I'm wondering if the 'more dedicated' WSers that I can update me here...but did I see an earlier inference that Dylan and his dad made a stop on the way home?

TIA

According to what the family friend was told by MR, [ per NG transcript],
After he picked Dylan up at the airport, they stopped at the grocery store to pick up Thanksgiving supplies. She did not say anything about them going to eat, but I imagine they had to because the kid must have been starving by then.

Dad has a travel trailer on the side of the property AND CSI brought their own trailer and tents out as well. This was a pretty thorough search.

goggle maps show a RV on dad's property

I think I got everyone, but if for some reason I missed your question (and it was different than someone else's that I answered) please ask again. Not trying to ignore anyone!
All great questions btw! And for those that don't know me, please don't hesitate to ask a question, even if you feel it's stupid. Someone else is probably wondering the same thing. (and there are no stupid questions)

As always, Sarx... :yourock::

Thank you for answering our questions so willingly!

Something keeps nagging at me. Dad hasn't seen his son for months and he makes appts. For the very 1st morning his son is waking up in his home? An appt. With his custody attorney? Is that true? So it sounds like either Dylan was going to be left on his own that first morning or go to the atty. With dad unless he went to a friends early. Is that making sense? The whole thing seems careless I guess.

I wonder if Dad was expecting Dylan to go WITH him to attorney appointment and sign some kind of statement saying he wanted to live with his dad and then Dad became angered that Dylan wouldn't do it. Just a thought.

Also, does anyone know how much child support he paid, whether he was in arrears, and how he felt about that matter? We have, sadly, seen too many noncustodial parents do bad things due to extreme anger over loss of control and child support issues.

We just flew this weekend. We flew a major carrier and the stated policy was that children aged 5-14 had to fly with either a parent or an airline employee escort. Not until a child was over the age of 14 could they fly unescorted. The escort stays with the child until picked up by someone authorized to meet the child. I'm not sure if that is a federal law/rule, but I would imagine most airlines have similar restrictions. I cannot imagine allowing a 13 year old to navigate security, the airport, a flight, walking through the whole airport on the other end to get to where non-ticketed passengers are allowed ot wait, etc.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already, I'm a bit behind and a first time poster...

:wagon: Pinkandgreenmom! :welcome:

thank you for letting us know about airline escorts for children 14 years and under! :seeya:

From what has been reported, Dad had plans to drop Dylan off at his friends house on his way to run errands. The friends, not Dad, reported this.

http://www.durangoherald.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?aid=/20121124/NEWS01/121129756&template=mobileart

RN, 13, a friend of Dylan’s said in a phone interview Saturday that Dylan was originally going to Bayfield to visit his friends Sunday night but then changed that to meet them at 6:30 a.m. Monday.

Ryan said he and his friends expected Dylan’s father to drive him into town from Vallecito, but Dylan never arrived.

It was stated he works out of town a lot. Maybe due to his employment he was trying to get all of this meetings taken care of in the few business days he would be home. Most places are closed Thursday & Friday for thanksgiving. KWIM?

Most grocery stores have some kind of vid. surveillance , I'd think ---Dylan and his dad must have been spotted on camera somewhere.
Hard to understand why Dylans' phone was turned off at 8pm. ; and if so --did he use the landline phone, then ?
I'm thinking phone calls, social media, and possibly security cams' would be some of the few clues left.
The longer this drags on, the less hope I have for Dylan; but I am praying for a miracle ; and hoping that he's just 'holed up' somewhere and too afraid to speak up now.
LE has most likely picked over every phone call to and from Marks' house ...there's probably alot they're not telling us WS-ers' . It's hard to wait for us --can't imagine what Dylans' loved ones are going through.
Thanks to whoever posted the brownies and chocolate pics' --- I needed some of that ! :)

I don't really get that statement. His route from Colorado Springs to Durango was by commercial airlines. So nothing to retrace there.

The only place that we know that Dylan went was to the grocery store with dad after the airport arrival. Supposedly he went right back to dad's and fell asleep right after that.
I am hoping and praying that they meant the ENTIRE route. For instance, the route from the Durango airport to the last place he was said to have been seen. Dad's home.

I can guess at that on ttcRider's behalf. Seeing as that poster is from Ontario, I interpreted that as "Toronto Transit Commission Rider". The TTC is the Toronto transit system.

ETA: I have to say that I LOVED your interpretation....trying to conceive! That's great.

You outted me?? You are a snoopster! :floorlaugh:

Did search teams cover the length of the river? Anyone know if it's deep enough to take boats down?

  • #937
Yes, it is a good size team. I wonder how much land and other buildings are on the property. I thought I read somewhere that the house has a basement.

Yes, I do remember reading that the home has a basement - it was in a previous article referencing today's search, however, for the life of me, I cannot seem to locate it right now ....

Well, it was that or let me keep giggling about "trying to conceive Rider".
