She got listed as a DV fatality before there was evidence she was murdered or deceased.

The evidence that Barry had killed her was overwhelming, and few people needed her body to be found with BAM in her bones to be convinced.

True, Suzanne had not yet been declared deceased in 2020. Of course, that fact didn’t stop Barry from petitioning for control of Suzanne’s finances through guardianship, nor stop him from voting on her behalf.

I think LE said they came upon Suzanne's remains while searching for another missing person. You could very well be right, maybe somebody tipped ole' Barr in. Wouldn't that be awesome?

It was Edna Quintana they were looking for ( there is a thread here).
Edna was not a hiker per her kids and siblings , none the less she supposedly went out on a hike with her boyfiriend in Sauguache County. Per the boyfriend - Edna went back to the car early and when he finished his hike she was not in the car and nowhere to be found.
I don't think it's far fetched that LE decided to look at the "boneyard" ( the area where SM was found)for Edna, as it was a well known dumping ground for bodies and located in the overall area she went missing.

Correct !There are laws against it. It is not allowed per law - Barry was charged and found guilty.

More than that, I want to know if he covered the grave he dug. Or, knowing parts were missing, was he the wildlife that disturbed the grave? More staging? Leave some bones here and there and maybe no one will notice some are missing? Pick some more animals to blame?

$64,000 question -- how recent to the discovery of ber remains had he moved her there?

Did he nudge LE to go looking there? Say, an anonymous tip?

Or did he barry her there, thinking she would never be found?

“On June 25, 2025, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identity of the remains as Edna Quintana, who had previously been reported missing. The 55-year-old was reported to have gone missing around May 3, 2023, while rock hunting on County Road 46AA in Saguache, Colorado.”

CBI announced on 6/27/25 that Edna's remains were found in a remote area of Saguache County by a hiker on 6/17/25. They've not released the exact location.

I don't know where the first burial was, but I can say where he put her was not well hidden. If he didn't want her found he could have went into the forest and dug a deep hole. He instead went right off a highway and barely buried her. I think he wanted her found or he never would have risked moving her.

Remains of a 55-Year-Old Woman Found in Colorado, Over 2 Years After She Went Missing

The remains of a woman, 55-year-old Edna Quintana, who went missing while rock hunting in Colorado over two years ago in May 2023, have been found.

In an email to PEOPLE, the CBI confirmed that an investigation into Quintana’s death is ongoing. The organization said that when the search for Quintana began in 2023, it led to the discovery of the remains of two other people.

The remains of 26-year-old James Montoya were found in Saguache County that July, and authorities later learned that Montoya was murdered in the Denver area, per the CBI.

Then, in September 2023, CBI agents discovered the remains of 49-year-old Suzanne Morphew near the town of Moffat. Her husband, Barry Morphew, was indicted this year on June 18 on a first-degree murder charge, according to the organization.

I will say I think his goal was that she be found. No way he risks moving her so she won't be found because at that point she hadn't been found so what made him think she would be? I don't know where the first burial was, but I can say where he put her was not well hidden. If he didn't want her found he could have went into the forest and dug a deep hole. He instead went right off a highway and barely buried her. I think he wanted her found or he never would have risked moving her.

Barry was fanatic about guarding his perimeter during Andy's search. That he'd exert the castle domain isn't shocking but it never sat right with me. People were searching for his missing wife and instead of welcoming it or being moved by it, he goes full Rambo, full fortress. And just like his head-shaking infomercial, he broadcasts tone deafness. Does he seriously have no idea how poorly he comes across?

Weird time to get all trespissy.

Was he protecting her burial site? Seems like. And if not that, how about the access point? He knew that territory like none other. I have long suspected that his two-week, off-grid, Bible-toting absences weren't far away a'tall. Plenty of time for dumpster dust-ups. Plus we know he tracked that mountain lion. I suspect he hoped to lure it to PP where he could shoot it, claim self-defense -- just protecting the fam he cared so much for. And then with a wink-wink, handshake-handshake, backscratch-backscratch, keep the hide, keep the cat, take credit as the hunter, stuff it and park it in his living room, God-granted dominion.

Chances are good he put his trail cams back up and IMO he could see if any two-legged animals were prowling in the direction of his missing Mrs.

So... either within his property line or a decent pitcher's stone's throw up the mountains behind PP. I would not be shocked to learn that Barry knew of a mine shaft with two entry points, perhaps one side marked and sealed, and well above the frost line.

Consider, if the State really did have a location in mind, under some 8 feet of packed snow, I have to think they hid a nice little camera in the area....

But if Barry, the mountain lion whisperer, had a back door, he may have removed her remains without ever touching thst mine entrance from the tip. I contend that Suzanne's body was in water, for at least a time. From ice melt that often exists as a tributary under a shelf of ice...

Did he move her before he sold PP?

That package debacle was not an honest mistake. If it were, he could easily have called the new owner, explained the situation and sent his proxy to retrieve it straightaway.

I think it was a test. To see if they had cameras, to see what would happen.

IMO Barry neeeeeeeeded access to thst property. For all we know, they ran similar tests from other corners, in order to find where the cameras were and weren't.

Picture any of those uninspired rock clusters at PP. Could well have been hiding a secret mine shaft Barry alone discovered. Making it truly the perfect place to conceal a body. For the very reason that he could access it by trapdoor if need be. If my theory holds.

No mention of predation on Suzanne's bones, though an indication they've been unearthed at Moffat. I don't think any four-legged animals did that. Or there would have been teeth marks IMO.... The only animal that touched her was the one she was married to.

His motivation? IMO same as always, done it his whole life -- money, money, money. Root of all evil and backbone of the man.

Appending to this post to add, please recall that when Suzanne's remains were first located, IE wanted the world to believe that three "unknowns" who had also been dumped in the boneyard were located during summer 2023, AND Suzanne could have been a victim of SODDI, using the boneyard.

Except for the two (not three) victims of homicidal violence, including SM, were not "unknowns" but individuals with loved ones who immediately reported them missing to police and suspected foul play in their disappearance! For example, James Montoya, who was allegedly murdered in Denver on April 2, 2023, by a man named Jesus Arvizo, with ties to Saguache County, remains a fugitive of justice two years later.

Arvizo's associate was arrested and charged on Sept. 5, 2023, for first-degree murder after the fact in the death of Montoya. According to the Denver District Attorney's Office, the charges against Dominguez were dismissed in April 2024.

I believe the dismissal occurred under a cooperation agreement after she identified Arvizo and Murphy. MOO.

Edna went missing in May 2023 after going on a hike with her bf. He arrived home safely, and Edna allegedly left ahead of him-- on foot. IMO, BM wasn't involved in Edna's case, but I do believe BM knows people like Jesus Arvizo and Jan Franklin Murphy. Murphy was sentenced in May 2025 for helping Arvizo transport Montoya's body and “materially assisted” in concealing and burying Montoya’s remains in a remote area of the county.

Two years after a Lakewood man went missing, the man Denver police believe murdered him is still on the loose.
