isn't much detail.
When you think about it, Shannon was involved with people into arts, photography, movies, etc. And she also did at least one photo shoot (there's one picture from it on her FB profile). If they weren't able to identify the woman in the pictures, could it still be her?
...Calgary police say the photos are currently being scanned using their new facial recognition software, purchased mainly to identify suspected criminals using mug shots, but also capable of comparing photos to a known person, like the missing woman.
...Madill says her sister’s stage career could easily explain the photos of her, presuming the Fish Creek snapshots really are Burgess.
“There’s the possibility these were taken as part of her job, and that’s what we’re choosing to believe until we have any reason to believe otherwise,” said Madill.
But why would the photos be left on trees in a very public park?
“Maybe somebody decided to do a vigil for her or something,” said Madill.
The family’s optimism remains steadfast, even as the case grows increasingly worrisome, and certainly more strange.
''Rumours abound online, as a public weaned on television detective shows speculates over the meaning of the strange photos."

detective stories have been around a long time......MOO
We need a thread in UID for the Fish Creek UID. There are plenty of missing people in Calgary, only a select few have a thread on WS. :moo: :cow:

CANADA - Calgary, AB, Body found in Fish Creek Provincial Park, 16-Feb-14We need a thread in UID for the Fish Creek UID. There are plenty of missing people in Calgary, only a select few have a thread on WS. :moo: :cow:
It is a large Provincial park with vast wooded areas and water, on the border of a major city with some areas in populated residential sectors... It is prime 'dumping' ground, IYKWIM.As I was reading about the park I noticed that this area seems to draw tragedy (though this may be normal for a park of its size that is close to/part of a major city):
