Ok I found it, it's in this thread

Post 729 by Amil, the second batch of youtube videos, #3 of 50 videos (the one of the pic of JB), interview is dated July 18, he says he was just retained "today"

Let's always remember that there is a difference between "consulting" with an attorney and "retaining" an attorney. One can consult with an attorney and later retain them. Sometimes semantics make no difference.....sometimes semantics make all the difference. Just saying.....

Can you only imagine the additional lies that Casey has fed Jose? The secret reasons as to why Casey is not guilty for example? I think Cheny Mason was right when he said this would be fun when he joined the legal team. He realizes the odds are stacked against them in getting a Not Guilty verdict but what fun it would be to pull out all the stops and try to successfully defend the most bizarre case of the century. Cheney has nothing to lose even if he loses. Jose has already damaged his reputation, most by his own actions. What else can he lose?

BBM: Good point. I often marvel at the ability of the A's to remain in denial (if in fact they are in denial behind closed doors) but how JB and Co. can remain convinced KC is innocent is well, indicative that KC's lies have duped that entire legal team. I would love to know what she has said to JB et al., that has kept them on her side throughout this drawn out case. I assume of course it is simply being in the public eye and that they know she is guilty....regardless, I would love to know what she has told them.

"I don't want you asking questions. I don't intend to answer your questions. They're always too stupid," defense attorney Cheney Mason told WFTV reporter Kathi Belich. http://www.wftv.com/video/24243769/index.html

He also went on to say that Belich has a stupid boss and that she was acting like a "jackass".

This was by far the most ungentlemanly, classless display of stupidity, unbridled disrespect for women, unprovoked mean bullying I have seen this side of 5th grade. A dear friend of mine told me if the guy worked for him and treated a woman like that, he would fire him on the spot. So, we are in agreement, both men and women saw this for what it was. Unacceptable.

Coming From the guy who mocked the defense for doing all the interviews they did and saying "It makes them have no credibility whatsoever", it is priceless. Based on results, he is making things worse for Casey's case!!! Imagine that.

Jose is green, that can change with time and experience. Cheney , for all his hubris, turns out to be worse than not the hero who could save Casey Anthony's defense. He is an anchor sinking the ship, faster.

He is unprepared, does not know the case, he has filed several motions that are wrong on the facts and wasted the court's time. Indeed he hasn't done one good thing for the defense, yet. I know this because I have searched high and I have searched low.

No wonder Andrea bailed. Mark Nejame, Mrs. Linda Drane-Burdick, Jeff Ashton and Judge Belvin Perry are about to give him one. Just wait for tomorrow! He is going to get slapped where it hurts. His pride.

You just can't make this stuff up!!

I just watched the tape of him maybe 15 minutes ago and I have to say....he made quite the spectacle of himself didn't he? Talk about bungling PR.....it's like everyone on the defense side took a course on "PR--What Not To Do"--and then did it! (shaking head back + forth)

But, for me, CM's little show with KB? It IS a wonderful gift! tee hee

MOO

What ever happened to: "I have no statement at this time and now if you will excuse me I need to be at a meeting. Thank you." It appears CM is crazy like a fox. Trying to get KB to paint herself into a corner. Trying to make the media look bad but it backfired only making CM look as if he was ready to come unglued. We don't need Dr. Glass to tell us about his body language on this tape......lol He is visibly stressssssssed out..... KB on the other hand...very cool and polite even. jmo

  • #269
It's just nice that Dr. Glass reinforces what most feel here...seems we all had the same reaction to his "childlike" attitude. Seems KB struck a nerve with the question about Dr. Lee...his reputation from the Phil Spector case will follow him for a long, long time...I don't trust this defense team and I truly believe they have something unethical up their sleeves for that would be the only way they can beat this case..JMHO

Corrupt, unethical, rule breaker are not what make a good attorney. It shows how sleazy they can be..Baez, IMO is at the helm...now I wonder if this is also part of the reason Lyon left...seems too many cooks spoil the broth and her ego and CM's ego clashed...JMHO

I can hear the state questioning him now... and in your "professional" opinion, did Casey's car smell like human decomposition when you inspected it, Dr. Lee ? Maybe they could add in something like "remember, Dr. Lee you are under oath"... I love it when they remind people, on the stand, that they are "under oath"...as if to say, don't you be lying about it either !

  • #272
Didn't Dr Lee inspect the vehicle trunk back in 08 when he "found" those 17 hairs ... no he didn't but made the claim anyways.

Whoosh ...... waving hand in face ........ STILL it smell like damn dead body in car .....

Good one lambchop .... now what is JB gonna say ..........

Dr. Lee gave a brilliant, short answer to Kathi's question..I have testified in many many cases over the years since that trial and the issue has not been raised. He didn't deny or get defensive, he just answered the question as he walked.
Cheney could take a lesson from the prosecutors who say "No comment".

It should be clear to the defense that while he may have gotten a pass on the question in other trials, it has and will continue to be an issue in this trial. Don't shoot the messenger. Cheney is polite and respectful to the one that secreted evidence in a trial of a murder of an innocent woman , but he can talk to a reporter who brings it up like a dog. WOW. It is beyond rude, it is just plain dumb!!!
They have traded out other experts already. What do you wanna bet we will be seeing the replacement for Dr. Lee within thirty days? If they do not do this they get what they deserve, to have his scandal on the front page of the local news from now until the trial ends.
Much like the local reporters searched their hours of tape of the Anthonys and came up with footage of the duct tape being used by George Anthony, as we sit here today they are searching everything Cheney Mason has ever done or said. How do the teenagers say it "Its on!"

OH..just a little side note...regarding the epitome of bad job Cheney has done in this case. We are all looking forward to the hearing tomorrow, but let us not forget what happened on May 6, 2010 while the defense argued its Motion To Reconsider the prior Judge's rulings. One of the matters at hand was the motion to make all the Texas Equusearch records available to the defense. Little detail Cheney missed....he forgot to schedule it with Mark NeJame!! They never serve notice on the proper parties or attempt to schedule. It is the oddest thing I have ever seen. Since the notice of service is boilerplate on the documents, they see that section near their signature line, we know they are aware of it. So that leaves one to infer, they do not , on purpose. You just can't make this stuff up!!!! When the defense recently had their motion to review the evidence without the watchful eye of OCSD, guess who they forgot to notice. The actual OSSC, for the love of GOD!!! Now they have a motion that makes complaints about the media, and are asking the judge to consider not releasing their list of items to inspect. The trouble with that is the judge ALREADY told them he is going to release the video tape ( possibly with parts redacted ), to the public. The list is then perfunctory. Who needs the list if we can see with our own eyes they are holding up plants? LOL!!!
If past performance tells us what to expect...guess who they wont have noticed for the hearing? THE MEDIA!!!
That is, assuming on their part that the judge will agree to even discuss it at this hearing, it is not on the docket for tomorrow, and he certainly does not have to. The judge says if, the judge says when. Hello!!!

What is interesting to me is that someone of his age does not understand that how people in the media feel about you will slant their coverage for or against you. He insults not only Ms. Belich, but takes broad strokes insulting the local, state and national lawyers that opine on his work. WTH? Career suicide, right?
He fires up on "Talking head lawyers who have neither the experience, knowledge, or predicates for their public comments..."
Since Greta Van Susteran was quoting from Debbie P.'s statement to LE a year and a half ago...it seems beyond silly for Mr. Mason who didn't even know that was in Yuri's supplemental report in 2008 to ridicule folks. Doesn't he know they will just cue up tape eight and make a mockery of him in two seconds flat? Is he a glutton for punishment? We'll just see how the talking heads and jackasses report on him from here on out. We'll just see. Richard Horsny and Bill Sheaffer are going to mop the floor with him, before lunch TODAY. Watch for it.

Okay, this is a bit off topic but it really irks me. When JB was under oath at a hearing he answered KC contracted with him on June 16th. Everyone said he meant to say July 16th but there is a lot of rumbling about how fast he showed up to sign on as her attorney. What if KC spoke to JB prior to July 16th? He was so willing to jump on her case and get her out on bail. When she did get out what did she do....JB had her all set up to sell her babies pictures to pay her attorney fees. This is really HINKY. Big, big hinkyness here. Something is just not right. He knew she had no money but took the case anyway. Interesting to see what the connection is between LP and JB prior to KC being arrested. Because no one from Florida was willing to post her bond and frankly if JB could not get her out, even just a few days, he was penniless as far as this case goes. LP, ABC, JB all responsible for turning this into the circus it is today. And JB blames the media....he loves it. jmo

I remember that, and Baez took notice of it also, with a pause and a big gulp, but no correction to that little diddy.

A long time ago, Richard Hornsby did a wrap up on the time frame, and, how quickly Baez filed things. The length of time it would have had to have taken to get from his office to the jail, an intial interview, going back to his office and doing paperwork, then, back again to the court house to file papers that he was representing her.

I have always thought that Casey had contacted him prior to the big show down on July 15th ~
It just does not make any sense at all to me.

ITA CM is showing signs of stress and cracking before it is even showtime. He certainly doesn't look like a lawyer having "fun" IMO. Wow, if KB can rattle him that bad-what will happen when JA and LDB put their feet to the fire tomorrow? Can't wait!!

I am so disappointed in Cheney. I thought with all of his years of experience in Florida we would finally have a defense lawyer who could look up precedent and prepare a proper motion, correct on the facts and on point on the law.

Naaaah

Here we have again another document that has absolutely zero chance of doing anything but aggravating the court. Just as I expected, he didn't even send notice to the media. He is basically asking the judge to set aside the Florida Sunshine laws....because.. his client is notorious.

In the words of Mrs. Drane-Burdick, "The court should deny the motion without even entertaining arguments on it." That is what I fully expect the judge to do.

LOL TWA!! He fails to understand the media is the watchdog for John Q public and that the public is footing the bill for his circus.

After the hearing last week when Jose emerged in a worse position than when he walked in, Cheney likely told him you did it wrong, why didn't you ask for the lists to be sealed, etc., etc.

So in an effort to show little buddy how it is done, Skippper filed this motion asking for it. Note he refers to himself as her attorney, and he alone signed it.
They normally say one of the attorneys for Casey Anthony and normally two of the lawyers sign off on their legal documents.
He is flexing his muscles. The trouble with that is he is going to get shot down too. Oh my.

Clearly they are having power struggles. Clearly. I give it ninety days, tops before Cheney bails.

I would like for HHBPJr. to read to ICA's defense team the creed of professionalism...wouldn't that be grand??? I wonder if JB has ever heard/read this??? Maybe he needs a lesson or two or three...LOL

The Creed of Professionalism.

Florida Bar Journal
July/August, 2005 Volume 79, No.7

"Defining Professionalism: I Know It When I See It?

by Keith W. Rizzardi

Page 38

Nearly two decades ago, the American Bar Association concluded that “lawyers’ professionalism may well be in steep decline.”1 Subsequent surveys by The Florida Bar demonstrated a historic collapse of public trust in the legal profession. In response, leaders of the American Bar Association, the Florida Supreme Court, and The Florida Bar took action. Today, the Florida Supreme Court’s Commission on Professionalism, The Florida Bar’s Center for Professionalism, and The Florida Bar’s Standing Committee on Professionalism are charged with the responsibility of “encouraging adherence” by Florida lawyers to aspirational standards of professionalism.2 These three entities were established by orders of the Florida Supreme Court and the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar.3 Yet, despite this institutional commitment, the professionalism concept is undefined.
...

" The Creed of Professionalism

Finally, and perhaps most significantly, The Florida Bar’s professionalism handbook contains a Creed of Professionalism, which states:

I revere the law, the judicial system, and the legal profession and will at all times in my professional and private lives uphold the dignity and esteem of each. I will further my profession’s devotion to public service and to the public good.

I will strictly adhere to the spirit as well as the letter of my profession’s code of ethics, to the extent that the law permits and will at all times be guided by a fundamental sense of honor, integrity, and fair play. I will not knowingly misstate, distort, or improperly exaggerate any fact or opinion and will not improperly permit my silence or inaction to mislead anyone. I will conduct myself to assure the just, speedy and inexpensive determination of every action and resolution of every controversy.

I will abstain from all rude, disruptive, disrespectful, and abusive behavior and will at all times act with dignity, decency, and courtesy. I will respect the time and commitments of others. I will be diligent and punctual in communicating with others and in fulfilling commitments. I will exercise independent judgment and will not be governed by a client’s ill will or deceit. My word is my bond."
