Good catch but I could see Casey explaining it as yes, she'd known ZFG for 4 yrs., but ZFG just got this NEW car in NY and driven it down to Florida.......

But all of her lies can be disproven. NY Bureau of motor vehicles can soon investigate whether a ZFG did buy a Ford Focus in 2008 and license it in NY.
Casey doesn't think that far ahead. She lies on the spur of the moment without being aware of the ramifications.

I agree, that running with the 'accident' theory makes the most sense at this point for the defense. The withholding of info regarding the whereabouts of Caylee was not done out of malice, but out of fear of her Mother, whom she avoided at all costs.

The same mother we know she's treated like utter crap? All the SA has to do is show those video tapes of Casey screaming at her mother, you know, the jail visits, and that is SO not going to fly. Then there's the witnesses who heard Casey screaming at her mother at her house (more specifically, in her driveway). IMO.....KC's only true "fear" regarding her mom was that she would finally cut her a$$ off and she needed time to "acquire" more funds before she performed her vanishing act.

I can't help but wonder (and this is just a vivid imagination that I indulge at times) if Cindy had agreed to babysit Caylee and allow KC to go to PR......if KC would have "vanished" down there.

I know the defense is not required to prove her as non-guilty (lol), and the onus is on the state but where oh where are the rebuttal witnesses?? Do you suppose he's having a hard time finding different witnesses to even agree with him???

Just read the updates and can't believe the defense's latest motion, but I have to say that I did half expect it. I guess Casey didn't have enough opportunities to sell her dear dead daughter off. Financially ruin her? Since when did she even have "finances" that were truly...and only...hers!!

Well going as far back as August 6, 2008 I think the strategy was the kidnappers and the note story.
In this video CA gives a 9:19 min. presser in front of her open garage (think I saw a shot of the washing machine too)

At :57 sec.

Reporter: What do you think the motive here is on the kidnapping?
CA: I can't disclose that. If I say what the motive is then that (mumbled-think she said "kinda") tips our hand.

Later in this video she talks about jail visits being released to the public and how that could be harmful to Caylee (the 30/31 day kidnap note) But when she makes this response to the reporter she doesn't address this "jail visitation" issue. To me, the comments are not related. The above statement appears to be literally in reference to defense strategy for KC.

You may be happy to know I asked AZLawyer this question re making sense in the legal thread, and her answer was "this is a Hail Mary pass and makes no sense."

I seriously am baffled at the defense's strategy, if there is one. I thought CM would run a tighter ship, but he seems to continuously go down to Baez's level every step of the way. Why bring him in at all? Baez can mess up this case all by himself. I just don't get it. Either CM is some kind of real evil genius, or someone who thinks he's an evil genius but keeps getting stopped by the hero every week like in kid's cartoons.

I can't wait for this hearing to see what's really going on, and I seriously hope there are more answers than questions after the hearing is over.
