<SNIP>

I was definitely taken aback when I first read the friends stating that "they believe he hitched a ride and was taken from there"..and TBH as is usual I had two immediate differing thoughts about it..
A) my initial immediate thought was that this was what their parents told them to say due to the fact that the parents and/or the kids strongly believe the father is responsible for the disappearance..but at that stage of the case DID NOT WANT THIS THOUGHT OR OPINION OF THEIRS STATED PUBLICLY TO THE MEDIA..

OR my second immediate thought was similar to some others..

B) these kids are intentionally wanting to mislead in this direction for not near as legitimate or non-nefarious motives as their just not wanting to implicate the dad in the media this early on..

Of course as always jmo, tho..
It's funny, my first thought when I read that was totally different. What occurred to me was that the boys could have arranged for Dylan to "disappear" once he got there so he didn't have to go back home (or stay with a grumpy dad?). I was expecting him to reappear after his week visit was up, or one of his friends would tell where he was at some point. If he was somewhere close by, they could have been bringing him food and whatever else he needed. I stopped believing that was much of a possibility a while back, mainly because I don't think the kids could keep it a secret for more than a few days. Although it did pop into my head again briefly when I read that a 12 year old was also missing now. :fence:

Anyone know any more about this witness account..was it rules out?..the main reason it caught my eye is that the witness says they saw him with another boy and backpack as well..

I think that was the mail carrier, who did know Dylan. I read that someone else had seen him somewhere later in the afternoon too, but I don't remember who it was. I just know it was said to also be someone who knew him.

If LE wants any film of vehicles from 6pm Sunday and Dylan was supposedly last seen on Monday at 7:30am, then it is clear to me that LE is suspicious of what went on in the time from of 6pm until then. Otherwise, they would be asking or any film of vehicles after 7:30am on Monday.

Authorities are asking for anyone who filmed vehicles traveling on main routes between Durango and Vallecito Lake between 6 p.m. Nov. 18 and 12 p.m. Nov. 19 to provide copies of the video to a task force investigating the disappearance. Arrangements to turn over a copy can be made by calling (970)385-2900.

12 p.m. is NOON on Monday to be clear.

Investigators in the Dylan Redwine disappearance said Wednesday they have determined the 13-year-old did not run away.

I can't do links from my phone. What I meant is that Monday at 7:30 would be their starting time frame. Not that it wasn't included, but that it would start there. No sense in lookin' for me at a time I'm not missing.... that's all I'm saying. The more narrow the time frame, the easier... and to broaden it to include time that they are sure little Dylan was snoozing away in bed just seems wasteful.

I don't think it was ruled out or in yet.

If the 2 boys came forward to rule it out, I don't think we heard about it yet.

Besides the search of the lake, investigators are hoping to speak with two boys who were wearing black backpacks when they were seen by a postal worker on Nov. 19 at the Vallecito Lake Country Market, La Plata County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Dan Bender told NBC News.

The postal worker reportedly knows Dylan, and told police said one of the boys looked like him.

Seriously... This phone makes me sound like I'm drunk when I post. I promise I proofread the darn stuff, and then I press submit and it turns into garbledy-gook.

La Plata County Sheriff's Office spokesman Dan Bender says Mark Redwine told investigators that he saw his son Monday about 7:30 a.m.
He was last seen wearing a blue & white Duke Blue Devils baseball cap, black Nike T-shirt and black Jordan tennis shoes.

So, according to LE above the father stated THAT HE SAW HIS SON on Monday prior to leaving the home to run errands..

And then we have LE statement of WHAT HE WAS WEARING WHEN HE WAS LAST SEEN..

So, was he in bed still sleeping when dad left or not?..above quote is cut/dry of LE stating dad told them he did see his son that morning..and LE states what Dylan was wearing WHEN HE WAS LAST SEEN by dad..???

I'm still stuck on why (and HOW) the fishing pole got to the bridge/lake? Especially if Dylan decided to hitch hike to town?

So Dad says he saw him at 7:30AM?

I know there was a mention of "11:30" on NG, but apparently it was an error that went by uncorrected. I guess that time is irrelevant?

And yet LE still wants tapes from the night before.

It has been said it was not his, as far as I know.

Fishing pole has been ruled out. It has nothing to do with this case, and it didn't belong to Dylan.

11:30 am is the time father came back from his errands.

Reportedly, 11:30 am is the time that Dad returned home and found that Dylan wasn't home.

I think they're making it confusing. My understanding is that he was last seen in bed at 7:30 am, and the clothes mentioned were the last things he was seen wearing.
