Child Abuse Investigation

Have a friend who works with DCF in FL. They have to investigate every charge of child abuse.

That is the case in most, if not all, states. The charge of felony child neglect would fall under DCF and they would have to investigate. They would then need to report to the court and make a recommendation regarding what is in the best interest of the child. They have likely been involved from the beginning but their investigation is protected through confidentiality laws in most states...much like a doctor or lawyer, so the public wouldn't be privy to the information until it was brought out in court. This is to protect the child's privacy in most cases. Unless Caylee is found or pronounced legally deceased then custody will remain an issue. I'm not sure DCF involvement and the legal custody of Caylee could affect the legal charges/proceedings...is their a lawyer in the house??

I'm going back in my history tonight because I read about 3 hours ago that Cindy had found a pregnancy test that was positive and Caylee was indeed pregnant and I have never seen that before! Let me go find that link!!!

Could this be why the family had a big fight on June 15th?

Haven't heard that on before. I'm sure you meant Casey. Nothing suprises me with this family anymore.

My hopes are that DCF are letting Casey know that if this child is found, they will take over completely. IMO neither of the Anthony's need custody of this child.

I'm a newby here. I just posted the other night regarding my ordeal adopting my 2 granddaughters. I spent five years in family court watching the case of my granddaughters and lots of others and I believe DCF can ask for an emergency hearing to compel her to tell where the child is or to be held without bond in contemt until she does tell. Just a thought, I hope someone puts an end to this.

Oh man I am going to say a prayer that this is the case!:praying:

Nejame states he is NOT going to be representing Casey only the parents. I wonder if they have done something that they need to be worried about.

Was thinking the same thing. I smell obstruction charges! You don't hire a criminal lawyer unless you need one, IMO

I think because of the neglect charges they were there......just like in the Madeleine Mccann case.......the parents signed away their rights to Maddy, if she is ever found (alive or Dead) she is the "property" of the Government now.

They did? Why would a parent do that? :(

Following the theory that Caseys pregnant......This could be the "back up plan" that TonE was referring to in his statement when he said he asked Casey why she stole money from Amy. It could also be what LP was referring to that would "shock the world".

Child abuse investigation involving Casey Anthony
9 a.m. Department of Children and Families spokeswoman Carrie Hoeppner said more than one person has contacted the agency with concerns about the welfare of Caylee Marie. Hoeppner said the case has been open since the toddler's disappearance in July.

A crazy idea just popped into my head. If Cindy still believes that Caylee is alive, could it be possible that she is trying to get custody? Could that be a reason for the meeting with an attorney?

Well if Casey DOES do any jail time for the theft charges etc, it should be at the very least out in 2 years (I think that is what NG said last night). So if and when Casey goes to jail to STAY, and IF Caylee is alive, then the grandparents would want to make sure they get custody of Caylee. otherwise she could in all probability be placed in foster care. So this may just be a pre emptive measure so that when Casey goes to jail to start serving time, that they (GA and CA) will know they will get Caylee and no one else.

If she is indeed pregnant, it won't matter in the scheme of things. She'll just be pregnant in jail. And if she is, I hope dcfs would take that baby as far away from that family as possible.:banghead:
imo

UNLESS the Anthony family is charged with anything themselves, and IF they want the baby, they can and will gain custody of this new baby. They will then take this child to weekly visitations to see Caylee. Then IF Casey is never ever charged with murder, then when she gets out she will in all probability be living back with mom and dad along with this new baby. Scary thought huh?

Dear Santa:
For Christmas this September I would like:
ex parte temp emergency order from state, answering hearing judge holds Casey in contempt pending daughter's whereabouts disclosure, GDP's wont testify to seek custody over state as they have hired an attorney so said testimony can be held against them? Guardian ad litem preferrably, but enough time to upgrade charges, hopefully.

I promise to be reasonably well behaved all year.

Maybe it is always done on a "child neglect" charge, which is all she's facing at the moment....just a guess though....could be lots of things. IMOO

WEll IF Casey is tried and convicted of a child neglect charge , which I beleive was said to be classified as a Class c felony, in FL, then YES they can and will take Caylee away from Casey and her custody. Our 6 year old who we adopted at birth, was a child born to a mother who had not 1 but 2 counts of "child neglect" which was a class c felony after severly abusing her first 2 children. While it took my state of TN almost 3 years to terminate the bio mother's rights and then the biofather's (they were not married at the time, so bf still had a chance to get child back) the biomom was already a lost cause, as far as being able to retain custody of :our: daughter. So yes in all likelihood, Casey 's rights to Caylee will be terminated and the grandparents will gain custody.

I wonder if CA was getting financial assistance from the State for Caylee. If they were, a case worker would periodically visit to make sure the child was properly cared for.

With Caylee missing, I imagine the financial assistance would stop - perhaps that is why Cindy insists she is alive.

caseworkers dont visit to see if your child is "ok" just because you get state aid. These are 2 different departments of human services.

ok stupid question, if KC was pregnant wouldn't they screen her for that when she had her drug adn achol testing, or at the jail?

That IS a scary thought, and the most scary part is that is exactly what could happen in reality...

I thought they didn't release the testing results and no one could figure out why....!
