I have watched the video about 50 times now and it looks like when he turns towards the camera he switches something small from his right hand to his left and throws it towards where the fence is. This is before he drops the bag. Have to watch it again, maybe my old eyes are playing tricks on me. I also think he is wearing shorts, at one point you can see them.

Thanks for all the great pics. Hazel, at first I thought it was something"shiny" in his hand- like a knife or keys- but now, with the blowup photos it looks like a white plastic shopping bag to me...oh my, new thought picturing most of my pockets with forgotten dog bags...

um, sure hope they aren't used dog bags.

Is there a version of the video without the small insert in the corner?

Looking at it again it looks like he switches the bag to his left hand and then throws something very small. I keep focused on the inset picture in the corner. Anyone else seeing this?

I found a report of a sexual attack in Orillia from last Sept. 1st.

On Sept. 1, a 39-year-old woman was sexually assaulted while she was in her residence on Colborne Street East around 2:30 a.m. In that case, the attacker was also unknown to the victim. The attack was interrupted and the man fled on foot, police reported.

In that case, police are looking for a male suspect, described as approximately 5-foot-8 with short hair. At the time of the attack, he was wearing shorts and no shirt. Police could not provide an approximate age.

If this guy is the same guy who attacked the woman behind the Metro, then I doubt it can be the same person who killed Sonia. Unless he left Orangeville right after the morning of the Aug. 30th and did it again 2 days later in Orillia on Sept. 1st.

The perp looks like the pants he is wearing are khaki and slightly baggy, but definitely light in colour. Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital is not far from the crime scene. Could these pants be hospital scrubs or pants to a uniform, i.e. maintenance, kitchen, hospital stores?

Perp walks with purpose, seems to know the area well. He doesn't look around as if he is wondering what to do next.

Was this woman a Metro night shift worker or perhaps could the perp be a bakery worker for Metro.

IMO the description doesn't match the video at all. He looks taller than 5'9" and looks lean, not stocky.

Is there an estimate on the perp's age?

OK is the guy holding out his keys to unlock a car?

I can't figure out the pants/shorts/no pants at all in this video. I can't see socks either.

Just guessing, but could the shiney object be a can of pop and he finished drinking it, so he throws it?

A can of pop seems unlikely since he wouldn't assault the woman with it in his hand, he would have had to put it down, assault her, then pick it up as her runs off. I think it's likely a knife or some other type of shiny weapon, or car keys. He could be slowing down as he nears the end of the video because his car is parked there.

I can't figure that out either, at one point I think I see a white sock on the right foot but I can't tell if he's wearing pants or shorts.

Is this a 24 hour Metro?

Just speculating again, but could it be feasible that the victim was carrying a can of pop unopened, it dropped in the attack and he then picked it up and had a swig, then tossed it.

Whatever he throws appears to have had some weight to it.

It seems odd somehow, to see the suspect's big wide confident stride, yet his left arm seems to flap about erratically, (crack?).
I think at the end he does turn and is either tossing something smallish,(gum, cig.butt?) or pointing something,(gun?)(remote car key?)

It's crazy, maybe it is the parking lot light casting shadows, but when he runs, it appears as though there is at least one flipper (scuba) on his right foot, almost as though he is dragging this foot a little.

His left arm flaps around and he seems to be holding on to something in the right pocket of the jacket with his right hand, then brings it out of the pocket and tosses it at the sidewalk. He then slows down -- I would think that LE has investigated every person who checked into that motel the evening prior.

He seems to hold his head back a little at the sidewalk, almost with an arrogant flick and then illustrates like he's home free.

His feet sure look bigger than 10/11 to me.

Just imo.

I keep watching the video -- it looks like something goes flying off his right foot. There is something dark left on the screen at the end that isn't there in the beginning.

I agree with you -yes an almost arrogant glance. I wonder if maybe "spare" shoes are in the bag for a quick change and the medical or kitchen type garb is a a part of that. Maybe off for a break, follows someone into a store, buys a can or snack, follows and attacks, then races back in time for work?

I think the perp looks late 20's, early 30's -- it's kind of a weird way to run from a crime scene. The right foot even seems to go out to the side.

Maybe those surgical booties?

You know I wonder if the bag he is carrying is something he actually bought at the Metro, perhaps the victim was shopping there and he followed her out. If so I hope the cashiers would remember him.
