Thanks. To me they should have never left that area in the first place.

But the only thing different in the water now is it is even colder which makes bodies settle to the bottom and not rise until the water warms up.

I think they know now that two alerts in two days in a row means they should have never stopped searching and that is why they are back.

IMO

Maybe they went back and reviewed the sonar images!

I actually also have wondered about their use of the words: "recreational video"... I am wondering if there are any campgrounds/lakes/those sort of areas along the route

I cannot think of many reasons otherwise for people to be driving along the road taking pictures, etc ykwim?

Dont ya think its odd?
Every case we read on here has cell pings as very important parts to these investigations. thats usually where the searches begin and sometimes end.

I am sure it is part of the case... but not one we are going to hear about.:twocents:

I don't find it odd they are not telling us case details.

LE is looking at the time frame of 8pm Sunday night (when Dylan's phone shut off) and 12pm Monday morning (when Dad reports he got home and Dylan was gone) which is when Dylan most likely disappeared. I think LE is looking for several possibilities when they ask for video's/photo's showing the road from Durango to Vallecito and Vallecito back to Durango or Bayfield. They want to see if Dad's truck is spotted going back home when he said they did. They want to see if Dylan was indeed in the truck. They want to see if Dad left sometime from 8pm Sunday night to 7:30am Monday morning. They want to see if there are possible sightings of Dylan walking or Dylan in another vehicle or a suspicious vehicle or a friend or MR's vehicle. I don't think they are looking for just one thing as many think. I think they are looking at many possibilities.

ITA! One thing they have not taken off the table is an abduction.

I think they are being thorough and looking at every possible piece of video footage that will help them.

We dont even know if someone may have seen MR leaving that morning without Dylan and came directly to the home and maybe asked Dylan if he wanted to go fishing and had other things on his mind.:(

It may even be someone he has known in his neighborhood for years.

IMO

Thank you. It seems when I try to say the exact same thing, I get zapped :blushing:

There is an approx 12 hour gap in time. It appears they are seeking confirmation of dad's truck on the ride home, anything to confirm dad's story, potential footage of dad on the road after 8 p.m. Sunday evening, or anything that may show Dylan's whereabouts from Sunday evening through noon on Monday.

If there is only one tower covering a large area, all cell phones will be pinging off that tower. Doesn't provide useful information of where the person was, since the area is large.

Yes but it would ping somewhere else if they left the area!
right?
I just asked because all the other threads i read the cell pings are very important.

  • #347
And remember that LE has no obligation to tell us anything and I'm sure they have more than they are sharing. I'm sure they've already checked Dylan's pings, Dad's pings etc. If releasing that info to the public would not help in getting information they most likely won't release it. They are investigating and putting the puzzle pieces together. We have to respect that.

I am confused also. Is there any particular reason they would think any such video exists? Do people like driving around taking videos down Vallecito Lake?

Cell pings are important, but normally people live in populated areas with many towers.

That seems perfectly logical to me. People assume by LE asking for these things they have zoned in on one way of thinking. I think they are looking at many possibilities.

Surely it wouldnt take them this long though but perhaps you are right.

All I know if there was one hit one day I may excuse it as a false alert but two days in a row? Nope, I would keep searching until I located where that scent was coming from. These dogs are trained to disregard animal scent. Human beings have a very distinctive scent from animals due to our diet.

I cannot fathom that someone would seriously follow Dylan and his Dad from Durango all the way to Dad's house and wait for an opportunity to abduct Dylan. Sorry, just not seeing that as any kind of viable option. IMO

Why do we have nothing said in this case about Cell pings?
Dylans or Dads.

We do know dylans went off the radar ar 8 pm sunday but what about dads?

I dont have any doubt whatsoever that LE has obtained that information already.

They have no reason to release that to the public though, imo.

I know jenny... right???

I am thinking they have cameras in the more populated areas but once you start heading out into the less populated areas the only things that could exist would be persons taking pictures or video ... but I think that is going to be a difficult endeavor to say the least imhoo (for the reasons of what you said above)

unless

they are trying to get pictures and videos from areas ALONG (meaning stops along) the main route

Why isn't it possible that someone took photo's or video's? While boating or fishing on the lake or on dirt roads while riding ATV's or Dirt bikes? Most everyone has this capability on their phones and many do.

That's a good thought. Notice they didn't say "recreational vehicles." I say that because that is where my mind went at first....like maybe they were looking for someone pulling a boat. Not sure what that phrasing means...but I think it was carefully worded. Wish they would come right out and say what they're thinking.

When I see that photo of Dylan coming through the airport, I almost feel sick to my stomach. Poor baby! Where is he?

LE probably doesn't think giving this info to the public would benefit their investigation.

Interesting, considering what we know about the dives and such.
