hold up.... that is not what he said about the whereabouts... this is what he said:

What I want to find out is, where was the dad? Can we really account for his whereabouts for those four hours?

SGT. DAN BENDER, LA PLATA CTY SHERIFF`S OFFICE (via telephone): The investigators checked at the different locations that Mark Redwine said he was at during that time, including a meeting or two in Durango, I believe. And those were confirmed.

What about the night before and the afternoon Monday are his whereabouts confirmed for those times too?

Im not sure how far away south platte river in denver colorado is from D urango, I think like 6 hours but a body was found this morning floating in the river...probably nothing to do with this case , just wanted to share

According to google maps that is 333miles or 6hrs and 48mins away from Dylan's father's home.

From what I found, Denver is North of Vallecito. I looked to see if the Platte river flows north and it isn't listed as one that does. And the articles described the body as very badly decomposed, I'm not sure but I don't think that could happen in 10 days in cold water. JMO

Mark Redmond says that once Dylan arrived that they went shopping for Thanksgiving. In a small town where everyone knows each other hasn't any store clerk or patrons come forwarded stating they saw Dylan with his dad that Sunday night and if they shopped at a large grocery chain don't those stores have cameras/tapes?

Wouldn't this food shopping trip allow LE to reduce their time line request of wanting any tape between the hours of six on Sunday evening through twelve noon on Monday?

I'm not even sure that the mom got a text message from Dylan. Anyone can text a message and add a sad smiley face. I remember those old TV shoes where the killer typed the suicide note on the victim's typewriter. It never worked, though, since the two shots to the brain was a major snafu.

I am disappointed to read the posts which paint Dylan's mom in a bad light simply because she fears the dad may have done something bad to Dylan. After all, she did not come out publicly with her concern until it became obvious that Dad was refusing to communicate with her at all and that Dylan has had no contact with anyone since almost a full day before Dad reported him missing.

When your child is missing and the adult in charge is telling stories that change with the wind, it is more important to put all of the facts right out there. If Redwine is not to be trusted, she is the one who would know that better than anyone. If she kept quiet about what she knows of his character she might as well be covering for him.

Personally, I have reservations about the purpose of dad's trip to see his lawyer Monday morning. The phrases he has used when asked about the mom's concerns seem like he is repeating lawyer-speak to me. "I prefer not to engage ...yada yada" or " God has to love everybody" . What? no one asked if he loves his ex or anything about God. Lawyer-speak! smoke and mirrors! Classics non- answers when a straight-forward statement of his non-involvement would answer the question quite nicely. Not blaming him for saying it, just saying it sounded scripted-ish to me.

The Nancy Grace interview is the source for the trip to the lawyer and the paraphrased quotes are from the dad's comments at the vigil.

The rest is MOO

Even if there were no cameras at the grocery store, don't you think someone would remember seeing them in the store?

Also, IF Dylan did in fact leave the house by his own making after dad left at 7:30 am, they want any type of verification (tapes, house-to-house canvassing, etc.)

They are trying to rule out/rule in people (hope that makes sense) - trying to verify what they have been told so far...

I've wondered the same thing...Was this meeting with the lawyer planned prior to that Monday morning? If so great, if not... well then...

What makes my hinky meter go off? A few things. First, all of his stuff being gone. Two, now we learn that the errand running included a visit to his divorce lawyer. Why?? Convenient or dumb luck. I just wonder - maybe Dylan did take off walking and got hit by a car or something and is down in a ditch or ravine and not visible.

Also - would there not be bank credit/debit records to confirm that there was shopping done during that time frame (unless everything was paid for with cash)?

La Plata County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to search for a 13-year-old Four Corners boy missing since Monday.

Dylan Redwine was reported missing Monday afternoon by his father, Mark Redwine, who lives in Vallecito, about 22 miles northeast of Durango.
Dylan is described as 13 years old, standing 5 feet tall and weighing 105 pounds. He has blond hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black Nike shirt, black basketball nylon shorts, black Jordan tennis shoes and a two tone blue and white Duke Blue Devils baseball hat.

Anyone who may have information on Dylan’s whereabouts are asked to contact La Plata County Sheriff’s Office Investigators Dan Patterson (970-382-7015) or Tom Cowing (970-382-7045). People can also call the hotline for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-THE LOST (1-800-843-5678).

Missing Persons Information & Support

We are a victim friendly site, their are no suspects or persons of interest at this point. We understand that sometimes it is frustrating not to be able to sleuth or speculate about a certain person (generally a family member) but in many, many cases, it has turned out that the certain person was not involved in any foul play. So until LE gives us an indication as to what they are thinking, pursuing, Dad is off limits here.

Thanks so much for understanding and please let me or any of the mods know if you have questions.
bumping up the opening post so everyone has a chance to review (yet again) the rules about discussion of family members.
