When I was young (and slightly more stupid) I wanted to get my fingernails clean after gardening. So out came the bleach. I poured it into the water in my kitchen sink and then put my fingertips in and soaked and swished. They were beautiful. I thought I'd NEVER get the bleach smell out of my hands. The smell made me cough for a couple of days. It was a totally unexpected overpowering lingering odor. Now I just wear gloves.

@OldCop Have you any thoughts on why BM would allegedly move SM body after death? why her feet were missing? bones bleached?

I get it. I’m very sensitive to smells.
I asked my 90 year old mother one day how she had always kept her nails so beautiful. Of course she was healthy, always eating from her garden and never eating sweets. But she didn’t paint her nails and they always looked white and perfectly shaped. She took care of them herself. She said she used a Qtip dipped in a bit of bleach and rubbed it on just her nails and after a few minutes she would scrub her hands with soap and water and then use lemon to cut the smell. I never smelled bleach on my mom and yet I will remember her beautiful nails forever. She was almost 97 when she passed so I guess it didn’t hurt her.

I have actually been in this hotel when the pool was in operation. The pool is fully enclosed. Walking past it, no chlorine smell is present. To me, it is extremely unlikely that the chorine smell in the room that Morphew used came from the pool.
Thank you for this firsthand insight! I have been very suspicious that you could smell chlorine in a hotel room from the pool, and I have stayed in hotels with indoor pools, and had a child on a swim team for several years. I own a pool and have set foot in pool supply stores on a regular basis. Chlorine is a distinct odor, doesn't smell like bleach.

Does bleach smell like chlorine? Both are awful to me. But I thought bleach is much stronger. Could BM have purchased chlorine from a pool and spa store and used it?
I cannot imagine bathing in that and then taking a nap in the same room as he did. There’s likely more to this than we will ever know.
Bottom line. Full Stop. Suzanne is dead and we know who murdered her.
No they don't and I too have a sensitive nose.

I have hyperosmia and I agree with you, there is a difference in odor. But everyone I know says they smell the same. That being said, I think most folks do think it smells the same, it's those of us with a heightened sense that can tell the difference.

I always thought BM put Suzanne in the missing cooler together with some type of chemical/lye/acid and brought it up to a high spot on the mountain south of Puma Path on his ATV. There is a back, dirt, road that runs east from Puma Path towards the Monarch Spur RV park/campground. There are trails he could easily access and drive pretty far up that mountain without going out on a main road. He hunted that area for years and knew the territory well. He would know the hidey holes up there where he could stash the cooler. I believe he did eventually move the cooler, took out the body which was now bereft of skin, hair, and tissue, and left the bones out somewhere off grid for them to bleach out in an effort to erase any dna that might be left on the body. He knew if he left the body in the cooler and it was found, it would be traced back to him.
I think he got spooked when the prosecution asked for the court dismissal in the Spring of ‘22 and stated they now had a very good idea where SM’s body was, but needed for the deep snow melt to retrieve it. BM might have second guessed his decision to lay out the bones. He was probably savvy enough not to go up there right away for fear of being followed, but did go and retrieve the now sun-bleached bones, dressed the skeleton in the biking clothes and brought it to where it was eventually found in the shallow grave. He may have done this after hearing about the area which was known as the “boneyard”. It was one of his biggest mistakes. He did not know that traces of BAM can be found in the bone marrow.
The feet probably disarticulated either when he removed the body from the cooler or when he moved the bleached out skeleton.
This is a scenario I came up with that would account for much of what we know about the case thus far. Of course, we don’t know what additional information that the investigators might have and when we find out more, my little scenario could go right out the window.

It would really be something if they found Suzanne’s feet in the other spot before trial.

I always thought it was a little too convenient that the prosecution had suddenly determined where Suzanne's body was, but now with the knowledge that Suzanne's body was moved, I think it's very likely they did have a decent idea. What I'd like to know is what led them to that conclusion.

Thank you. I kind this scenario. It ties a lot of individual events together

Remember there was talk of BM getting chlorine for the hot tub and empty bottles were found in Suzanne's car. I see that the owner(s) of the store that sold it are on the witness list for the Prosecution. Maybe they have some light to shed on the chlorine situation?

I think BM was supposedly there some time on Saturday IIRC, but it was after regular closing hours.

Hopefully that all comes out at trial.

That’s a great scenario. A lot has been pieced together. Cannot wait for trial.

Maybe there were more chemicals they had to sell that BM purchased. If so, LE has the record and can now put it all together. Would love to know all they know.

LS was so incompetent, I really don't think they had a clue where the body was located. I think they said they knew where the body was to save face when they dropped the case. As it worked out, BM maybe got nervous and moved the body after hearing that but it was dumb luck on LS part.

Or BM moved the body hoping it would be found in the 'shallow grave' with bike clothes to bolster his bike ride story. and/or get access to life insurance benefits?

Either way this is an amazing story full of stupid moves on both sides.

I remember this as well. My memory isn't good enough to run through the events of Friday night, but I believe Suzanne's phone texted Barry on Saturday, something about getting pool chemicals for the hot tub?

It's possible that Barry sent the text himself. He could always excuse himself by saying her phone was at hand and he needed to remind himself to go to the pool store. At any rate, what I remember is that people saw Barry downtown on Saturday, near the pool store area.

And now I'm forgetting when the pizza restaurant visit was and whether we all decided that it was actually SD at the pizza place? If someone remembers the pizza event, please clue me in!

If Barry stopped by after closing hours, perhaps knocking and asking for an after hours sale, that doesn't surprise me.

I just checked the mention of the pool chemicals in one of Barry's FBI interviews (court document) and Barry says that he and Suzanne talked by text on Saturday afternoon, wherein she mentioned she wanted to go hiking with him, and would he get pool chemicals.

Hmmm. I wonder where Barry was when those texts were made. Was he trying to establish that their relationship was normal and cozy? And an alibi for the pool chemicals?

Do we know where Barry was all evening on that Saturday? And what was Suzanne up to, at that time? She interacted with her friend online sometime that day, but I can't remember if she communicated with anyone other than J. on Sunday.

We know where Barry was all Saturday evening--having a romantic steak dinner at home with his wife.

I’m pretty sure the pizza was Friday night. I have it in my head that the purchase of hot tub cleaner was around 11 Saturday morning, but maybe Saturday afternoon. I’d have to check the AA for that.
